Good information. The over-polishing issue is not as bad as it once was, but be careful with vintage watches. Bargaining isn’t completely taboo for all shopping. It’s essential when buying electronics in Akihabara, for example. Finally, you omitted department stores. They sometimes have special editions unique to the store (Omega does frequently), they are very familiar with the tax refund thing, and it’s a really great shopping experience.
If you're going to buy, take your passport. You need it to get the VAT refund. I needed to have it to make a purchase.
Thank u for highlighting Nakano Broadway. Dealers understand English language and allow use of credit cards. If you are hungry, basement floor offer a stand only Ramen shop from a low of 440 Yen onwards 😊.
Good tip on the camera shops. I found very good deals there.
Very nice video, I had an amazing experience in Malaysia - some of the nicest and most humble individuals. Even the Rolex boutiques have a no-snobbery outlook and are very honest. I visited the Grand Seiko boutique there and was amazed at how accommodating they are. I look forward to visiting Japan, especially the Seiko Museum. Thank you for the video.
Thanks for sharing!
Greeting from Malaysia and thank you for the kind words. Definitely does make me proud and happy for my own countrymen reading this.
going to tokyo next month so this content series is coming out at exactly the right time
Nice! Don't you love when that happens?
And how was it? you bought something? :)
This is great. Going to Japan next month too. Aside from the microbrands, I would love to find out which Seiko/Casio watches that you can only get in Japan.
Check out Seiko Sary192
@@Redondo_dom That watch looks great! More recommendations are welcome!
@@ScoreWithVince What Microbrands watch are you interested? And how was Japan? Were you able to find a lot Microbrand watches? Thanks in advanced!
And how was it? you bought something? :)
Another excellent vid in a run of excellent vids! This channel is really defining itself as one of the best in the watch space.
Much appreciated James!
Correct about the camera shops! Bic camera is the best place to buy a watch because if you are a forigner they right off the tax if you spend over 5500 yen 😊
Wow. Great tip!
If im going vintage watch shopping in Tokyo, what should I look out for?
Oops thought you meant Watch Symposium . 😂 love listening to Austin in Japan .
Good number of used shops in Shinjuko.
Very interesting take. Great job, Thomas. Cheers...
Thanks for the visit
Is it worth buying a Patek Phillipe in Tokyo considering the taxes, fees, US Customs, Duty?
Can you split payment method at the watch boutiques in Tokyo (especially Grand Seiko boutiques)? I’d like to down pay a certain amount with yen cash and pay the rest with credit card.
Shellman, Ginza main shop. Cheers !
I got my rolex 16570 from daikokuka. Great service!
Bought my sub brand new at Renzu in Nakano broadway
For pre loved watches, Osaka is the city for me!
Pre loved!?!? Come on man. We are not on luxury purse channel.
Any recommendations in Osaka?
@@atis23 maybe english is not his first language
2:40 that is some weird looking strap, never seen that before, interesting.
Ah it’s the Rolets guy!
Whoa, tiny watch on the wrist XXL long belt on the waist! 😮
I’ll have to check these places out if I ever go to Japan!
Don’t believe the Hype!, the prices are the same where you are!, 🤔!.(they are very smooth and smart people in Japan !, the price always reflects the internet!, Most times A little higher!, because of the high rent and high loan prices!.
jackroad in nakano, excellent service, 100s rolex and omega
Who are you looking at?
is that like a 30 mm watch you are wearing, Bro??
Yes, but it wears like a 31mm 😂
Hello, i want to know what watch are you wearing in this video? Thank you
@@Chrono24Official 😆

do their airports sell watches?
If you go to one watch shop in Tokyo (jackroad and betty) your standing in it in the video and no shout out!
50% of my collection of watches came from Japan and Ippuukishi is one of my best adress
Olivier, is ipouukishi is really reliable ? I wil go to Japan in few month and I am looking for a very reliable shop
@@titititi2549 , i bought 5 watches, never had a problem with them, watches where in excellent condition, with original box and papers, and sometimes re polished.
I only regrets to not travel to Japan and see Ippuukishi monster’s offers outside of Chrono24.
@@olivierorban787 thanks a lot for your answer. 🙏🏼
If Roletz speaks English, that's all I need.
I know you might not read this. But nevertheless I really want to know what strap you got on your speedy (min.: 2:41) in the video? Thx
@@dsant2811 thank you!!! A lot!!!
How crazy look with mask on face😅😂😢
Rolets?
What is up with that 20mm watch on your wrist?
My U-Boat is in for repairs 😂
It's dos (plural) & don'ts.
Does the grand seiko state offer discount on GS watches?
We were only there to look, but my gut says no
Talks about Nakano Broadway and shows Sun Road Plaza 😅
How tall is this poor guy?
About 1779mm from lug to lug 😂
Harrods London is the worst place is the World to buy a watch. Bunch of snobs
Mask, huh?
I have been watchshopping all over the world for both used and new and nowhere is as cheap with as large an inventory as....................Los Angleles, Miami and NYC. There I said it. The grass is always greener on the other side of course, so go to Japan and see how pricey the secondhand market is over there, and what´s the point of excellent customer service when your average Japanese salesperson doesn´t bother to learn the most important language on earth.
What’s with the masks?
🤣They've been wearing masks in Japan decades before Covid. They wear them so that they don't get other people sick.
The watch market is Definitely Dead in Japan !, sorry to tell you!, the Japanese have no time to wear watches or look at them!, it’s very hard to make a living pushing watches!. Don’t believe the hype!, 🤫
Hype looks good from a distance!, they use the internet for propaganda and price gouging!, for example they use a class prices for B class goods and so on!
No time to wear watches! Not even enough time to wear pants or shoes!!
They are all getting bankrupt because of apple and galaxy watch. Thats reality
Their target customers are different.
