The bloody war for cybertron video games had a better depiction of Megatron. He was ruthless, cunning and determined to complete his goal. He did not take BS from anyone. In the films, Megatron slowly devolves into a servant for other villains, and was barely used in last knight.
Cybertron version of Megatron is easily my favorite version. He really comes across as a ruthless tyrant who is absolutely single minded in his goals and will do anything to achieve them. Most of the deceptions are largely there for their own self interests, but Megatron just scares them into doing his bidding.
Seeing some aussie chick talk shit about him to his face and live to see the day in dark of the moon really was one of the most embarrassing moments for his character
I remember in the wii and ps2 version of the transformers 2 game when they had him resurrected he didn't know the fallen and only served him when he revealed he had a plan to bring back cybertron and even then they still argued. Probably should of done that in the second film
Here's how to fix the story. When Bumblebee ejects the Allspark, the only one who could actually calculate the trajectory was Sentinel who already had a science background in that same field involving space because he was the inventor of the space bridge, but didn't tell anyone else for fear of the Decepticons overhearing it and following the coordinates, thereby having both Megatron and an army of Decepticons around the Allspark. So when Sentinel left Cybertron, he took the space bridge with him in order to use it to teleport him and his crew to the Allspark predicted location before Megatron even got there, and then teleport the clearing losing Autobots to Earth to safety. So the Autobots would have both Optimus and Sentinel Prime, most of their surviving population would escape Cybertron rather than be genocided (because, let's face it, the Decepticons absolutely WOULD be completely genocidal against the Autobots), and Megatron would find the Autobots with the Allspark, and be forced to either turn back to Cybertron with what little energon reserves he had or be destroyed. But Sentinel's ship was fired on just as he activated the space bridge, tie-in-material says that Starscream was the one who launched that missile, and he didn't know that Sentinel had defected...but what if Starscream DID know Sentinel had defected? And he was blatantly ORDERED to shoot Sentinel down by The Fallen? Despite HIM knowing fell well Sentinel Prime had defected? So cue Transformers 1, the Autobots find Earth, Bumblebee KNOWS it's the right place because he sees Sentinel's ship is there, so the Autobots land on Earth in pods like in the first movie, while one of the Autobots we see in TF2 remain on the Moon to guard Sentinel, his crew (who are the rest of the Autobots we see in TF2!), and his ship so that they can be recovered once the fighting is done. AUTOBOTS ARRIVE AND LORE DUMP OP: Our planet was once a powerful Empire, peaceful, and just, all once believed in justice, until we were betrayed by Megatron. Him with a dozen other Decepticon warlords loyal to him took advantage of a period of unrest, to sieze power. The war that resulted ravaged Cybertron until our home became a lifeless wasteland. SCANNING GLASSES SCENE OP: After eons of coflict, and uncountable losses, I finally see that Grimlock was right. We must accept the reality before our eyes. IRONHIDE: You don't mean... OP: Freedom is the right of all sentient beings, but the rights of another to exist cannot be recognized so long as they refuse to respect our right to exist, and they have power enough to challenge us. There is only one way to end the war; for not just our own sake, but the young natives of this planet, the Decepticons must be destroyed. If the invading Decepticons gain the upper hand and all hope is lost, I will fuse the Cube with my Spark." [Scene plays out the rest of the way normall] MEGATRON AWAKENS S: I live to serve you, lord Megatron! M: Where is the Cube? S: The Humans have taken it! M: ...Tell me everything, beginning with why you would ever call me Lord... The veteran fanformers would be like: Wait, did Megatron just refer to Starsceam as an EQUAL? Something's not adding up. OP CONFRONTS MEGATRON OP: Megatron! M: Prime! (tosses away Jazz's remains) Much has changed since we last met. You didn't have that look in your eyes then... OP: (brings out his blaster and shoots at Megatron's spark. M: tanks the hit, only to transform into jet-mode and take OP for a ride. THEY LAND M: Do you even know what I intend? OP: Your only intent has ever been to ravage and destroy all that stands in the way of your lust for power! M: Are you truly so blind?! MEGS THROWS OP M: WE WERE BROTHERS, ONCE! (shoots him, sending him sailing to a building, OP is unconscious) MEGATRON CATCHES UP WITH SAM M: Is it fear or courage that compells you? M: I am Megatron, give me the Allspark, and on my authority as Lord of the Decepticons, we shall leave this planet for all time! Just give it to me, and all of this chaos and conflict will never come to your planet ever again! Sam: I'm NEVER giving you this Allspark! M: (Megatron grimaces) Do you even KNOW what exactly you're holding, boy?! (Megatron then activates his own hologram the way Optimus did earlier, but underneath Cybertron's exterior, the Decepticons suffering, starving, dead bodies laying on the ground everywhere, dead from Energon Starvation in an apocalyptic scene) M: Our planet had fallen to decay, decadence, and was dying long before I had entered the scene. The Allspark was the only hope for Cybertron's survival, and the regime did NOTHING with it! Keeping it locked away in a vault while everything rotted beneath the surface! (the camera pans to