I just bought a 95 chris craft with this same motor and outdrive. The guy said and i can see the tuneup that was just done. It runs very rough, vibrates,and poor power....hard to get on plane. After looking at the prop I noticed something that looks like a melted exhaust flap. My question is, do you think damaged exhaust flaps would make the motor run this way?

Yes, it would make it run poor. Especially, if only one side came down. Look for my video on exhaust flappers.
I am about to start the tackle of pulling and reinstalling a 5.7 volvo penta so I'm watching all of your videos, prepare for many questions from me... on the rubber hoses, bellows, water hoses etc, would you put anything like marine grease or something when you put them back together to prevent them from being so difficult to remove later. I use to work or submersible water well pumps and would always put something caller Copper Kote on all bolts and such. The would never seize up and easier to loosen even years later.
