Hiii! I'm Becca, and I'm into story-focused games that really make you contemplate your ✨ entire existence. ✨
When I'm not gaming, you can find me buried in a good book, geeking out over product design, or going to the movies with friends. And hey, this channel isn't just about gaming-it's also my way of learning how to make cool videos too! So be prepared to see me trying different things out along the way.
Uploads are monthly (unless it’s a big game with a full series, then it’ll be weekly), because I love myself some video production rabbit holes, but if you're into awesome stories, great (subjective) gameplay, and a cozy vibe, you should grab a marshmallow and have a seat!

Let's Play The Game That Destroyed Me - The Beginners Guide
Well this was a journey. Davey and Coda were such interesting characters overall and I really loved all the layers that went into the storytelling. Also GREAT voice acting on Davey's part, he was super believable the whole time.
Don't worry, I knew by the end it was fiction, lol.
Sorry for the delay on this project, it ended up being super personal in a way that made it difficult to totally figure out, but I'm very happy with the end result. I hope you are too! :)

Slay the Princess | She's a 10 but... | Full Playthrough
Просмотров 28 тыс.4 месяца назад
Hi everybody! How are you? ::) I hope you enjoy my Slay the Princess playthrough! This game turned out to be just so much more than I expected it to be… and I already expected a lot from the reviews! I absolutely loved the art style and tiny details throughout, and the theme of perception shaping your reality was just so great and uniquely explored. Originally, I went in knowing that Slay the P...
BeccaBytes' Outer Wilds: Echoes of the Eye Byte-Sized Supercut
Просмотров 49 тыс.6 месяцев назад
I'm so happy that Echoes of the Eye did Outer Wilds justice. It was SO GOOD. In my top 3 DLC's favorite ever. 😭 THE PRISONER WAS SO TRAGIC. The Owlks were good antagonists, I loved that their motivations were more complex. Ugh. ALSO THE CHANGES TO THE ENDING! Based on the comments from the let's play, I apparently approached this game in an unorthodox way, so it was hard to decide what to keep ...
Let's Play Outer Wilds: Echoes of the Eye Blind 7 - The End

The end of Echoes of the Eye fully broke me, the absolute tragedy of what happened to the Prisoner was truly terrible. 😭 Then getting to see their grave at the end of the universe UGHHH. Chert I'm so sorry but the Prisoner is my favorite character now. 😭 I can't with the end it's so tragic and beautiful and perfect. I love how the DLC explains the mystery of what happened to the signal and expl...
Let's Play Outer Wilds: Echoes of the Eye Blind 6 - Endless Canyon
Просмотров 6 тыс.6 месяцев назад
Endless Canyon had the most satisfying puzzle solve for me of the DLC. I’m so happy I trusted the devs of the game enough to keep trying to figure out how to do no sneak there- I knew I could successfully sneak if I tried a bit more but sneaking wasn’t what I’d personally feel more satisfied by! Just one more episode now 😭 Interested in showing extra support for the channel? Become a member! ru...
Let's Play Outer Wilds: Echoes of the Eye Blind 5 - Starlit Cove

I think it's a good time to say that I REALLY struggled with the darkness in terms of keeping my sense of direction (and my stomach, motion sickness, yay!), which is what led me to uh, my more creative thinking. 💀 I knew that if I had to sneak through the area, I'd be mad, motion sick, and it'd take probably just as long in the end as what I ended up doing. Also I tricked y'all, you thought I w...
Let's Play Outer Wilds: Echoes of the Eye Blind 4 - The Shrouded Woodlands
Просмотров 7 тыс.7 месяцев назад
All I wanted to do was go to the concert. :'( Shrouded Woodlands turned out to be the worst concert venue, ever. Multiple bouncers wouldn't let me into the venue and then the whole thing floods??? Wow. Also ugh FINALLY Hidden Gorge has been discovered. That was painful. I was so convinced that the way to get to the upper cliff area was somehow unlocked in the dream world that I didn't even thin...
Let's Play Outer Wilds: Echoes of the Eye Blind 3 - Are We In A Dream? ...Or A Nightmare?
Просмотров 8 тыс.7 месяцев назад
So I finally made it into the dream, and then found out that our owl-elk friends are not friendly. Who could've guessed! Those ominous slide reels about them certainly didn't hint at that. We also start hitting the point in the game where I got VERY stuck. I think I used up all my good luck/thinking getting INTO the dream. Progressing the dream though? Hm. Let's Play Outer Wilds: Echoes of the Eye Blind 2 - A Vault and Green Fire?
Просмотров 9 тыс.7 месяцев назад
Welcome back! Today I am exploring more of the I guess you could say surface layer of the Stranger. This green fire and sealed vault (space coffin) are preeeetttyyy suspicious though. My actual favorite discoveries at the time were the projection tables, because it was wild to me that they built tech just to escape supernovas... I'm guessing that tech they added on later. I still stand by that ...
Let's Play Outer Wilds: Echoes of the Eye Blind 1 - Hello, Stranger!
Просмотров 11 тыс.7 месяцев назад
The first episode of the DLC is hereeee! Yay! The start of the DLC made me feel SO CONFIDENT about my puzzle solving abilities. I found the Stranger without a ton of difficulty. I did not know what was in store for me. 😆 I'm... very curious what y'all will think to my approach on things later. The intro was VERY involved to shoot. I wanted to go for something that captured the DLC specifically ...
Outer Wilds - Discovering the Map After 20 Hours

