There is a new Amish Community in Arkansas. Located just north of Magazine Arkansas, Logan county. It's located on the west end of Mt Magazine. Thus community started the summer of 2022, with just a handful of families. Yell County Arkansas has several Mennonite church districts. I actually farm with an amish man. We are currently raising a wheat crop, and 30 acres of vegetables this summer.

    Dear Erik,
I was delighted that you mounted this video on the Amish of Tennessee. Knowing that largest community was that around Ethridge, which I visited in the early 1990s, I knew that I would enjoy the visuals. What a beautiful video you and Michael Pilkinton put together! I will watch it several times, so well done is it. I wasn’t expecting no voice over. It worked perfectly with the captions. Although this was a short video, at no point did it seemed rushed, or that you were cramming too much into it. Beautifully put together. Also, the music was suitable and not intrusive. Thank you for keeping the music in the background. A bad choice of music could easily have ruined this video. Please convey my gratitude to Michael Pilkinton for his superb and sensitive photography. And, of course, a very big thank you to you, Erik, for producing another excellent video. I wish I had the words to say how much I enjoyed this video.
    Sincerely,
    Larry Clarence Lewis

I am pleased to know there are more Amish villages. The world will be a better place when there are more of them despite some of their failings. On the whole, they are very good people.

Would love to see a video on the Amish in Virginia!
This video was beautifully done. Your captions stayed up a reasonable time. I prefer the voiceover because I’m legally blind but I didn’t feel like I had to rush to read the captions. Unfortunately, videos like this aren’t accessible to many of my blind friends. And one day they won’t be to me either if I live long enough.

Beautiful country, nice well kept homes. I would like to see the orange triangle for safety tho! I don't think there is anything cuter than Amish children I think it's the hats/bonnets and bare feet....Thanks once again Eric for sharing!

With or without commentary I love all of your video's, loved the quiet, peaceful feeling the music gave to these images. I'm a fan of the different signs, my favorite was for Sour Kraut, not our spelling but still conveying quite well what they meant and I don't know what a "pole barn" is but I'd love to find out. Thanks for sharing this with us Erik.

Two comments: I cannot get my mind around any group whatever they are that would ban an orange safety mark from their wagons and carriages. Well it may not be pre-19th century unfortunately none of us live in the 18th and 19th century and we have to contend with automobiles. With the bishop that offers this bit of advice rather have a family killed their children named? It makes no sense unless you’re totally out of your mind. The other comment is I live here in New England where we still have the remnants of Shaker communities. The shakers lived in someways like the Amish until they’ve all but they did away with only one community left in Maine. The difference I see between the shakers in the Amish we’re not including religion is that the shaker is produced extremely stylish yet incredibly practical furnishings architecture and agriculture. The army seem to lack any finesse in any of these areas. It’s not a criticism it’s just the way it is. I hope somebody Amish is out in their barn illegally looking at a cell phone and see if the part about the orange triangle and realizes they need to put this on their buggies and let the bishops go straight to hell. Peoples lives are at risk here and I hope one of them says this so I’m telling them they are to be ashamed of themselves.