OP, Megatron, and Ratchet handing our Cubes of Energon to the starving Decepticons.) M: At first, I joined my brother, Optimus, in attempting to remedy the problem. But while we talked with everything in the Senate, all our words, camera footage, NOTHING could convince them to lift their fingers to stop it! I knew we were running out of time, but when I tried to take the Allspark to save the planet, I was stabbed in the back! The ruler of Cybertron, my own Father! Impaled me and lifted me up on a pike to maintain his status quo! Because of Sentinel, our only fate is DEATH! (Megatron calms down, and the planet zoomed out to an orbital view of the ruin Cybertron has become encompassing the entire field of vision as if we're right above it) M: The war only sped the inevitable ruin of our planet, countless Cybertronians died, those few alive are still suffering, and not even I have any idea what they lengths they will go to secure their salvation. But... they will obey my every word without question, light and life will return to our planet, and with Cybertron restored to its former glory, my Decepticons will want for nothing, and humanity will be left to whatever dream you want for yourselves as we had always done before... (Then Cybertron's landscape changes into something beautiful, rivers of energon flowing through mountains and forests of Cybertronian trees with glowing leaves, cities that seemed to be made out of gold, platinum, ivory, stone, and decorated with glowing Cybertronian plants. The dream Megatron envisioned brought to life seemingly before Sam's very eyes. The hologram focuses on a statue of Sam, standing above Megatron, both of their faces peaceful, the scene depicting) (Megatron's hand gently pokes through the hologram, and it disperses, with Megatron bowing before Sam, hand outstretched, wait, am I seeing this right? Are Megatron's eyes BLUE, right now?) M: ...if you give me the Allspark. Sam's answer, despite the weight in his expression, is still immediate. "I already gave you my answer!" He shouts. Megatron looks up, his face portraying shock, then betrayal, before he snarled, eyes turning blood red before bringing his flail out. "THEN JOIN THE AUTOBOTS IN EXTINCTION!" He swings, causing Sam to begin falling to the ground before being caught by Optimus. One tumble later... OP: Sam. (OP folds back his facemask for the first time, being the first time he revealed his face in the movie, and it's one riddled with scars, with even one of his cheeks partially melted) You risked everything to protect The Cube. (the scene plays out just like normal, OP and Megs get up) M: You risk your life to protect this wretched FLESHLING at the expense of EVERYTHING! OP: There's nothing else. It's just you and me, Megatron! M: So be it, then! Nothing you did could save Cybertron! And nothing you can do will stop me from claiming what's mine, and saving Cybertron! OP: All Cybertron, or just the Decepticons? The rest of the battle scene plays out normally, up until the airstrike on Megatron, he activates his jets in robot form in one last attempt to take the Allspark from Sam. Optimus kicks his leg out, Megatron trips head over hheels and crashes into a massive pile of rubble. His blood red eyes go dark, seemingly from dying. Camera pans out on Megatron's ruin as Optimus turns to Sam, who begins giving him the Allspark. Megatron swings his flail and Optimus catches the Cube as Sam drops it, Optimus catches Megatron's flail and pulls the Decepticon Lord to him, his arm is covered with white energy as he thrusts, his fist collides with Megatron's spark, ending the Decepticon Tyrant's rampage once and for all. As Optimus lays Megatron's hands over the hole in his spark, he says sadly. "You left me no choice, brother..."
Transformers, Revenge of the Fallen It begins mostly the same way, with Soundwave this time finding out some vital intel, and springing a plan into action. Then Starscream sends the Autobots a message, after Optimus hears that "The Fallen shall rise again!" But due to his history of mind-games and treachery, they decide not to even read it before they get notified of yet another Decepticon incursion happening somewhere in, I don't know, South America? The Decepticon appears and he's a bad one, but then Starscream kills them in front of the Autobots and Nest. SS: Since you're so eager to ignore my messages, I will say this to you once, and there will be NO renegotiating the terms! If you refuse, then I will order all of my forces to attack and destroy humanity! Sideswipe: Accept a deal, from YOU? Mudflap: I don't know nothin' about you, but I do know that you're so slippery you crawl up people's ass and make 'em think you're supposed to be there! Skids: Not in my trunk! Optimus: State your terms. SS: The Revival of Megatron! Everyone shocked face, Optimus' eyes are widened. Optimus: You and Megatron were bitter rivals, you wanted him gone for millennia, what changed? Starscream: The Fallen happened!. The exchange goes on, with Starscream warning about the Fallen, the TRUE Lord of the Decepticons who all the other Decepticon Warlords HAVE to tow the line to, or else, and those Decepticons loyal to the Fallen are planning something. The deal is inconclusive, but Starscream avows to only send those of his forces loyal to the Fallen, to drip feed as long as they can until they decide to revive Megatron with the Allspark. While Megatron is dead, the Fallen's Authority over the Decepticons is unquestioned, which is why the Fallen did everything he could to subvert his underling, and Starscream says that if Megatron were revived, he would ally with them against The Fallen. On the Allspark, Starscream KNOWS the Autobots faked the destruction of, and since Soundwave is loyal