I thought this would be an important bit of context for the DLC playthrough. This happened post-base game when I was just zooming around capturing some pretty gameplay screenshots for thumbnails for the last few episodes of the base game series (and filler episode). It didn't fit neatly in with anywhere in the filler episode, but also didn't fit in the with the DLC episode 1. So here we are. En...

Here's my BYTE-sized playthrough of Outer Wilds! Yes, I did steal that pun from a commenter on another video! Ty for that! This game was a huge emotional journey for me because I had been struggling with some of the exsistential themes of it for the past few years. And now I feel way more optimistic about the fact we all die at some point! Thanks Outer Wilds! If you want to see an extended part...

Groundhog Day?? IN SPACE??? - Let's Play Outer Wilds Blind - Part 1
If you are into story-driven games, I really think you would enjoy playing the Life is Strange games
The surprise when you went the the sassy option did not exist. Watching your blind playthrough of the main game before the DLC
watching you play through the game is the closest i’ve ever gotten back to the feeling of experiencing it for the first time thanks for that
Im loving your videos and your channel, and you, as a person you are funny, entertaining, and creative, and i love your unique style of making videos cant wait for your next video. <3
Do you have any plans on playing the pristine cut?
I love the symbolism in outer wilds, the song the plays when you enter the smoke around the campfire and everything expands is called “Let There Be Light” which is symbolism for how you’re basically a god making light for a new universe at the cost of your own.
PUT IT BACK PUT IT BACK PUT IT BACK
My first princess was the Stanger... and it was hilarious watching the game get all wonky.
8:10 FernGully is GOATed 😎 great new name for Feldspar
1:46:04 the QM being on screen twice in a row without you seeing it because you were thinking about how to find it is the most Outer Wilds thing ever
Slay the Princess: The Pristine Cut came out with new dialogue and endings! If you play it, I highly recommend taking the same path that lead to the smitten. You also figured out what was going on in this game super quickly and took almost the exact same paths I did on my first playthrough. ADHD minds think alike 😂
Thank you so much for this
Hi Bekka, I loved both Outer Wilds and The Beginners Guide so I just assume you have (mostly) the same taste in games as me :) And I highly recomend the game GRIS. It's a small indie game but it changed my life and and my perception of the world as much as Outer Wilds did. It's not expensive at all and it can be played in just a few hours. Please check it out, I'm sure you'll love it!
I love how immediately we can see davey messing with codas expectations saying that we can ski the maze and saying the death was "probably" what was expected to happen. I thought we were gonna experience them as they are davey 😠
the artifacts in the ghost matter cabin were one of the last things I found and even then I had to be prompted by a walkthrough to go back after the dam broke lol that's so amazing that's one of the first things you found
best game ever ::)
Thank you for this! I loved it
so I may or may not have made the mistake of watching your entire Outer Wilds playthrough before attempting the game myself, but I have refrained from watching your subsection of Echoes of the Eye until now (because I have finished with the DLC now ahahaha) and yeah. The Original game was still a little tricky at times (looking at YOU white hole station idk why it was so hard to find you), but like. it was doable. Personally I found Echoes of the Eye to be a lot less intuitive (probably because it was more picture-based instead of words-based), and yeah, a whole lot more scary. Very interested and invested to see this playthrough!
This game is a bit older, and not that popular, so I'm overjoyed to see people still playing it. I feel like the emotions in it are so real and rarely expressed. Anyways, heres all the assumptions i have about you based on your play thru of it:
i cheesed the forge by flying my ship into the planets core and doing a backflip to land it on the path felt pretty proud of that shortcut
I can't believe how you degraded the play experience. I'll leave now.
i just noticed after you died on the moon it was on the screen at wakeup and then you blinked and it disappeared i didnt know that happened!
Are you streaming as well? Or are you "just" making videos? Really enjoy your content :)
No streaming for me! Did it for 3 years prior to this channel and it just didn't work for me at all as a format. I don't have the patience for chat, and the backseating ruined too many games 😭 I love making RUclips videos though!
@BeccaBytes Completely understandable :) Then I will just look forward to the next notification 🙏
That was so immensely satisfying. Part way through the video I started thinking “maybe if you lower the elevator you can skip the bridge” and then when you pulled open the Google Doc I realised you 100% were going to come to the same conclusion
I really loved this play through, it was unlike any other I’ve watched. So many points you’ve caught since the very beginning, and you even found some secret parts! ( 15:58 ) I applaud you for that really
