The sausage is called either square, lorne or slice, depending on which area you come from. Call it flat sausage in front of a Scot again though and you may get that Glesga (Glasgow) kiss!

The place itself look great looks clean and the staff seem to be very friendly, the waiter to the side of you having a laugh and joke with customers. Millions of Italians fled Italy to escape poverty, I think it was between 1880 and 1914 . Thousand landed in Scotland and settled in Glasgow and other city’s . With them they brought there customs, culture and food, and Scotland is better off for their presence. A case of immigration work perfectly. Haste ye back big man 👍

What a cracking looking breakfast Lee. That really was a first class Scottish breakfast with the Lorne sausage. Over the years I’ve been to Scotland I’ve always enjoyed the Scottish one over an English. From Inverness, Perth, Oban, Edinburgh, Fort William at hotels or self catering cottages I’ve always thoroughly enjoyed Scotland. Never heard of that Glaswegian kiss though but I know exactly what you mean Lee. Wouldn’t want to be in the receiving end however. You asked about the big Italian influence in Glasgow. Mass wartime immigration. They're a well loved, deeply ingrained part of the city. The much-maligned 'Scottish deep fried pizza' actually originates from the Italian immigrants, particularly from those from Naples who went on to run fish and chip shops. Pizza Napoli - deep fried.

The reason for so many Italian owned eateries is the amount of Italian prisoners of war held around Glasgow in camps, indeed across Scotland as a whole….they settled here instead of returning home usually because of the friendliness shown to them by local people…there was an old camp about 1/2 mile from my old flat, now a housing estate naturally😗(Patterton camp) & there are at least 2 Italian family-owned cafes here where I now live, Varani’s and Ferri’s, keeping the tradition going!😊

Lee, Coias Cafe is in Denniston which is just outside the City Centre - Glasgow is a good size, made up of the city centre then outlying districts, and Coias have been there for about a hundred years and are quality - like other Italian Familys who came to Scotland last century - Equi’s are another - in the outskirts of Glasgow - superb fish and Chips and the best Ice Cream, but Coia’s are fanatastic to have a meal in, and enjoy the place - lorne sausage, are split into two types - Most call them lorne, some are called - Steak Slice , just better quality meat, not the cheap frozen ones you can buy that are full of crap and low quality meat.

That looked very good, I am not a bean lover though on a breakfast, but it takes me back to 1976 when I had my first Glaswegian sausage!

Hi there, another brilliant video like always you enjoy watching your videos all the time just to say to you I mean this sincerely I wasn’t going to come back to RUclips me and my partner on my channel but watching your videos and seeing what you do has made us think again and we’re going to start making videos again, but I do enjoy watching your videos and watching travel all round the UK and across seas as well And I think you’re brilliant and what you do hope one day we can get somewhere near where you are where your subscribers are that would be a big achievement but it’s really impressive watching what you do to keep up the good work. Thank you

You said at the end thank you Glasgow, can I say you’re very welcome. I pass Coia’s Cafe all the time while I’m working and shamelessly I’ve never been in. It’s always a very busy looking place and I’ve never heard a bad thing about it in all the years I’ve driven a taxi in Glasgow..
