I tried to reform my push-up after watching this video, and it’s definitely harder than I cheat it, my back sore a lot the next day😅 thank you for this video😊
Agree, good form is key - much better to do 20 really strict pushups than 50 x 2-inch jerk fests ;-) I find the super slow pushup a great way to build strength (1 minute up, I minute down). For beginners, personally I've found doing pushups on raised surfaces (at different heights) better than knee pushups, though the banded variation sounds good.
you are amazing by all means, very knowledgable and your routines really work, i did purchase you calisthenics course 2 years back, very credible couch
I am 63 and I never move forward with pushups. I do them here and there but quit after 10 reps. Watching this made me realize that I have to analyze my form. I don't think I paid attention to my arms before. I think I have them positioned wrong. I will try your suggestions. I also loved how you explained the back musles. I need to see what I was normally doing with those. Loved your explanations. Will get back in a few weeks to update my progress.
If one followed your suggested Monday and Thursday schedule, would we also want to do the rest of our body part workout on those days? That is, back, biceps and other shoulder exercises.
@adamfrater when you talk about a good trip range for building strength, what would that be please? I'm concentrating on form and can't do many reps yet, but I'm slowly building up. What should I look to build up to please?
my initial issue when trying to do pushups is my wrists. I have reduced range of movement in my wrists so as soon as I get into the pushup position I'm in pain from my wrists. Any way round this?
To each their own. This is a good video for trainers. A lot of technique specifics to flag. 15 minutes is a good investment if you plan to do pushups 10 minutes every other day going forward. Technique is so important in the beginning so you don’t repeat common mistakes over a long time period.
A pull up version of this video would be great with the progressions!
Yeah
Deffs need that
yess @adam frater please
yes😊
Yess

Best Push-Up explanation/demonstration on the entire interwebs.
I got an injury doing pushups exactly for the reasons you mentioned. Thanks again for the tips

This is so informative and useful. Just tried the push-ups in this way, and although I’m not very strong, I managed 10 push-ups with perfect form.
By far the best explanation and advice on pushups I’ve found up to date
The band is an excellent idea. I saw Pavel Tsatsouline suggest that same method a few years ago.
Awesome! Thank you so much, just learned a lot. Will do! 😊

This is exactly the video I was looking for. Thanks!!
I wish your microphone was more shredded though.

Thank you for your helping and I appreciate your help
oooh my adam, thanks! i'm doing now this..🇵🇭
Hi Adam, just discovering you and subbed! Can you do a fullbidy follow-a-long mobility warm up please?
You found also that activation can maximized by using eccentric and hold in the same push up excercise.
Nice one 👏👍💪
Awesome video dude
Beautiful lesson…!
Awesome. Thank you.
Good to see you bro love from Pakistan 🇵🇰
I sometimes wear a weighed vest doing pushups.
Great video! Great explanation! Thanks!
Good bro Adam from INDIA

What about wall standing push-ups for beginners and people with knee issues.

Explosive up , contract , slow controlled down, stretch.
do i need to do pushup everyday?

Doing it on wrists or parallettes helps a lot because your wrists are in a neutral position
He’s like a ripped Ferris Bueller.
How old are you adam
👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
You are physical fit
I’m glad you said we could use our knees, I’m fat lol
Ma ci vuole qualcuno sotto!!!😅🤭🏳️🌈🏳️🌈🏳️🌈👍🤤😏😉😀
Why not show the correct technique first and then discuss what not do in the end . A simple push up video unnecessarily extended for a long time .
show us then genius

Why don’t you do a video showing that ?
The first minute is just a waste of time.
exactly
It's not a waste of time 4 people who have no knowledge of having a good form or even KNOW how 2 do a push-up 😒🙄