to The Fallen now that Megatron is confirmed to be dead, the problems are only going to get worse. However, the Allspark has gone inert for some reason, and eventually, the Decepticons learn that it somehow transferred to Sam Witwicky in college after a Pretender Spy catches sight of him and reports back. Alice invades his house and tries to kidnap him, but he accidentally activates the Allspark inside of him, bringing all the appliances to life and they come to his defense! Overwhelmed, Alice flees before bumblebee almost attacks the appliance-bots, and Sam explains they're good, and that girl is a Decepticon! Bumblebee chases down and captures her, and at that point, Alice recieved a transmission from Soundwave, inform them of an attack coming, and just give them a faulty location.) THEN IN COMES THE FOREST FIGHT, AT LEAST 9 DECEPTICONS SPREAD OUT ACROSS A LARGE AREA. OPTIMUS' PLAN IS FOR THE MAIN ASSAULT TEAM TO TAKE THEM HEAD ON, AND HIM WITH THE FLANKING TEAM SWEEP IN FROM THE SIDE. But then he sensed signs of the Allspark re-activating, despite the energy coming from a random building while the Allspark is in a secure facility. He rescues Sam, who then explains that somehow the Allspark is inside of him, which is why the Decepticons want him. Then Optimus is attacked, separating him from his team, he then initiates a battle against Soundwave and Starscream, Optimus goes in hard, to which Starscream calls the Constructicons to turn the tide. Optimus expects them to deploy some special fortification, but they deploy Devastator, who Optimus Prime narrowly manages to get the upper hand before Starscream lands behind him. "You should've accepted my bargain, Traitor Prime!" Then Starscream fires his Null Ray at OP's back, the devastating weapon killing him just in time for everyone to see Optimus thrown by Starscream off of Devastator's back. Ironhide orders the Autobots to attack, most of them do, but they're clearly scared and horified of Devastator, nobody could put a dent on Devastator as he just walked away into the forest, Starscream and Soundwave fly off. THE FALLEN'S ANNOUNCEMENT Starscream and Soundwave talk on the building, where the former explains how he was on a mission to reclaim the Allspark and revive Megatron, so that he may overthrow the Fallen, who had long ago lost his respect and loyalty due to his questionable decisions during the war, such as trying to dispose of Megatron to get rid of a potential usurper who ALWAYS wanted the throne. While Soundwave reveals to Starscream that the Allspark has downloaded itself into the boy. Both conclude that their only hope is that the Autobots decide to revive Megatron, so they follow their orders and transmit The Fallen's announcement worldwide and begin the invasion of his followers in earnest. Although the Fallen organized the Decepticons, Megatron MADE them. In desperation, after hundreds Human Navy vessels worldwide were sunk by Decepticons impacting into them and ripping them apart from the inside, the humans decide to contact Starscream and agree to his terms through his original message. And they find him SMUGLY declaring his deal, after Optimus Prime dies, meaning that freako PLANNED this out from the beginning. And with an even more bitter taste in their mouth, and desperate to stem the hopeless tide, they decide to convince Sam to revive Megatron after the Constructicons fish him up from the depths. Megatron wakes up, still furiously trying to reclaim the Allspark, but then realizes what happened. M: "So, Optimus came to his senses! Ha ha ha ha! He finally wants the information seated in my brain!" SW & SS: "Lord Megatron!" M: What are you doing, here? Soundwave? (rought version, Oh, we killed Optimus Prime and convinced these pathetic meatbags to bring you back!) Megatron glowers, and stares at Starscream before hitting him. M: STARSCREAM, YOU IMBECILE!!! Megatron grabs Starscream's throat. SW: Lord Megatron. How can we defeat The Fallen? M: Defeat the Fallen? DEFEAT THE FALLEN? HAVE YOU IDIOTS NOT READ A SINGLE THING ABOUT THE PRIMES?! At this point, Megatron is forced to drop lore about the Primes, Lore that because of his background as an extremely well-educated upper class dude, he had the opportunity to know. And explain why killing Optimus Prime was the absolute worst possible thing they could've done. But this being Megatron, he just flies away with Soundwave and Starscream as an F you before he explains anything. Presumably to usurp the Fallen before moving on to their other goals, like dissecting Sam to retrieve the Allspark. Clearly, they decide to bring back Optimus. So they try... and try again, but fail... "The Allspark's power is gone..." But...they're next to the Smithsonian Aerospace Museum! JETFIRE AWAKENS! AFTER A BRIEF AND SCARY COMMOTION, THE SHOCKINGLY ELDERLY EX-DECEPTICON EXPLAINS ALL! JETFIRE: Cybertron in the beginning was ruled by the Primes, their power was absolute, and the original primes had mystical abilities that allowed them to warp the laws of the universe to their will. With their might, they reforged primordial Cybertron into their image. What does tha have to do with the Allspark dying? JETFIRE: DON'T YOU INSIPID LITTLE KNAVES KNOW ANYTHING ABOUT THE LAWS OF PHYSICS?! RATCHET: CALM DOWN! THE TWINS: WHOA WHOA WHOA! WE DID NOTHING! YA HEAR? JETFIRE: The Allspark, when you get down to it, is just energy, ha! The energy that created the universe itself! The Cube is merely its vessel, the Allspark, like all energy, cannot be created, nor can it ever be destroyed, it can only transform! And it can only be charged by someone who had the same energy flowing within them, or their bloodline... A Prime, a descendant of the original 7 who made Cybertron into what it is today!
