So, we thought we'd take the time to answer a few frequently asked questions about using our marketplace and explain why purchasing a watch on Chrono24 is secure.

At the time you have released the episode I bought my 1st luxury (?) watch, Tudor Heritage BB, 79220R via chrono24. At first I was considering many other sellers, but I chose you Guys mostly because of the trusted checkout option. Watch appraisal is a great add-on as well. The watch is wonderful, thank you and see you at the next purchase ;)
yeah - one other thing to know is that everything thing takes AGES. Additionally buyer has to pay/cover the cost of return shipment when Seller sends wrong watch because nobody in Chrono cares. Happened to me - I paid for watch and for shipment - sent money to escrow. Seller had a Breitling watch, then they didn't, then they had slightly different model which I was happy to take. Then they 'sold' it in their retail shop when going through details with me - and then they sent wrong one (different model, different size, etc) and without full papers. My only option was to pay for the return shipment for watch I didn't order and then wait like 3 weeks for money to be returned. Bottom line - be careful - Chrono is probably best platform for used/second hand watches - but it is by no means good. I ended up buying retail, a new watch - spent more money but boy - such a different experience.
Chrono24 should take a more active role in private-to-private sale transactions, instead of taking a stance of a “moderator” in case of disputes. The buyer protection currently only covers purchases from trusted dealers which gives them an unfair advantage as buyers will be inclined to buy from them as a result (even if there’s a more competitive price offered by a private seller).

I have a question, can I have a bargain or the listed price on this chrono24 is fixed?
Out of focus poor quality pictures can be deceiving about the quality of the watch. Crono 24 should set standards about picture quality and that watch is also photographed from the sides not only from the front.
is there a problem with your website? I can't display all the images and all the brands... only the brands from A to C...
How do I use the watch scanner??
I have several problems with chrono24. 1. No feedback for private sellers only for authorized dealers. So you cannot leave feedback or read feedback in advance. So weird. 2 The app is very slow and unresponsive all the time. 3. The price suggestion thing is very cumbersome and weird at the beginning. 4. Technical help or answers are quite slow many times. Overall good it exists but needs a lot work.

Chrono24 is the best way to buy and sell watches in the world. I sold a watch to a person in Italy and bought a watch from a dealer in the UK. I paid 1/2 retail price, with Chrono24 I just don't pay retail prices.

@@Chrono24Official I bought a Oris big crown pointer date. The most interesting way to have the date complication. I have a Tudor black bay PO-1 on the way.another different watch.
But the watch was not new, right? Or did you you get a new watch for used prices?
@@radar7799 the watch is a couple of years old, I paid a little over half retail. The Oris runs great.
I wanted to buy a watch in Europe but they force me to send US Dollars to a bank account in London, rather than Euros which would not incur bank charges. I'm based in Asia. I find it outright stupid that they don't offer a payment option in Euros, especially if the seller is in a Euro country and the buyer is able to pay in Euros. Take care and read the terms and conditions, to avoid hefty bank or credit card charges.
What about selling on Chrono24?

Chrono 24 is a very glossy front end. I’m in Canada and have purchased 2 watches from them, one domestic which was easy and one from a foreign vendor which was a very unsatisfactory experience. Chrono 24 doesn’t seem to realize that there many complexities when buying and shipping valuable pieces across international borders. There is nothing on their shiny website to provide assistance or advice to purchasers who are buying a piece from a foreign vendor. Many of the problems arise from the lack of communication from either the vendor or especially the shipper. Most of the issues arise when the piece arrives at its destination terminal and then must clear customs. At that point all communication ceases and in many cases it will be days or a week before you hear anything more regarding delivery of your watch. Chrono 24 needs to more transparent about these issues so people are not disappointed by the poor service.
Are serial numbers checked?
As a UK resident am I able to buy from sellers outside of the uk as I have been advised not to by other people???
Yes you can, but due to Brexit you will have to pay VAT and import duties. I’m from the EU and bought a watch through Chrono24 in Japan. Watch cost me 2.900 EUR and additionaly I had to pay 580 EUR on VAT and import duties. I was aware of that (it still cost me less then buying the Same watch in Europe) but keep this in mind. Check with your local customs what import duties you may have to pay for watches outside the UK
what happens if I get a fake watch and it takes months for an Authorized Dealer to check the watch as they send back to Switzerland?
How do I know that the watch I am being sold is Authentic? Are any checks done on this
They ask the seller “is this watch genuine?” - that’s the extent of it.
Is it normal for the seller to ask for the email address from the buyer to conplete the transaction?
Terrible experience with this company, sold a watch privately and 3 weeks later I’m still waiting on a payout , won’t answer emails now they told me to not to call anymore!
I’ve now informed the police and reported the crime

