- Where to eat in Glasgow? What to eat in Glasgow? Next part of our road trip to Scotland.
After 2 days, 400 miles and 8 hours of driving we finally made it to Glasgow! It was a saturday night so I had booked a table beforehand.
We checked into our gorgeous hotel before heading off for our first meal in Scotland!
1. the finnieston (scottish seafood)
thefinniestonbar.com
1125 Argyle St, Finnieston, Glasgow G3 8ND
First restaurant of the trip: The Finneston! A casual restaurant/bar specialising in local, seasonal and sustainable seafood. I was super excited!
2. koko house (souffle pancakes)
kokohouse.co.uk
175 Great George St, Hillhead, Glasgow G12 8AQ
The next day we went for a wonder and ended up a koko house and i finally got to try fluffly japanese souffle pancakes!
3. the clydeside distillery (whiskey tasting)
theclydeside.com
100 Stobcross Rd, Glasgow G3 8QQ
Onsite, as well as distillery tours, they also have a shop and a cafe where you can try different whiskey flights (no pre-booking required). Chris did the plimsoll and I did the moonraker and they were amazing at telling us about the whiskeys we were trying and where they came from.
4. the gannet (tasting menu)
thegannetgla.com
1155 Argyle St, Finnieston, Glasgow G3 8TB
For dinner we managed to get a last minute booking at the Gannet. This was out favourite meal of the trip! The food was amazing and the service was excellent. Each dish had a delicious little twist and the wine pairing was spot on! The chefs use locally sourced seasonal ingredients and take inspiration from their travels and experiences to create the dishes.
The Asian inspired oyster was amazing, the main was one of the best I've had on a tasting menu and the cheese course was really creative... instead of the the usual cheese pieces it was a whipped blue cheese mousse which was SO GOOD!
5. ka pao (asian fusion)
ka-pao.com
26 Vinicombe St, Glasgow G12 8BE
The next day we went checked out ka pao for lunch. Asian inspired menus with small sharing plate concept. The scallops were MASSIVE and tasted amazing!
6. kelvingrove café (restaurant and cocktail bar)
kelvingrovecafe.com
1161 Argyle St, Finnieston, Glasgow G3 8TB
After a quick snooze, we headed over to the kelvingrove cafe for some pre dinner cocktails. Its a gorgeous building with original features restored both inside and out.
7. ox and finch (casual sharing)
oxandfinch.com
920 Sauchiehall St, Finnieston, Glasgow G3 7TF
For dinner we headed over to the ever-so-popular Ox and finch which also has a tapas style sharing plate concept.
8. tubbees dessert lab (slushies)
tubbees.co.uk
675 Paisley Rd W, Bellahouston, Glasgow G51 1RP
The next day we went to check out tubbees which claims to have 81 slushie flavours!
9. crabshakk (scottish seafood)
crabshakk.co.uk
1114 Argyle St, Finnieston, Glasgow G3 8TD
I hadn't been able to book crabshakk so we went to try our luck as a walk in. Luckily it was still pretty early for dinner so we managed to get a table.
10. xing fu tang (bubble tea, souffle pancakes)
xing-fu-tang-glasgow.business.site
100 Byres Rd, Glasgow G12 8TA
For dessert we wandered over to xing fu tang for Taiwanese bubble tea and more jiggly pancakes!
11. tantrum doughnuts (handmade doughnuts)
tantrumdoughnuts.com
various locations (we went to 27 Old Dumbarton Rd, Glasgow G3 8RD)
No trip to Glasgow is complete without a visit to Tantrum doughnuts! It's on every Glasgow "must-try list" and is a doughnut lovers paradise.
12. loop and scoop (churros and gelato)
loopandscoop.com
665 Great Western Rd, Glasgow G12 8RE
Another "must-try" location is loop and scoop for churros and gelato.
13. innis and gunn glasgow (brewery taproom)
innisandgunn.com/taprooms/glasgow
44 - 46 Ashton Ln, Hillhead, Glasgow G12 8SJ
For a quick snack and spot of people watching we nabbed a table outdoors at Innis and Gunn on Ashton Lane.
14. the butchershop (steak)
butchershopglasgow.com
1055 Sauchiehall St, Glasgow G3 7UD
For our last meal in glasgow we couldnt leave without sinking our nashers into some quality Scottish steak! We headed over to The Butchershop which serves 100% Ccotch breed grass fed black Angus and Limousin steaks and their cuts on the bone are hung and dry aged for a minimum of 45 days. We booked dinner quite late and they only had the larger cuts on the bone left so we went for a monster 1.3kg porterhouse for the 2 of us!
OMG that thing was a beast but we PICKED IT CLEAN! I reckon I managed to get at least 100g which was still stuck to the bone!
15. alamo guest house
alamoguesthouse.com
46 Gray St, Kelvingrove, Glasgow G3 7SE
Ok so this last place is not a restaurant but deserves a mention. The breakfast which was included at our hotel was AMAZING! They have a menu of hot and cold items and cook everything to order. Ingredients for the full scottish breakfast are locally sourced and delish! They also have loads of veggie option and items like tatty scones and haggis.

If you're going to Glasgow, take a 10 minute train journey to Paisley. There's some really nice cafes and restaurants there as well. I can give some suggestions, if you want.

Th Clydeside Distillery is a really good distillery. Paisley also has few really good cafes and restaurants.

Really well done video. Unfortunately I hate fish, so most of the stuff is not something I would eat. Those fluffy pancakes looked great though
Glasgows food options are huge, rivals most cities
Too much music cannot hear what you say!

Great vid. How many days did you do this over?
Thanks! We were in Glasgow for 4/5 days 👍🏼
Just a quick note to you, the text on the screen at 2.42 mentions "whiskey" this is the Irish spelling. The Scottish spelling is whisky, there is no "e" in the Scottish spelling.
Get a life or lif
How much for the first restaurant
the gannet is slightly ironic, as no gannet would bother eating in here!
Moskito for food
Make a food vlog at cava bar and restaurant at Glasgow and tag me.