I just stumbled upon your channel and really enjoy watching you solve mysteries so here's a couple suggestions on some other games I'd like to watch you stream. "The Forgotten City" which also has a timeloop mechanic and "Return of the Obra Dinn" which is just a great mystery game. Anyway, hope you keep making more videos no matter what you're streaming because you are very entertaining. Thanks for the great content!
it is a wonderfull expirience play this game... Like my friend and i say... "You can play the game everytime u want... But you can't feel every emotion that you feel the first time that u played it..." This game is Beautifull.
I played this game on Halloween :D
::)
the elks were in the system long before the nomai, who were in the system hundreds of thousands of years before the hearthians. they saw what the eye could do long before they would have considered that the end of everything was happening, so they saw it as a harbringer of doom, not a seed of rebirth.
I absolutely love that she dropped the artifact and THEN finally pressed Doze Off. It’s so funny how many ways this game has us trying things and being so extremely close but being off by the slightest details
If you like games like this there’s the Stanley parable (made by the same people) but it’s silly, there’s Dr langeskov the tiger and the terribly cursed emerald, but if you like the more somber stuff there’s superliminal
I haven't even watched the playthrough yet and i'm already captivated by the intro. Massive kudos to you and the others who worked on it! I hope the dev team sees it because its such a flattering and charming way to show you loved their work.
I really loved your reaction to this one. I didn't notice it in a quick skim of the comments, so CODA is also the abbreviation for co-dependence anonymous. Another fun tidbit- one of the random messages Davey says you don't need to read was devil tower star. Their numbering in the tarot is the 6 digit code in the tower. The invisible maze matches the labyrinth from the early ship he skips you past. Davey spends so much time dissecting Codas work for meaning but doesn't see what is actually there.
Intro to the video confused me for a bit, thought you somehow woke up without giants deep in the sky
It was a nice playthrough, thanks !
I really enjoy your videos! And your recaps! Nice effort. I didn't enjoy playing the game, And I tried for many times. But I enjoy watching you doing it! :D
The reason I cry every time I hear the Outer Wilds theme is that it evokes the thought of how our universe might end-consciousness fading away. I hope I'm wrong and that something like the Eye exists to bring forth a new universe from our ashes.
Thank you for such a wonderful playthrough. I didn't think, after watching so many Outer Wilds Let's Plays, that I would cry again, but your emotions came through the screen and I was done. I look forward to watching your completion video to see how you react to some of the things you missed.
Me watching an LP: how can you not see those ten pixels you're supposed to walk toward >:000 Me playing: I probably just don't need to go to the black hole forge lmao
So the jump at the Sun Station was so hard it led to a montage, but somehow parkouring the black hole forge elevator to the top succeeds in one attempt xD
That Sun Station montage is one of the funniest things I’ve ever seen. The music was PERFECT
I appreciate you creating this series. Outer Wilds is such a beautiful game that, tragically, loses a piece of itself once you experience its greatness. However, watching someone else experience the story for the first time allows me to relive the highs and lows all over again. Thank you for that. I hope you continue content creation; you have a real knack for it.
This is my favorite playthrough cus you understand what the devs are saying and truly feel the weight of it. I tear up all over again watching you play and hit those sad moments.
spoilers kinda !! i kind of wish i knew how davey overcame this issue or if he even did at all...does that matter in the end or..?? how do you overcome something like that in the first place
1:36:26 is actually so tragic lmao
i love little finds like this. unfortunately you found a short cut thru one of the better puzzles (very few require you to go to a different planet to do anything) but its still always funny watching how different people find different stuff and figure out things differently. do you have a different youtube page besides this one? i was hoping i could find a life is strange playthru or something after i saw you outer wilds one.
Plot hole: if solanum is on the moon, it's been observed all this time. So how did it move around? Still a great game though!
Interesting! Perhaps its because its being observed in isolation, I don't think its possible to observe other planets while on the quantum moon. Since its location isnt really known in relation to other objects, solanum may be considered another quantum object?
42:20 she was under the counter-clockwise tornado
Yea i was looking for this
51:14 i like how it says "my better 50%" rather than "my better half" ; a bit of Nomai dialect there
Thank you!!! Very few people have ever noticed that and it’s one of my favorite small details I added to the series. ::)
@@BeccaBytes i’ve done pretty well on noticing those sort of details, like the 4 eyed Hearthian smile emoticons you used sometimes too