If the seller is forced to upload real pictures as proof of ownership, how come there are listings with stock images?
Thanks for your feedback! I clearly see your concern. We have a time that is constantly checking these offer images to improve the quality on our platform. As there are almost 500k offers online on Chrono24 and this needs to be a manual check, we are not there yet! However, please note that there is an option to report suspicious offers.
Most if not all of the more luxury watches are not watches the seller has in stock. The photos are stock photos. And the watches don't seem to be in the possession of the seller. I think many of them take the order from the buyer on Chrono24 and then see if they can source the watch from an Authorised Dealer or something like that. Beside the "Availability" tab in the Chrono24 listing there will be a green, orange or red circle. If the circle is green it is available immediately, if orange they are not in stock (but they suggest a time line to get it to you) and red, they are not in stock and you will have to check availability. However this does mean they aren't telling the exact truth in this video. If they only accept listings for real watches that the seller has, then the red and orange listings in relation to availability would not be even an option on the platform. I think Chrono24 need to address this in their video and be a bit more honest in relation to this. Why provide the function in relation to availability if all the watches are supposedly checked before the seller can list them??? It would suggest that these watches aren't checked because the seller hasnt actually got the watch so Chrono24 can't possibly check it.
@@kevintyrrell9559 Some dealers even say the watch is available now, and it actually isn't. Not sure what is up with that!

Dont buy online better authorized dealer. The chances of buying a fake is very high.
Great video! I am planning to buy a New Seiko SPB143 watch on chrono24 through a seller in Japan. The price is excellent compared to prices in Europe or the United States. (Japan USD $779 vs EU/USA USD $1250). Should that scare me or raise suspicions about the authenticity of the piece? The seller has the Authenticity Guarantee by Chrono24 Buyer Protection. Thank you.
Japan often has the best prices these days, even for Omega, Rolex, etc. So that seems standard. You can check out ratings and reviews for each dealer on the watch's listing page as well. Enjoy!

It has nothing to do with the seller's listing or listing price.

All sounds good but I have already send 2 emails to yoyr suppoand have no response... I got sent warch with signs of wear but was labeled as new... Also happens to habe an issue with date changing.. Complete disaster... And I am unable to cont6you guys...
What's stopping one of these new private sellers sending you a fake? Maybe they show a real watch ti you and on the website, but then they send a fake. Who's word will you believe?

Warning….your certified checks are worthless. I was given a ‘certified’ address by Chrono 24 by a buyer for a Rolex and it turned out to be a fake address.
I asked Chrono 24 for help as it was their certification I had sent it to, but they refused to help me and could not tell me what they had actually done to ‘certify’ an address. They did nothing to help me sort out the mess they created.
So be warned….they are not as thorough as this video tries to say it is. I’m speaking from personal experience.

The number of Rolexes with fake/incorrect boxes or described as “unworn” when they obviously aren’t is quite worrying.
Not as worrying as reporting $20k watch described as “unworn” when it is scratched, has tool marks on it and a worn caseback sticker and Chrono24 refuse to do anything about it.
Isn’t there a 14 day guarantee?

Has scratches on the bezel and doesn't have any paperwork.
This is why it's important not to mess with sellers who have under 100 sales and less than a 4.8 rating.

Even with pictures of papers and boxes, it's possible to ship a fake watch to a buyer and con them out of their money, regardless of the payment system they use (like the Trusted Checkout).”
As I understood it, you are eligible for a refund, if you spot a fake, but there is nobody inspecting the watches before you’re getting them,
i pawned my seiko that's worth 450 bucks for 45 buck, next week I came back, they went out of business
10th thing you should know is that they will side with the seller no matter > try getting your money back , these guys are thieves and liars .
