      this color palette is from 6500K whitebalance right?
      you do know that skintones changes depending on what whitebalance you have.
      low whitebalance and you get an more redish skintone.
      fixing that will ruin the mood in the picture.

      Funny that you think i want some kind of fast method to learn. I don't and i already manage to use photoshop properly (not that properly, tho). What i'm interested in is in Unmesh's story. That path he took, how he decided to become who he is now, what he went through while learning. i'm 200% sure that that will encourage SOOO many people to learn from their own and be as amazing as him, but in their own way :)

    Please answer this question. The color numbers for RGB don't match those of the color chart. What is wrong? Is that because the monitor calibration? I use three monitors and the numbers don't match in any of them for the second tone from the top it gives me 182/160/132 respectively on all monitors. Please help with this if possible.

    • @Nossaki

      Same here, and I have the same values than you, except they are for the second tone. Found a solution?

  • @JohnDlugosz
    @JohnDlugosz 5 лет назад +21

    It seems to me that for this particular image, fixing the setting that made the skin tones wrong in the first place would be a better approach. I expect that you took a good picture and messed it up to use as an example, by using the tint control on the color/tint adjustment or the WB adjustment when importing.
    I'd like to see this trick applied when the skin tones _really_ are strange, and can't be fixed by normal adjustments. Say, with a strongly colored reflection or colored lights. That is, something taken with available light, not with well-controlled lighting.
    When you have good lighting, there should be no reason why the skin tones are off. Just always shoot a grey cloth (better than a grey card) and you'll have no trouble setting the WB to match the lights, using the WB eyedropper.

    • @RamaSivamani
      @RamaSivamani 4 года назад +1

      Skin tones may still be off a little bit even when you use a gray card or cloth to set white balance. I've set white balance and still felt the skin tones needed a little adjustment. "Proper" gray card white balance I feel is a touch too cold when it comes to skin tones.

    it doesn't work, I did the first part according to the instructions (selected a color from the palette). But when I then eyedropper select the skin in the photo and the colors change dramatically depending on the point I click on, and by dramatically I don't just mean too much saturation, but the color can be blue/purple/green etc. I.e. to fix this, I have to tweak the color manually after each iteration, or poke at different parts of the face with a dropper, hoping to find a better tone that looks more natural than the original photo. This doesn't speed up the process, it slows it down, I might as well just analyze what's wrong with my skin tone and adjust it manually

    Hi ! I have a problem : First time i did it, ok no problems. Second, when i select the mid tones on the skin, the red curve is crazy, and my image is totaly red... I can easily drag the red down, but i dont understand why this happens ! Thx if someone can find a solution =D.

    Is there a more scientific way to go about this? This is way too much guesswork in my opinion.
    In davinci resolve you have scopes and a skintone indicator. This is such an amazing tool which is for some reason missing from Photoshop. And it is obviously a problem
