well, I just looked at all the comments and you took the time to respond to each one... not everyone does that. This gesture means a lot to me. Thank you
Really great video and drill. (I went dark for holidays so just seeing it now). I really struggled with the “recentering” bit of the shift turn which either left me on my trail side or way over on my lead. This is so simple and effective. Tx
Great drill, really puts the feels in, I love this - as many of your content- and the cross handed drill. Reminds me of another great coach I can really relate with. Pete Cowan. Keep up the great work
Great video! Some instructors tell us to unweight trail foot before the backswing is complete. Is that also an option or am I crazier than what my wife thinks I am?
Love this video. I feel like when focusing on my turn, I was trying to keep everything below the waist still as I used to sway. I feel like this gives me a greenlight to treat my swing a little more athletically.
Hey Eric, good stuff. I get you need to do this with every club but how do you do this and still stay behind the ball, especially with driver? Is that just separation from upper and lower body?
Yo! 1. Partially from setup because with driver you start more tilted back 2. More side bend and extension in downswing ruclips.net/video/TJtx-qVSgVU/видео.html&pp=ygUbRXJpYyBDb2dvcm5vIGRyaXZlciB2cyBpcm9u ruclips.net/video/vj3py9jZ6q8/видео.html&pp=ygUbRXJpYyBDb2dvcm5vIGRyaXZlciB2cyBpcm9u These may help explain more
Clever use of iron in chest but I really liked slight shift to right foot. does that feeling ultimately wind up on the rt. heel at the top of the swing? Your move toward target looks to me that you're rotating on left heel. Am I seeing this correctly? Be good-Russ
Yes sir. I think shifting slightly off the ball then shifting forward has almost become a four letter word. Can it be overdone? Sure, as almost anything that happens in the swing can be overdone. Harvey Penick used to say if you have a headache you take one pill not the whole bottle. A little of something in the golf swing usually goes a long way. 👊 🤘. Good job Eric.
Eric, when I start with the club 1-2 ft ahead of the ball I can feel the shift vs. starting from right behind the ball. Any suggestions? Appreciate your help.
Hey John! 1. You could hit like that if you wanted 2. Try pressing into and then off your lead foot at setup to start the swing to mimic the same feels Our friend Trevor hits like that often
Hey! Toward left toe in very early part of downswing and they back toward heel Full details on that here: ruclips.net/video/S-sWOuNt_O8/видео.html&pp=ygUZRXJpYyBDb2dvcm5vIHdlaWdodCBzaGlmdA%3D%3D
Was actually trying this at the range today and I cannot wrap my head around weight shift. Am I supposed to be pushing off my trail foot to my lead foot and then applying appropriate downforce on my lead leg? My rugby training tells me that when I shift my weight I'm supposed to be pushing. Confused. Please help.

Yes, the old timers called it a slight bump, it happens when you start down, the backswing pressure happens naturally when you swing back. If you allow it. You feel zero tension, soft, relaxed, reactive, oily. Take your pick
The only issue I have with all of these 'weight shift' videos is that the exaggerated move down and into position just isn't replicated when the full swing happens moments later. Yes, there is movement down and in - but it is all happening so quickly. In my view it's more like dancing. The weight shift needs to be completely unconscious, happening more like a throwing motion. Nobody has to think about throwing a ball over arm towards a target because most of us have done it since we were kids.
My biggest killer is early extension at impact. Doesn't seem to matter what I do I cannot get that motion of rotating and bending into the downswing! @@tomgosling4458
Slow exaggerated movement is a good way to train the body to move. Once the mind and body adapt, the movement will become more efficient. The golf swing is not an intuitive motion for most people, especially if they are starting later in life. Videos and drills like this are very helpful for many. They may not be hepful for everyone but that is the beauty of today's world, it's like a buffet where you can take what you like and leave what you don't.
Hey! First thing I would check would be to see if you have enough EXTENSION (raise hips, hips forward, head back).....thats the main piece through the ball that SHALLOWS the angle of attack If you are extending correctly and still hitting down too much then thats almost always a swing direction issue. I would bet if you feel your hips raising more through impact with head back and hand path UP and In that solves that if not send videos to www.cogornogolf.com that should be no problem to fix
Great video! I really like how you credit other instructors as well. Class act!
Appreciate it!

Appreciate that my friend! Hope this video helps your game!

Appreciate it---you got it!! Hope it helps
Kinda odd, I've been a scratch player for 30 years, I feel like you're helping me learn to swing the club the right way. Better late than never!
Glad to hear it!

Haha yes thats an option
so easy to understand and so simple 👍
Thanks Alan!

Glad you enjoyed this one, Greg! Hope it serves you well!
I tried this at the simulator and increased my ball speed from 156mph to 166mph. Such a simple yet amazing concept. Thanks, Eric!
Love to hear that Gary!

Yes you are!
Brilliant! Thank you.

Sorry about that---thanks for letting me know! Should be all fixed now---my bad. www.cogornogolf.com
Are you shifting just laterally or over towards front foot?
Hey! Toward left toe in very early part of downswing and they back toward heel

Is it good to do a little forward press to your left side and then shift to your right before you turn
Like Henric Stenson... right?
Yep lots of players do that!
Website states annual memberships are sold out . Is this correct?
Dang sorry about that----technical issue.
Should be all good now: www.cogornogolf.com

Fair point. But it takes a huge change in feel to create a small change in reality.

“Step, swing, step, swing” - the step gets everyone to shift!