Wow, you’ve really given this a lot of thought lol. Nah, don’t worries I did the same thing when I was a kid. I honestly loved the perspective you gave for Megatrons side. It actually makes you empathize with him, makes you see his side and why maybe he’s not as evil as people think. I loved that. It was my favorite part. The way Optimus kills Megatron is almost the same as in the video game adaption of the movie. I do agree with the video that it makes no sense that putting the all spark in his chest kills Megatron but in the video game he puts the all spark in his chest and it just unlocks the power for him to dominate the world. They didn’t think that one through properly. I will read your revenge of the fallen comment soon
@@brandonsantiago2298 SAM: ...Optimus Prime? JETFIRE: Yes, if he was truly a descendant of one of the 7, then the power in his Spark is an energy like no other, imprinted on his genetics, he would be able to revitalize the Allspark by transferring energy into it, only a Prime would be able to do this. It was with this ability in mind that the Primes sent one of their own into the cosmos to gather enough energy to recharge the Allspark, and put an end to the energy crisis. CUT TO MEGATRON, SW, AND SS SS: But you and Optimus are brothers by blood! Primes are born, and Sentinel was your father! Nothing could change that! MEGATRON: But when Sentinel betrayed and stabbed me in the back, he DID change me! The Primal Energy that once flowed in my veins is gone, I was unprimed since the war started, and not even what remained of the Allspark could restore it! SW: But what remains of the Allspark's energy lies within the boy. And it entered you, does that not mean that you're a Prime, now? MEGATRON: The fact you ask that question marks exactly the reason The Fallen has tried to be rid of me for so long! SS: How does it not?! If we need that one insect to revive our planet, then we mu- MEGATRON (slaps Starscream): Shut up! (BACK TO JETFIRE) EPPS: So what you're saying is that Sam is a goddamn PRIME? JETFIRE: Essentially, if the Allspark's energy flowed into him, then that can only mean he possesses the same qualities that the original 7 did...somehow. SIDESWIPE: So that means that Megatron, and anyone else we bring back from the dead, is now a Prime?! JETFIRE: No, you can alter your body however you're wish, but anything beyond the physical, the Allspark must choose to grant it to you. Or rather, Primus, the deity who created the universe, and uses the Allspark as a conduit to interact with it. JETFIRE: One of the Seven went out on a mission to gather energon, the lifeblood that makes all life on Cybertron possible. Without it, we'd all fall into an eternal sleep, then perish, oxidize and rust! LIKE MY WRETCHED SELF! DO YOU HAVE ANY IDEA WHAT IT'S LIKE TO BE CONSIGNED TO GO TO SLEEP KNOWING YOU'LL NEVER WAKE, OR LIVE TO WATCH YOURSELF SLOWLY FALL APART AND DIE?! (MEGATRON) The Allspark itself must choose to make you a Prime, and it can only do so by migrating its power inside you of its own volition. And only a Prime can make someone another Prime, as Sentinel stripped me of my status! SW: Then if the Allspark is within Sam Witwicky, we must retrieve him and give him enough energy to revive Optimus, and restore your primehood. MEGATRON: No...this plan can work wthout Optimus. The replacement is right here. (JETFIRE) No other form of energy is powerful enough for a reliable conversion process to put inside the cube, no one wants to mess with anti-matter, and plasma? Ha, good luck transferring that to the Allspark without destroying your body. The Prime's expedition employed a machine to convert vast amount of energy into energon, any kind of energy. Jetfire looks up JETFIRE: But Its original method was to harvest energon by destroying suns. LENNOX: Destroy suns? You mean blow them up? JETFIRE: Yes, but the Primes set out with one rule; to never destroy a solar system with life, and it was the job of Seekers like myself to scout out entire systems with a whole armada, to make absolutely sure that nothing was there in the system to be harmed. The first few expeditions all had successful ignitions, but then came...what planet is this? Is this still the human homeworld we're on? (Longstory short, the Fallen still wanted to harvest energon from Earth's sun, even though Earth was confirmed to hold life, but the Star Harvestor was a relic of the Primes, and only a Prime, like the Fallen, could control it. The Seekers decided to report the system as bearing no signs of life, except for the ones from Jetfire's ships, who knew Earth had life, when Jetfire and his men saw that the Star Harvester was entering the system, he knew that something was wrong and appealed to the Fallen, only to be betrayed by him, starting a civil war with the other Seekers, and even the remaining Primes joining in. They restrained the Fallen, but could not kill him, but what they could do was use what was left of their Primal Energies to make Earth's location impossible for anyone currently present there to remember, and something else, too) JETFIRE: The Six remaining Primes banished their brother to an extra-dimensional prison, and the Seekers scattered to the stars. But they knew this prison wouldn't last forever, and they had sacrificed so much of their power that their life force began to fade, they used what was left of their Sparks to give all Primes, their brother, and all of their descendants, a weakness. Only a Prime could override the supernatural powers of another Prime, and since The Fallen's ability was complete and total control over entropy and destruction, this made him immortal and untouchable. This means that only a Prime could destroy him. He was stripped of his original name, and none would ever be able to remember it, and he was given a new one, one that I imagine all Cybertronians would forget, so he would be known, forevermore as, The Fallen. But his name, the one he was rebranded with, was Decepticus. IRONHIDE: DECEPTICON! The Fallen was the first Decepticon! He named them all after himself, and started the war! SAM: Wait, Megatron wasn't the founder of the Decepticons? RATCHET: No, the Decepticons already existed long before Megatron and Optimus were born. Everyone thought they were a mystery cult, a secret organization that no one knew the name or emblem of. Everyone knew of them, but next to none actually believed they existed, and the few who did knew nothing. They were completely immaterial until Megatron took on their emblem and betrayed us all. SKIDS: And the rest is history. MUDFLAP: WE is history is more like it! JETFIRE: After the Fallen's Imprisonment, we Seekers scattered to the stars, of the Seekers who remained loyal, only I and thirty-eight others survived. Before we could contact the Primes and beseech them to return us home, they had already sacrificed themselves to seal the Fallen. So the only thing we could do was to entomb them on this world, bury the Star Harvester, and await the arrival of the New Primes to resume our voyage. Jetfire's voice gets sad JF: Two hundred thousand cycles we waited, so long that we ran out of whatever energon rations we had by the your civilization started really taking off. At that point, we had to put each-other in stasis lock and siphon their energon reserves in order to keep we who remained awake longer, and this continued until only I remained, then I took on this form who knows how long ago...and here we are. The ancient Seeker looks down on Optimus' body. JF: With the last Prime dead. Sideswipe: Wait, how do you know Optimus is the last Prime? For all you know, Sentinel and a few