I find it hilarious that the bard's couragous anthem meets the prerequisites for unlocking roar mimicry
Same for Pounce Mimicry and a bunch of Martials. At least I think it works, not sure if charge moves that take 2 actions count as a single action.
@@MrLucky7s
If only actions and actions didn't use the sane name, then we could tell wich one they're talking about.
@@rod4309they usually use the term activity when they don't talk about the action "ressource"
@@rod4309we don't. Single action means one action resource. Multi action "actions" are specifically referred to as Activities in the rules. Moreover, if you see "Action" it refers to the rule(the resource), as rules are always captitalized, otherwise it's intended to be up to interpretation.
I kinda love the idea of a minotaur using electrogenesis with their horns. Effectively turning their horns into a giant taser.
Ooh this is such a cool archetype! If they ever do a monster core book 2, or something like a savage species for pf2e, it would be a great place to have more feat options for the wild mimic.
My wife's ranger died to a double crit rend from a yeti in our last game session! The dice hated the party that night, and she caught the worst of the terrible dice rolls!
Rend Mimicry isn't great, actually. That flourish tag means it doesn't work with Twin Takedown or other action compression feats. The only good synergy is Double Slice.
Well at least the double slice synergy is incredibly good, so there's that.
Would it work with monks that have some sort of slashing natural attack?
I think the Commander might work. It can identify things with Warfare Skills, and it gets Legendary DC.
I thought about that too, but the dedication would basically be a dead feat since they use their warfare lore for identifying creatures
You have a point@@MrTallFrog. Well, it could work with a Kineticist, but not sure if it has a lot to offer.
Thanks again for the review🎉
Found a class for my awakened penguin... ;)
This archetype seems like a great way to play the Jason Scott Lee version of Mowgli the 1994 version of The Jungle Book.
For the Trample, there are about 76 creatures with that ability starting as low as 3rd level. So pretty fair chance by level 10.
A thought hits me though, "seen a creature use an ability that [does a thing]". Technically other PCs are creatures so you could potentially learn from allies by observation if their actions fit the criteria.
At first I was thinking monk + wild mimic, but in the end I'm thinking thaumaturge + wild mimic!
I swore more monsters had Trample, but the only ones that comes to mind is the Moose, Dinosaurs, and Mammoths. Theres a couple monsters with abilities similar to Trample, like the Redcap's Stomp being a mini-trample with very specific conditions and less actions, but it's not a trample.
I can finally make Gau from FF 😌
All of the 'universal lore' skills are locked at trained until another skill is legendary except for Thaumaturge's Esoteric Lore and Commander's Warfare Lore.
Interestingly, Rend Mimicry doesn't specify that the strikes need to be in that round. Just that, at some point, you've hit them with two back to back. From the requirements, we can assume slashing is also melee ranged, but it doesn't actuially give a distance, or require them to be 'in reach.'
'Withing reach' in Pathfinder means melee attacks. The term used for ranged attacks is 'within range'.
do you have a planned order you will cover the rest of the archetypes in?
Next will be swarm keeper but other than that no
32:43 It has Primal trait. Doesn't it make it magical effect, i.e. a subject to spells such as Antimagic Field?
Yea, I guess you are right
Double Slice fighter got a nice buff with Rend
Seems more like Gau than Strago (FFVI).
I was thinking the same.
More Gau, less Strago
Would electrogenesis count for Kitsune’s foxfire? Because if so then it could already do electricity damage and have range
These all can use spell dc, is there any reason tat you cant use these while wildshaped as a druid? Trample and rend could be good there imo
I could be wrong, but I think they used "effects" when it should have been "affects" in Roar Mimicry...
Does observing a summoned creature count for the prerequisites?
Kind of sad Pounce Mimicry doesn't let you leap or (quick) jump instead of Striding
Shifter with other name
