Despite hating this particular dress, this season of the show will always be one of my favourites. The unforgettable rainway, with Sean's stunning dress, often comes into my mind.
I wish Tim Gunn was a judge...he has more fashion sense than all the other judges put together and would never let that mess dress win lol.

In all honesty, if you don't understand how amazing that dress is, you don't belong in fashion.
Prank Girl Fashion is art. Not everyone is gonna get everything. Most ppl hated the dress. If you're so 1 dimensional that you feel like ppl HAVE to like something to understand fashion... honey YOU don't belong in fashion

I don't understand this look. The metal things look so cheap. They look like they're from a party store or Christmas tree. I don't dislike her as a person I don't know her, but I just don't like this.
I don't get it either. The metal bits don't look metallic as much as tinsel and the way they sway makes them seem extremely cheap. Had they been hard it might provide some contrast between structure and softness but as it is, I don't think it works.
Another thing that I see as a problem is the only way you can wear it is to put it on at your destination. You can't sit or lay down. I guess you'd need to be beamed like on Star Trek.

That's the point. Sometimes fashion is supposed to be a very expensive version of something that looks very cheap.
Tina Tika oh I didn't like her as a person. She was so defensive and a bit clueless to 9ter people's feelings. I really didn't get her rain outfit....ugh
@@missangiemissangiemissaaaa1280 The cluelessness was what got me when I first working with my Indian coworkers. I don't mean to be stereotyping. I am not saying all Indians are like so but it can* be a common trait. They* tend to be blunt, forward, straight to the point and maybe at times, slightly "less polite". I feel like culture difference and probably some language lingo lost in translation contribute to that. In similar rein, they are also the people who will be hardest to offend and are generally quite frank. She is very brave and it shows in her design.
I have grown to love my coworkers once I understood them better. Again, I use the terms "they" and "them" loosely and definitely are not representative of all Indian.
what drove me crazy is that she literally called the other woman's outfit (the army jacket with white dress) perfect! She said it was perfect for the challenge without being over the top and costumey Yet for no explanation they made this the winner.

Sean and Kini were my favorite designers throughout the entire season. They were so real, understanding and down to earth.
So did Amanda. She was not my favorite but her comment in this video is a close second best.
Mitchell is the last person that should have any say in fashion. His clothes is tacky and it shows his limited range of ability and creativity. Why was he even brought back for an all stars season?
Honestly, they are running out of people to bring back for All Stars. It's getting really evident.

Hated the 2 designs of hers that they loved and she won. I am not sure how the judges pick the winners. I really question the " judges" taste levels. Maybe they need a larger # of judges because the ones they have are so contradictory to their own statements, sometimes it's crazy. At lot of times I have no confidence in their expertise because their opinions change from designer to designer.
She made the ugliest outfits all season long and kept getting praises for it... made me wonder about the judges sanity and sobriety.
rexington john I know you posted this two months ago but it all comes down to opinion, I think she did ok, she wasn't terrible but designers have strong opinions and they think hating on others designs is gonna help them like worry about yourself. know your esthetic

sean kelly actually made a good point. to reiterate, the judges have seen so many designs that seeing something so out of the box and different is refreshing for them.

I did not get any of her looks and couldn't (and still can't) believe that she stayed as long as she did, let alone won anything!

Her work was always so tacky and cheap looking. Even Tim eventually said that he just didn't get it. Different doesn't mean good, yet the judges kept falling for it. Goes to show that 'fashion' is often just about people trying to appear hip and edgy.
I was confused about Sandaya's wins as well. Especially the first challenge. I guess that's why I'm not a fashion expert! lol

Her dress was a statement piece about the future. Recycling and industrial waste as embellishments, I thought the idea and concept was genius and sadly true, recycle and think green people
Kristine should have won that challenge.
I remember this look. I liked it and was relieved that the judges awarded it!
At the same time, I can see why some people wouldn't like her and her looks....