others could still be out there! JF: The Fallen's return is imminent, without a Prime, stopping him is impossible, when he breaches his prison, your world will be. No. More. Lennox: So what can we do? Jetfire stares intently JF: Run. You humans don't have the might to deal with a threat on The Fallen's Caliber. You can't stop him from destroying your sun, and once he does, with that amount of energon, the Decepticons as you call them, will be unstoppable. JOLT: I hate this. I hate this! Does this mean that Megatron is our only hope to stop the Fallen? JF: Megatron? RATCHET: Optimus Prime's brother IRONHIDE: And the greatest of the Decepticon Warlords SAM: He plans on overthrowing The Fallen JETFIRE: ANOTHER Decepticon Prime? There can only be one Prime of the Decepticons, and it will be the Fallen! That scrapraker's too paranoid to ever trust another Prime, if Megatron actually could pull it off, that sneak would've assassinated him by now! BUMBLEBEE: Apparently he did try, in the final days of the war for Cybertron, Megatron was stranded here believed to be dead, well, he was until just now. EPPS: So what can we do to stop The Fallen? Is there any source of energy that can charge Sam up so he can bring Optimus back? Jetfire leans down to look at Sam. JETFIRE: Oh he's a Prime alright, any Seeker can tell, but his organic body is too fragile to absorb any meaningful power, he's going to need energon straight from a Transformer's Spark Chamber. SAM: Alright, so who's up for a donation? JOLT: NO, you don't understand! Our Spark is the most vulnerable, irreplaceable part of our bodies. If it's compromised, then we're in jeopardy! JETFIRE: I'd be willing to do it. If my sacrifice brings Optimus back, then I'll gladly do it. Arcee: Optimus is a PRIME! One of the most powerful Cybertronians out there. Even if we all sacrificed outselves, there's no gaurantee it would be enough energon to restore his Spark! SAM: Wait, would it work if the robot's are already dead? RATCHET: How so? SAM: You said you entombed the original Primes, who had the Allspark's energy flowing through them, so it I went into their graves and gathered what remained of the energon in them, would it be enough to revive Optimus? Jetfire's eyes widened: Yes, of course! The energon leftover within his ancestor's remains should be enough to bring him back!
Maybe in the new continuity Megatron could simply be on Cybertron commanding from elsewhere, and by ROTB (maybe also when Bee got to Earth or when he's reawakened) Megatron's already successfully ruling over it like the Netlfix series trilogy, but its not dying its just fully under decepticon rule. Which would explain how the antagonists of Bumblebee were sent to kill any surviving autobots, the only thing was their communication can't reach back to Cybertron to relay where Prime is headed so Earth is still a refuge. G1 Megatron also glossed over Orion pax, and TFA Meg did the same to Optimus cause in that continuity he's just a random commander of a ship, so maybe it can be a similar situation, Megatron simply not being obsessed with Prime as his mortal nemesis like in TF Prime, and more of being obsessed with ruling over Cybertron
You brought up something that always bothered me about these Bayberse movies. And that’s the line “Primes are born.” This really contradicts all the Transformers lore. And it belittles in many ways who Optimus is: a humble person who reluctantly answered call for adventure/war. This is in my opinion. One reasons why Optimus is so gentle, because he understands the suffering of other people through his own suffering. I think this is perfectly portrayed by Peter Cullen.
To answer your question about the continuity in the movies, there is none. MB really doesn't give a damn about scripts unless it contains explosions, and if anything doesn't make sense and is pointed out to him, he'll just shut you down (Ben Affleck got a lipful for a suggestion in Armageddon). The most WTF thing for me was when he came back as Galvatron, they said they duplicated his "chromosomes". Like, wow. I just don't know how to respond to that. So many things wrong with that scientifically, and if you pointed that out to Bay, he would just make fun of you for being a nerd.
@@RetrospectGreg Armaggedon involved oil drillers being trained to become astronauts to stop the asteroid. From what I heard, Affleck actually asked Bay "Hey, wouldn't it make more sense and take less time to simply train astronauts in drilling than the other way around?" And Bay just told him to shut up.
@@zemox2534 he's a producer now more than anything else and both Travis and Steven have expressed Michael was fun to work with. Bay makes a better producer than Lorenzo though
TF2 (Shard v AllSpark): The AllSpark killing him but a small shard bringing him back I tend to see as “too much of anything isn’t good for you, and way too much can kill you” TF2 (Original Ending): Why the original ending didn’t make it in the film is because, according to Michael Bay, they ran out of time so had to rush the ending Bumblebee: He actually appears as his gun alt-mode in the hands of Soundwave
Bayverse Megatron really did sucked. The greatest and feared leader of the Deceptions was reduced to a dependent lackey who can barely defend himself. It's just so embarrassing to see Megatron getting his ass handed to him throughout the movies. Usually that's more of starscream's thing or waspinator from beast wars. XD This is Megatron! One of the strongest and smartest villains in Transformers history.
Actually there is a theory megatron was in the bumblebee movie but he was in his gun mode if you look at sound wave’s hand you notice that gun looks like megatron’s gun mode
"Slightly rebooted" .... no its ENTIRELY rebooted. yes they where on the fence before with the bee film, but eventually they dicided to have nothing to do with the bayverse.
The whole Bayverse Transformers is completely lore broken. It’s also in many areas a porn fest for perverts to feast their eyes upon, especially Revenge of the Fallen. They sloppishly replaced Megan Fox’s character with another character all because Megan was also replaced. They have the Autobots acting like absolute obnoxiously stupid taunters and trash talkers to each other at some points, as well as obnoxious in other ways, like Bumblebee peeing on the Sector 7 guy and the toy monster truck transformer humping Megan Fox’s character’s leg in Revenge of the Fallen. We even get a mating scene of a crippled male chihuahua named Mojo banging a female bulldog named Frankie. We get characters who talk absolutely moronically and childishly to each other, including Sam Witwicky’s coworkers and boss, and even get classmates at college acting all horny for either each other or their college professors; we even get a female model college student walking around naked in a bath towel throughout the college dorm hallway even while one of the staff members is there. In Dark of the Moon (which name doesn’t make sense) they even have a woman obnoxiously show up to work in a work outfit but with her stomach and her cleavage showing. As far as lore damage goes, in The Last Knight, they completely change the lore so sillishly to where they keep it where Bumblebee arrived to Earth back in 2007, but had also been on Earth fighting against the Nazis back in the 1940s during World War II. Basically the whole story is lore-sloppy, moronic and horny mess, that sounds like it was written by someone who doesn’t know time, and who is constantly horny about women and has the important characters, Autobots included, behave like absolute imbeciles and stupid trash talkers!
