  • The Warpriest is one of two cleric subclass options in Pathfinder Second Edition. This video covers the post-Remaster warpriest (as accessed on demiplane's free section).

    At this point, I'm just subscribing to all pf2e channels that get recommended to me. Nice video!

      Thank you, I started this to make shorter videos because my own players wouldn't watch longer.

    I've always really liked the Warpriest, even before the remaster, and I'm glad to see how much more love it's now getting.

    Cleric was already a great class, and the Remaster has made it even better. Warpriest especially got some huge quality of life improvements. Several new feats that help with shields too. Very impressed with the class and this video

      Indeed it has. It's closer to old-school clerics than ever before. Thank you for the compliment!

    Planning on playing a warpriest in an upcoming campaign (first in Pathfinder, and first as player rather than DM). Very useful video, and nice and concise too.

    Pardon me if I’m wrong, but doesn’t every class in PF2 have shied proficiency? Even the wizard? Not everyone has the Shield Block reaction, but everyone can use a shield with the ‘Raise shield’ action and get +2 to their AC (or +1 with a buckler)?

      I may have phrased it wrong. I intended to state that the warpriest has the ability to use the "shield block" reaction. Anyone can use a shield, I don't think there are proficiencies for it. This was likely due to my previous game being D&D 3.5e, where the cleric does have shield proficiency by that name.

    Just a note...everyone can use a shield.

      Yes, I mixed up editions (come from D&D 3.5e) when recording. I meant the shield block reaction.

    Hi what are the changes vs pf2e first edition?

    • @Cydewyn-fl4pm
      @Cydewyn-fl4pm  5 месяцев назад +3

      You mean the pre-remaster? The biggest change is that now divine font slots are set by level, not by charisma modifier. The warpriest also gained additional melee capacity.

      Originally the Warpriest started out more combat-capable than the Cloistered Priest, but the Cloistered Priest could catch up with a few feats, if I remember correctly. It should be noted that the Cloistered Priest typical was the stronger caster of the two, and that never changed. Those players that were seeking to make the strongest priest possible in both melee and casting would typically pick the Cloistered Priest and then pick up a few combat feats. I'm curious to see if that's still the case with the remaster.

      I was unaware of that exploit; regardless, I wouldn't advocate doing that. I'm guessing you are referencing to a cloistered cleric with the champion archetype?

      @@Cydewyn-fl4pm I'm not sure if it would be an "exploit" per se. A power-gaming move for sure, but I don't typically have issues with players making the most capable character they can, as long as everyone is roughly on the same level. I can't recall what feats exactly went into that crafting that specific build, and it seems the rework smoothed out the disparity between the two subclasses so it's kind of moot at this point anyway.

      @@samdoorley6101 in the pre remaster the only way I could get the war priest to work for frontline was dump wisdom. I think they might have addressed this but haven’t seen a side by side comparison