Let's be honest: this season's "prize" included the "opportunity" to design an outfit for Red Robin employees. I think that kind of kills it.
Lauren Conrad Gurl, there are thousands of designers up and down this country who would kill to have any company select them to make their uniforms for them.
Daniel that may be true, but it still feels like a real buzzkill after many seasons in which the challenge prizes were to have celebrities wear their clothing to industry events and having clothes feature in magazines and in billboards. After all that to design a uniform for a burger chain as the entire season prize seems disappointing.

the judges don't actually judge the contest, the producers do, and several past contestants have said so. The judges just list off the pros and cons of each garment made, and then editors go in and make it seem like the judges are the ones really picking the the looks.
they do sometime get to share their opinion on who they think should win but produces decide everything in the end.
Which was Harvey Weinstein.
I stopped watching the show somewhere along the way because the judges stopped judging properly. It became laughable seeing what they'd choose to win or lose.
And yet she had the best collection at NYFW that year so this is that.

LaLaItsCherryxo Even though the eliminated contestants don't win, they still get the opportunity to present at fashion week as to not reveal who the top 3 are.
G Ruedas I've heard that but I just don't understand the OP's comment, because we did see Sandra's collection. I think they're confusing her with Patricia. She was also really artsy and cultural and a lot of people didn't understand her.

Swapnil also never made it to Fashion Week, but still showed and had the blatantly best set. That peach dress and jacket was beyond phenomenal.
I thought Sandhya Garg's taste was awful. Didn't understand why she won a couple of times.
I really liked it. Sandhya is very talented. Her finale collection was awesome.

I was shock to see every poorly construct Mitchell's looks and every Alexander McQueen knock off Kini's looks... I guess we are even :)

The model wearing this dress is the winner of germany's next top model (by Heidi Klum) season 8 I think. Heidi Klum was very surprised to see her there
There is something that Sean says which sort of makes sense: the judges have seen so much, that when they see something new, maybe they get a little bit too excited. There is no way that ugly dress could have won. I remember when I saw it for the first time I was shocked as well.
i actually like the outfit she made. it really looks futuristic. it looks clean. the colour and the holo effect.
thats the problem, it was supposed to not be futuristic.
I actually liked her as a designer and I found that the other designers were just hating on her.

Sandhya's was the best look this challenge and she shouldn't have gone home as early as she did. Most creative and most thoughtful designer of that season.
Maybe the second part of your comment is true, but the look she went home over was truly heinous and it missed the mark entirely. I felt so sorry for that little girl...
Lee Almonte I didn't think she missed the mark THAT badly. Onsies are coming back as a fashion statement. She just shouldn't have made it so child-like.
I still didn't think it should have sent her home.
She was unusual, so they kept her around for ratings like a lot of reality Television shows do. But the look she went home over looked like it came from Walmart. It was a footie pajama without the footie part.
Her final collection was amazing too, one of the best I've seen from a PR designer

I thought it was weird and unattractive when this episode first aired. but i've been rewatching all PR seasons during stay at home orders. and when I saw this episode I really digged the dress this time around. i'm still not sold on the first episode winning look from her though. she was really bullied for no reason other than people being catty.

this dress shouldn't have..as an indian i was so happy to see an indian on project runway but sorry this dress was weird and ugly and some of her wins on certain dresses i felt were unwarranted and there were better designs that should have won!..

It's so clear-cut who belongs in fashion and who doesn't. The ones who understand this dress are the ones who clearly have what it takes to be in fashion, and the ones who think it was just ugly or cheap, are in the wrong industry.
I am sorry, but all these people just sound like they are jealous. The look that won was gorgeous, original, and hit the criteria exactly. Love the artistic vale paired with color choice and the movement.
1, I highly doubt they're jealous, they always congratulate other people who win when they don't. Even Tim didn't like her designs.
2, it didn't fit the criteria exactly Heidi had said that she didn't want it to look too futuristic, but for whatever reason she still won despite having that exact feel of futuristic.

ladyearin watch the episodes, nobody even talks to her, except Emily when Sandhya has a major breakdown. Besides my point to like her designs has been beautifully explained by me and sir Jack Treber below. If you say it's because of her design that they hated her, think again as even those designers got into bottom, but still spoke with each other. Primarily none of them could even pronounce her name correctly!! If other designs did fare well, why they weren't winners?? Given the benefit of doubt, those who were in bottom and top with her, can comment as they stand in same position, but what irks me is those contestants especially Korina who qualified to next round badmouthed Sandhya!! REALLY?? When others won, everyone cheered them, and were happy. Which wasn't with Sandhya. Also, never did Sandhya spoke bad about anyone. Are you a fashion designer to adjudge her dress a trash?