The All spark is not a deus ex machina considering the back story and prior set up to it if it was something that just came out of nowhere to kill Megatron solving the problem then you'd be correct the term for it would be a maguffin
The reason I like the knight verse megatron is because they haven’t developed him. I feel like they want to take a approach where megatron doesn’t have to lose every time because that just makes it boring.
That is not a good thing!!! You can't have a bloody character with zero development, just appear out of nowhere, and get tossed aside later on Especially when the character is suppose to be the main fucking villain of your franchise.
they shouldve kept megatron a big threat. as the movies progress, he gets more and more cowardly... imo love how his design progresses, but take dotm as an example: instead of being ashamed, i feel as if true megs would wear his scars with pride, and fight twice as hard after his defeat. hes ruthless and relentless, and will stop at nothing REGARDLESS of damage & injuries (take the g1 movie for example) thats what makes him so threatening. he was too much a coward in bayverse and that hurt my soul lol i LOVE his new design in the beeverse/reboot, super menacing, wayy bigger than most bots... hopefully he shows up soon
Definitely why bayverse really sucks to me even though i grew up with em But i heard rumors that megatron is actually in the bumblebee movie in a form of a gun used by soundwave in his first appearance, that would be really wild
The Bay films also failed in their portrayal of Optimus Prime as well, except Prime gets worse with every film outside Bumblebee. I think my favorite portrayal of Megatron is from Transformers Prime. His design in TFP is great evolution of the Live Action design. He's played by Frank Welker, who has played the character for decades, and the writing is a lot better.
people always talk about him like he was good in the first movie but he wasn't. he failed to catch sam on foot despite being 35 feet tall, landing behind him and being a living jet. he crash landed on earth being the only transformer in the series known to crash land.. in the arctic circle when his objective was in usa. he ripped the smallest autobot in half then ran away when he could have beaten everyone there, his fight with optimus sucks, he looks awful, he's not leading it's insulting. starscream was infinitely cooler than megatron in the first two but people act like he's accurate to the original when they have nothing in common
Alot of mistakes, here is alot good explained ruclips.net/video/g9pmPypZh-Y/видео.htmlsi=KnrubLvIUWgl_xAM Magatron was never mindcontroled be Quintessa, they had the same goal. Also that goal never changed for Megatron, first he wanted the cube to rescue Cybertron, then he wanted the Matrix and sun colecter to rescue Cybertron, after that he tried to bring Cybertron to earth to rescue it and so on, explained in the Video. With the cube that killed him and than broght him back to life, it is like an elektrik strike for a human, it can cause the heart to stop beating, but used in the right way it can make the heart start to beat again.
Here's what's wrong with Megatron in the Bay movies - you can't tell him apart from Starscream when they were both on screen - they look too damn similiar!
Gen 1 Design is A product of its time and should stay there. We're in a totally new age where things should be drawn and animated. A lot better like the Bay verse actually. Was this whole blocky square shape and what not very boring?
"primes are born, not made" is also the exact opposite of what Transformers is usually about
So in other words, the version of the ending that made more sense, still doesn't make sense.
yea lockdown would have a interesting response to that statement
@@1le1ss Lockdown: I don't care
"No matter how much I detest it so, Primes are born, not made."
Transformers Prime had Optimus offer prime status to Smokescreen after he risked his life to try to save him.
@@shawklan27I think you meant to type embarrassing. If so, I agree completely
AUTOBOTS ARRIVE AND LORE DUMP
OP: Our planet was once a powerful Empire, peaceful, and just, all once believed in justice, until we were betrayed by Megatron. Him with a dozen other Decepticon warlords loyal to him took advantage of a period of unrest, to sieze power. The war that resulted ravaged Cybertron until our home became a lifeless wasteland.
SCANNING GLASSES SCENE
OP: After eons of coflict, and uncountable losses, I finally see that Grimlock was right.
If the invading Decepticons gain the upper hand and all hope is lost, I will fuse the Cube with my Spark."
[Scene plays out the rest of the way normall]
MEGATRON AWAKENS
S: I live to serve you, lord Megatron!
M: Where is the Cube?
S: The Humans have taken it!
M: ...Tell me everything, beginning with why you would ever call me Lord...
The veteran fanformers would be like: Wait, did Megatron just refer to Starsceam as an EQUAL? Something's not adding up.
OP CONFRONTS MEGATRON
OP: Megatron!
M: Prime! (tosses away Jazz's remains) Much has changed since we last met. You didn't have that look in your eyes then...
OP: (brings out his blaster and shoots at Megatron's spark.
M: tanks the hit, only to transform into jet-mode and take OP for a ride.
THEY LAND
M: Do you even know what I intend?
OP: Your only intent has ever been to ravage and destroy all that stands in the way of your lust for power!
M: Are you truly so blind?!
MEGS THROWS OP
M: WE WERE BROTHERS, ONCE! (shoots him, sending him sailing to a building, OP is unconscious)
MEGATRON CATCHES UP WITH SAM
M: Is it fear or courage that compells you?
