  • Photoshop CC 2015 tutorial showing possibly the best technique to retouch skin in a photo. “Frequency Separation” retains the skin’s texture, while it removes blotches and imperfections. The result is flawless, realistic-looking skin without that “plastic”, overworked look.

Best method hands down. Seriously. I’ve watched many tutorials of frequency separation from many top RUclips photographers! But I still couldn’t figure out what I was doing wrong. Or would always have some discoloration or look messy. And I was so close to giving up using frequency separation. Until this came up on my recommendation. And I figured I’d give it one more go. And this has been hands down the easiest , and fastest method to use frequency separation! Thank you so much. I am super happy with the results! Finally!

same. I think it only works if the person has patches/pimples. for regular skin, this method is useless. try using refine mask for smoothing the skin from the pores. much simpler and faster imo.
