It would be easy to think Claire just eats the food Aaron has worked hard to prepare. But if you watch other food shows, you know that describing dishes in a way that enables us to imagine the taste is very difficult, and requires a deep knowledge of food. Thanks Claire!
Hey Chefpk, are you stalking me? Why are you everywhere I go? I mean I'm not complaining I'm just asking. @Aaron and Claire love your recipes. This opened me to flavors I've never had before.
aaron and claire, this is my first time being early, and i just want to say that your videos have changed my cooking skills completely. i used to be pretty mediocre, but now like everything i make is just so good. thank you !!!
I made hotteok with my sourdough starter! One of my fillings was kimchi and bacon with cheese. If you want to convert instant yeast to sourdough starter it’s about 100 g of fed starter to 5-7 grams of instant yeast.
@@AaronandClaire The kimchi was to make sure I had some to eat becasue Dad ate the green onion and Chinese Sausage filled ones! He really likes green onion.
We are about to get an ice storm in my state tonight/tomorrow. I know what I'll be eating to fend off the cold! Also the dog in the background was so funny!
Hats off to Claire for being able to describe her experience so well, if it were me, I would probably just say "Yep, this is delicious/yummy" to everything. :D Great video and recipe as always, thank you!
I'm not a beginner cook, but I still really appreciate how simple and straightforward you make your videos! No unnecessary long boring intros, great tips, and nice personality!
I have a hotteok presser at home - even as a foreigner! I love making hotteok‘s and the presser can be used for many other things, such as making your own tacos or naan bread. It‘s actually very convenient :)
Amazing!! I was just thinking: I really wanna make some Hotteok sometime..... and then your video pops up!! Thank you so much Aaron! Truly a life-saver 🙏🏻☺️
Glad i discover this channel, i like the simple approach for a beginner cook like me, it gives me confidence that i can easily follow his instructions. Thanks a lot!
Aaron! Thank you for posting your videos around supper time ... I watch them while eating my salad. Taking visualization to a whole new level 😂 Makes my boring meals more pleasant 😁
These all look great! Each one being so different but equally inviting. I love Claire's enthusiasm, especially when she says You nailed it! I'm way down in Texas and it is really winter here. We even had snow at the beginning of the week and it's still on the ground. These three versions look so irresistible right now. I'm ready to be warm! Thanks for sharing, I love watching you two!
This is perfect timing! I was just looking for some recipes like this today! And super excited for the last one too because my sister can't have flour, but I know she would love these! Thank you, Aaron and Claire!
I wanted to try making hotteok for quite a while and now there's no excuse not to make some. 😄 I am not from Korea and actually where I live, we don't have all the ingredients, which are used in Korean dishes, and because of that it's very hard to cook some traditional korean food. But ever since I found your channel, it changed everything. Thank you for giving me simple ways and alternatives so I can enjoy much or less some Korean dishes. 💜
Tried this recipe and HAD to comment how amazing it was. The dough was probably one of the best I’ve ever tasted. It was super chewy and moist but also crispy on the outside. I made hotteok a while back with a different recipe and the dough was very dry but this is just *chef’s kiss*
ME: Noodles headed to my mouth. Hears Aaron’s voice….”Don’t taste the noodles. It will be hard to stop. Hang in there!” Puts the noodles down, and feels like I saved the world! 💪🏼 That was a close call!
Aaron and Claire do it again. Korea will definitely be on my list of travel destinations (once it's safe to travel again). Thanks for the entertaining and tempting videos when everyone can use a happy distraction!
I am a big pototo lover so I will try the potato hottoek. Also, it has the fewest ingredients for the filling. Always easier to do. Love that you showed your pup in the background
One of my new favorite recipes. It's so simple with a lot of reward. I know the potato one especially I'm going to be doing every time I have some that are about to go bad.
Yes!! K-street food! 😍😍😍 I am def gonna try these! I wonder if we will see Claire cook for Aaron. 🥰 We would love that. Then she will call, ‘Aaron’ for the taste test 😆😆
I just made them for a culture proyect and as we chose South Korea we decided we were doing Dalgona and Hotteok, Today I made them and they taste delicious( my mom just helped me cooking them and keeps calling them "Gorditas dulces coreanas" 💀💀💀 🇲🇽🇲🇽🇲🇽). They are stunning, they my new hit. I did changed the recipe just a bit using almond milk and coconut oil instead of butter(because some students are either vegan or lactose intolerant). Overall, everything came out perfectly and I'm actually glad I gave them a try! I'm surely doing them again for some future party or something! (Sorry if I have some grammar or spelling mistakes, as I commented I'm Mexican, therefore English isn't my maternal language)
I really want to try that mashed potato one. That looks good. Update: I tried the potato with cheese one. So great, and so easy. We loved it. Thanks for the recipe.
Your video got me searching high and low but I can't find anyplace that makes them. So I was going to make them myself but I hadn't gotten around to it yet. I made too much charoset for passover and decided I might make hotteok out of the leftovers so I cooked the charoset until it was dry and it made a lovely filling! I got the inspiration from your video and another RUclipsr I follow, and I'm so glad I did. Saved me from wasting food, and my kids think hotteok are great. Will definitely make the usual filling soon!
I actually made this but the prepackaged one. I didn't put oil in my hand and so my kitchen was attacked by spiderman. 🕸️🕸️ Wish I saw your video before!
I miss hotteok so much! I live in Canada and don't get it much anyways.. but there was some REALLY GOOD ones in a bakery, but it's closed rn, you know, because of corona -_-
