I could not imagine that I had lost a healthy life in just a blink of an eye it broke me but one day I woke up looked in the mirror and said to myself its not my fault but it sure is my responsibility. I haven't looked back since I cannot emphasis how important our attitude towards any adversity is, it changes the game big time I wish anyone who is struggling will find just enough courage to redirect their minds towards a healthy attitude as it makes everything bearable to a certain extend

This was awesome. I’m 29 and just diagnosed with diabetes, although not sure which type yet. Blood results to show in the coming months. But I don’t think that matters. These pillars hold true for any type. I was feeling a bit down but this reinforced the idea I or anyone else with diabetes can live a normal life.
Get your cpeptide and other tests done. I was under the impression that I have type 2 diabetes from past 10 years and could reverse it...but after the tests a week back found its Type 1
Everything is hard with it especially being diagnosed so young I was diagnosed at 5 now I’m 10 and my dream is to find that cure one day and I’m gonna stick with it!
❤️ Do you drink water instead of “soda” (really sugared water)? Of course type 1 diabetes and type 2 diabetes are extremely different, and don’t know which you may have. Take good care of yourself, especially eating healthy, organic *real* food. Best of everything to you and your family, Gracie! Enjoy staying active and reading and school! 🙋🏽♀️🙋🏽♀️

@@USBionicMarine type 1 is definitely irreversible. Whether or not type 2 is truly curable or reversible is debatable. By reducing your carb intake you can improve your insulin sensitivity in prediabetes and Type 2, reduce your dependence on diabetes medications, and/or put your Type 2 into remission. But if you return to high carb eating and your are insulin resistant or carb intolerant, those issues can very well come back.
@@sabrinazakrowski1399 you can't put type 2 diabetes into remission that is a myth. Your Pancreas lost beta cells that produce insulin. Your Pancreas is quitting and dieing. Beta cells don't regenerate. If they did regenerate you would not be diabetic. There is Carbohydrates even in vegetables. So there is no way you can keep this up even with diet. Adventully your cells starve and your body starves. The research scientists know this. Dr Andrew Stuart was trying to make new beta cells using drugs but drugs will never cure this. There needs to be a biological cure and without anti rejection medications.
@@USBionicMarine the possible remission I spoke of was for type 2. But the underlying carb intolerance and reduced capacity for processing carbohydrates still remains, and if the person resumes high carb eating, the diabetic symptoms will return. I already know that type 1 is an incurable autoimmune disease.
Everyone wants to make money on us. The pharmaceutical companies who charge so much for insulin in America. Insulin is much cheaper in Europe and Canada. My doctor wants me to come in every 3 months to check my blood levels and and such she wants to make money. I just got so sick of it I couldn't take it anymore cause I just knew it was all baloney. I've lost a lot of weight. And not on medication I don't need. I feel so much better.
I'm feeling like I'm prediabetic and my tests show I'm borderline. I'm going to try keto or carnivore diet. Many people have tried this and it kept their blood levels in check. Have you checked these diets out?
One of the biggest improvements for those of us dealing diabetes is the long term insulin like Lantus. Next would have to be the blood testing. In the past we used urine and a litmus type paper to check our glucose level. It seemed you were always in a bathroom peeing in a cup before and after a meal. Or after doing some strenuous work. My roommate was a type 1 and it was worse for him. He'd found out when he was 12. He passed out and went into a coma for a short while. By the time we were 16 he was as thin as a real, constantly checking his glucose. He and I kept candy on us in case we were too low or a piece of fruit. I got into the habit standing where I could smell his breath while he was speaking for the tell tale smell of Juicy-Fruit Gum indicating he was in Ketoacidosis, low blood sugar but actually a PH imbalance. You can tire of this routine after a while so sometimes you tempt death eating or drinking things you shouldn't. What the heck, I've insulin on me, I'll just take some and I'll be alright.
I was told years ago I had diabetes. So I lived many years as a diabetic. But as time went by & I learned more I was told I was a pre-diabetes. then I was told I want's pre-diabetic. then it seems I am again pre-diabetic. What a crazy ride... I am going to try to eat more plant based again. & do intermittent fasting as I have been doing. however it seems my blood sugar plays tricks on em. Sometimes a bit high, npt too high & then out of the blue dropping after I at candy & ice cream. So weird.. Anyhow I believe U can control your blood sugar & keep diabetes at bay & not ever have too many serious problems with it f U stay on top of it & play it smart & wise.. Enjoyed your talk!!
I have had similar inconsistent diagnosis of prediabetes. Sometimes I am diagnosed as prediabetic and other times not. I have a weird reaction to sugary, starchy and salty foods. I experience aches in my muscles and joints anytime I eat such foods. I feel so exhausted and drowsy and usually fall asleep for about an hour. I am wondering if these symptoms have anything to do with prediabetes. My recent blood test results show I am not prediabetic. Have you found any luck regarding your inconsistent diagnosis?
Guys, how can a 24/7 adversary be a "blessing in disguise"? Sure, crisis can be turned into an opportunity, that is a fact, but having something like chronic illness for me feels like a punishment. I can only partly control my T1D. The best control I have of it is when I am not thinking about it. Which is quite bizarre! We need to cure it not control it for the rest of our lives or we get sick of it and thoughts of suicide start slowly to creep in.
