I realized that learning to read music was not helpful for me. It made things harder for me. I only learned the basics and the fundamentals behind the basics. I understand the notes and how the fit together and what they are called, but I cannot read music. Nor do I really need to because I can learn almost everything I need by ear. And if not, tabs exist.
The more you know the more resolution your musical idea can be presented in. Bob Dylan's sound was defined by his knowledge boundaries. Sometimes less is more.
Steve Vai while sitting next to Joe satriani, said youngsters lol. These dudes will always secondary father figures, especially when it comes to passing down the cultures of time through music.
I@haffajajr1 I saw Steve in 04 with Billy and the whole iconic line up. Blonde haired younger drummer. Small club... Steve Vai is the goat. I never saw someone play so perfect.
@haffajajr1 I think it was 04. Somewhere around then. But yea. He played for like 3 in half hours. Just nonstop. Epic bass solo, drum solo, every Vai classic. Jam sessions. Steve just killing it. Mind blown
I was scrolling down trough a ton of garbage and I found wisdom. Thank you internet, thank you rick
Exactly. Because then every band would be Bob Dylan. Love him or hate him, it's our uniqueness that makes us sound special/good.

I was wondering what the heck happened to Corey Feldman.
you get out of it what you put into it. Just like everything. Learning even just a bit of theory won't hurt you though
