Your reaction is very much how we all felt as teenagers when it was first released. Mind totally blown. Seeing your facial expressions- particularly when Ride thrash it to bits at 6:57, made me smile because that’s exactly how I was when I first heard it. This single was a landmark moment and to have witnessed it crash into the top ten charts here in the U.K. on the back of very little radio play was momentous. It blew everything other single in the U.K. top ten out of the water (except ‘Reverance’ from Jesus and Mary Chain, obviously).
Excellent as ever nick!!. Now I do remember they both sang on that one. I was actually in a band at the time ride appeared but went on to work as a guitar tech in your great country and the state's so lost track of them a bit. I'd really urge you give swervedriver a try. As I said before they also came from Oxford and where also on Creation records at the same time. Rave down or son of mustang Ford would be great places to start. I do think you'd love them. Happy New year Fella.
Nicky Nick!!! You know I love me some Ride! One of my all time favorite bands. If you ever feel like reacting to another track, might I suggest a few gems that are their best in my humble opinion…;) 1. Like a Daydream. An early pre-debut album single that won me over in mere seconds. Youthful energy and style. 2. Today. A beautiful and melodic track from the same album as Vapour Trail. 3. Seagull. Opening track on debut album. Insane chaotic beauty. 4. Unfamiliar. Kicks like a mule underwater. Huh? Lol…an amazing and underrated track. Cheers, buddy 3.
As much as I love Nowhere, the period during which Ride recorded the Fall EP, the Today Forever EP, and then the Leave Them All Behind EP was just phenomenal. A lot of that got added to Nowhere over time, as it should be.
I remember seeing Ride live a lot back in the early 90s but for me they were kinda just another MBV knock-off. But i really like this track a lot. You might also like Slowdive, Chapterhouse, Pale Saints and Lush who along with Ride were the new wave of shoegaze.
One of the best albums of the 90s. Glad you’re getting into Ride
Chrome Waves and Time Machine are two incredible songs from this album.

Everything Ride produced between 89 and 92 LPs, EPs, etc, is fantastic
Ride have the most satisfyingly crisp drum sound.
Ride changed a lot over their albums, the fact that they stayed so good shows the level of talent in the band.
Great song, great album. Mouse trap is another great song from this album.
They had been listening to Baba O' Riley by The Who for the influence on this one!
Even a stopped clock tells the right time twice a day
Loz - one of the best drummers around, I always do air drumming to this!
Love it! Ride and Charlatans (Only One I Know is a Brit pop anthem you must do) are coming together to Detroit and I am shocked and delighted!
Yes...fabulous Ride...Shoegaze at its best.
Great band, great song
One of my fav tunes ever 👏

Happy New year Fella.
Drummer Keith Moon, from the Who, was a huge influence on the drummer from RIDE.
Shoegaze a beautiful smooth velvet glove wrapped around a fist smashing the sound into existence.

OX 4 .. beautiful & blissful .. OX 4 a postcode/zip code for Ride's hometown of Oxford
Leave them all behind. They did!
I'm trying!
Camden Carrot ... fire up ... Chill the Eff out ... aaah the early 90's pre - Brit Pop
Conan Mockasin "Forever dolphin love"
"Look at Twisterella, she hasn't got a fella"
This was released at the height of Grunge in the US. It was so the opposite. I loved it.
Much later but.
Thrasher or Come in out of the rain
By Engineers is a solid shout.
Have you reacted to 'Dreams Burn Down' ? Stunning piece of music