M: I am Megatron, give me the Allspark, and on my authority as Lord of the Decepticons, we shall leave this planet for all time! Just give it to me, and all of this chaos and conflict will never come to your planet ever again!
Sam: I'm NEVER giving you this Allspark!
M: (Megatron grimaces) Do you even KNOW what exactly you're holding, boy?!
(Megatron then activates his own hologram the way Optimus did earlier, but underneath Cybertron's exterior, the Decepticons suffering, starving, dead bodies laying on the ground everywhere, dead from Energon Starvation in an apocalyptic scene)
M: Our planet had fallen to decay, decadence, and was dying long before I had entered the scene. The Allspark was the only hope for Cybertron's survival, and the regime did NOTHING with it! Keeping it locked away in a vault while everything rotted beneath the surface!
(the camera pans to OP, Megatron, and Ratchet handing our Cubes of Energon to the starving Decepticons.)
M: At first, I joined my brother, Optimus, in attempting to remedy the problem.
(Megatron calms down, and the planet zoomed out to an orbital view of the ruin Cybertron has become encompassing the entire field of vision as if we're right above it)
M: The war only sped the inevitable ruin of our planet, countless Cybertronians died, those few alive are still suffering, and not even I have any idea what they lengths they will go to secure their salvation. But... they will obey my every word without question, light and life will return to our planet, and with Cybertron restored to its former glory, my Decepticons will want for nothing, and humanity will be left to whatever dream you want for yourselves as we had always done before...
The hologram focuses on a statue of Sam, standing above Megatron, both of their faces peaceful, the scene depicting)
(Megatron's hand gently pokes through the hologram, and it disperses, with Megatron bowing before Sam, hand outstretched, wait, am I seeing this right? Are Megatron's eyes BLUE, right now?)
M: ...if you give me the Allspark.
Sam's answer, despite the weight in his expression, is still immediate.
"I already gave you my answer!" He shouts.
Megatron looks up, his face portraying shock, then betrayal, before he snarled, eyes turning blood red before bringing his flail out.
"THEN JOIN THE AUTOBOTS IN EXTINCTION!"
He swings, causing Sam to begin falling to the ground before being caught by Optimus. One tumble later...
OP: Sam. (OP folds back his facemask for the first time, being the first time he revealed his face in the movie, and it's one riddled with scars, with even one of his cheeks partially melted) You risked everything to protect The Cube.
(the scene plays out just like normal, OP and Megs get up)
M: You risk your life to protect this wretched FLESHLING at the expense of EVERYTHING!
Transformers, Revenge of the Fallen
It begins mostly the same way, with Soundwave this time finding out some vital intel, and springing a plan into action.
Bumblebee chases down and captures her, and at that point, Alice recieved a transmission from Soundwave, inform them of an attack coming, and just give them a faulty location.)
THEN IN COMES THE FOREST FIGHT, AT LEAST 9 DECEPTICONS SPREAD OUT ACROSS A LARGE AREA.
"You should've accepted my bargain, Traitor Prime!"
Then Starscream fires his Null Ray at OP's back, the devastating weapon killing him just in time for everyone to see Optimus thrown by Starscream off of Devastator's back. Ironhide orders the Autobots to attack, most of them do, but they're clearly scared and horified of Devastator, nobody could put a dent on Devastator as he just walked away into the forest, Starscream and Soundwave fly off.
THE FALLEN'S ANNOUNCEMENT
Starscream and Soundwave talk on the building, where the former explains how he was on a mission to reclaim the Allspark and revive Megatron, so that he may overthrow the Fallen, who had long ago lost his respect and loyalty due to his questionable decisions during the war, such as trying to dispose of Megatron to get rid of a potential usurper who ALWAYS wanted the throne.
He finally wants the information seated in my brain!"
SW & SS: "Lord Megatron!"
M: What are you doing, here? Soundwave?
(rought version, Oh, we killed Optimus Prime and convinced these pathetic meatbags to bring you back!)
Megatron glowers, and stares at Starscream before hitting him.
"The Allspark's power is gone..."
But...they're next to the Smithsonian Aerospace Museum!

SAM: ...Optimus Prime?
JETFIRE: Yes, if he was truly a descendant of one of the 7, then the power in his Spark is an energy like no other, imprinted on his genetics, he would be able to revitalize the Allspark by transferring energy into it, only a Prime would be able to do this. It was with this ability in mind that the Primes sent one of their own into the cosmos to gather enough energy to recharge the Allspark, and put an end to the energy crisis.
CUT TO MEGATRON, SW, AND SS
SS: But you and Optimus are brothers by blood!
If we need that one insect to revive our planet, then we mu-
MEGATRON (slaps Starscream): Shut up!
(BACK TO JETFIRE)
EPPS: So what you're saying is that Sam is a goddamn PRIME?
(MEGATRON)
The Allspark itself must choose to make you a Prime, and it can only do so by migrating its power inside you of its own volition.
(JETFIRE)
No other form of energy is powerful enough for a reliable conversion process to put inside the cube, no one wants to mess with anti-matter, and plasma? Ha, good luck transferring that to the Allspark without destroying your body. The Prime's expedition employed a machine to convert vast amount of energy into energon, any kind of energy.
Jetfire looks up
JETFIRE: But Its original method was to harvest energon by destroying suns.
They restrained the Fallen, but could not kill him, but what they could do was use what was left of their Primal Energies to make Earth's location impossible for anyone currently present there to remember, and something else, too)
JETFIRE: The Six remaining Primes banished their brother to an extra-dimensional prison, and the Seekers scattered to the stars.
