This is the info I've been looking for between the two dryers. I was torn between the two and even decided that I should maybe pick up both. After visiting my local beauty supply store, the manager allowed me to play around with a Sam Villa dryer and I thought it was great. But I do like the power and stats that the Dyson holds. I asked the manager if she knew any stylists using this in the field because most reviews were from general public opinion, and she said the #1 issue people come to her with about the Dyson is the filter. After so many blow dries, it apparently just quits and you have to take it apart go through this maintenance deal with submersing the filter in solution for a certain amount of time, etc. Whereas with the Sam Villa dryer, one simply removes the back end counterclockwise and blow off the stuff built up in it and then put it back on. While the Dyson did sound like a pain, I think I would simply use a backup (like a Sam Villa dryer) and take care of the filter at the end of the day and have it ready for the next service. Besides, I don't know many stylists who have just one dryer. lol I started out with (and still use) a FROMM dryer and it works great, but gets heavy and cumbersome. So I think my next two dryers will be the Dyson and then the Sam Villa Artist Series Professional dryer. (Note: The Rose Gold right now, although beautiful to many, is going for $139 but it is not the same power as the Artist Series Professional dryer judging from the stats). Great video and thank you for sharing your experience with both dryers.
I bought both and had them both at the same time. I didn't find the Sam villa to compare in any respect. It was hotter and that was it. Even my sedu was way better than the sam villa. Glad i ended up trying the Dyson too
Cheekyface Murf absolutely, I do men's hair primarily so I mainly use a small round brush. You should have no problem and remember it is magnetic and the nozzle swivels easily

Did you actually pay for this Dyson or was it given to you?
The dyson is a lot better looking, but what about the drybar buttercup?
Very interesting......do you think the nozzle would be slim enough to concentrate the heat close to the roots for a tight small round brush blowdry?