Jetfire's voice gets sad
JF: Two hundred thousand cycles we waited, so long that we ran out of whatever energon rations we had by the your civilization started really taking off.
Jetfire stares intently
JF: Run.
RATCHET: Optimus Prime's brother
IRONHIDE: And the greatest of the Decepticon Warlords
SAM: He plans on overthrowing The Fallen
JETFIRE: ANOTHER Decepticon Prime?
Jesus Christ. Didn't read but what a comment
@@JMObyx how would you rewrite Dark of the Moon. I am interested in knowing
He’s always done better in the tie in games than the movies for some reason
I see someone had figured out about Transformers H.U.D ^_^
🤖🚛🔫
What was the suggestion Affleck gave him?
@@RetrospectGreg Armaggedon involved oil drillers being trained to become astronauts to stop the asteroid. From what I heard, Affleck actually asked Bay "Hey, wouldn't it make more sense and take less time to simply train astronauts in drilling than the other way around?"

@@zemox2534 he's a producer now more than anything else and both Travis and Steven have expressed Michael was fun to work with. Bay makes a better producer than Lorenzo though
7:07 this is how megatron should have been in bayverse
TF2 (Shard v AllSpark): The AllSpark killing him but a small shard bringing him back I tend to see as “too much of anything isn’t good for you, and way too much can kill you”
TF2 (Original Ending): Why the original ending didn’t make it in the film is because, according to Michael Bay, they ran out of time so had to rush the ending
Bumblebee: He actually appears as his gun alt-mode in the hands of Soundwave
Bayverse Megatron really did sucked. The greatest and feared leader of the Deceptions was reduced to a dependent lackey who can barely defend himself. It's just so embarrassing to see Megatron getting his ass handed to him throughout the movies. Usually that's more of starscream's thing or waspinator from beast wars. XD This is Megatron! One of the strongest and smartest villains in Transformers history.
07 Megatron is peak Megatron. A shame he was relegated as a minion after the 1st film.
"Prime are born, not made..."
Ok sure, Orion Pax.
Tbf, was he Orion Pax in this continuity?
@@RetrospectGreg In the Bayverse, he was always Optimus. He never started out as Orion Pax, like in most other continuities.
He was never Orion pax in the movies. He was born a prime.
At the very least in ROTF Megatron succeeds at killing Optimus during the forest fight, before Sam learns a way to resurrect him with the matrix.
Honestly if I had to pick the best written Megatron? I'd go with IDW Megatron
You can't have a bloody character with zero development, just appear out of nowhere, and get tossed aside later on
Especially when the character is suppose to be the main fucking villain of your franchise.
@@zemox2534 but he’s not the main villain of the franchise. Just some slap in the face fan service
@@Everlost_Nation megatron is the main villain in transformers, as a franchise.
how can you say you like him already when theyve shown nothing about him yet lmao
Megs going all “Sauron” on the autobots would have been amazing and now I feel robbed.
they shouldve kept megatron a big threat. as the movies progress, he gets more and more cowardly... imo love how his design progresses, but take dotm as an example: instead of being ashamed, i feel as if true megs would wear his scars with pride, and fight twice as hard after his defeat. hes ruthless and relentless, and will stop at nothing REGARDLESS of damage & injuries (take the g1 movie for example) thats what makes him so threatening. he was too much a coward in bayverse and that hurt my soul lol
i LOVE his new design in the beeverse/reboot, super menacing, wayy bigger than most bots... hopefully he shows up soon
I'm guess rise of the beast post credit scene will be megatron coming to earth with the decepticons we know like starscream, soundwave, and more
Definitely why bayverse really sucks to me even though i grew up with em
But i heard rumors that megatron is actually in the bumblebee movie in a form of a gun used by soundwave in his first appearance, that would be really wild
Maybe Transformers One will show someone what a true reboot is... and how to do Megatron right.
Lorenzo?
@@RetrospectGreg Not involved in that, Primus be thanked
I'm not surprised it's not too much. Michael Bay didn't do right in his movies. I think he did just about. I mean just about everything was wrong
I made a video about OP too
@@RetrospectGreg Cool, I'll check it out.
people always talk about him like he was good in the first movie but he wasn't. he failed to catch sam on foot despite being 35 feet tall, landing behind him and being a living jet. he crash landed on earth being the only transformer in the series known to crash land.. in the arctic circle when his objective was in usa. he ripped the smallest autobot in half then ran away when he could have beaten everyone there, his fight with optimus sucks, he looks awful, he's not leading
it's insulting. starscream was infinitely cooler than megatron in the first two but people act like he's accurate to the original when they have nothing in common
Alot of mistakes, here is alot good explained ruclips.net/video/g9pmPypZh-Y/видео.htmlsi=KnrubLvIUWgl_xAM
Magatron was never mindcontroled be Quintessa, they had the same goal.
That's a you problem. It's easy to tell them apart 😂
@@TheRealRiptide01 Tell me how? LOL
@@DungarooTV are you seriously acting like their not designed completely different from eachother?
@@proxywolfx I'm serious. Too similar.
@@DungarooTV lol yea just a you problem 😂
Nothing
Bayverse is pure incoherence. Nothing there can be good😅
The vfx/sfx and soundtrack. That’s pretty much it.
BAYVERSE ORIGIN STORY IS TRASH IN IDW COMICS REALLY
BAYVERSE MEGATRON IS SO BAD
Gen 1 Design is A product of its time and should stay there. We're in a totally new age where things should be drawn and animated. A lot better like the Bay verse actually. Was this whole blocky square shape and what not very boring?
His og design didn't age well. I prefer the transformers armada design where he looks like a tank stag beetle combo
