    My Story:
In 2016 I had been in law enforcement for almost 7 years.
I was not in control of my schedule, I was hardly making any money, and I was away from my family working nights and holidays. I was capable of more,, and I was silently suffering. I knew I was selling myself and my family short.
I started Florida Turf Pros as a side hustle in 2016 before going full time in 2017.
My lawn business changed my life. I control my own schedule, my own income, and I am proud of what I have built.
On this channel you will learn the steps I have taken (and am still taking) to have a lawn care business that serves ME and my family’s needs.
We are a small owner operated company (2 full time mowing trucks/crews, and now a sod installation division).
If you are interested in starting a lawn care business this channel will provide the direction.
This really is a great industry to be in…
And I hope that by documenting my journey it will help you too.

Great advice. I will definitely say driving too much will definitely cut into the amount of money you can make. Being solo I’m usually in the 8-10 yards a day pricing and keeping those jobs close together is key. Hang in there guys it really works don’t give up.

Great video, I understand the math I'm not up to 200 but I know it's possible you're just getting the right yards and doing it right amount of time. Thanks

I did lawn care for 15 years as a side hustle. I went full time for one season then went into a divorce had to shut it down I miss it. And I’m planning on starting back up and coming off the road as a truck driver. I’m going to look into your class so I can fast track it.

The easiest way to get your routes tight is saying "No" to jobs that require more drive time. It took a few years to get to the point we are now but we have 200 mowing accounts. The crew averages about 2- 3 minutes driving in-between each yard unless they are right next to each other. Taking on jobs that are 10- 20-30+ minutes out of the way is an opportunity cost killer especially if you are paying employees to drive. Keeping your routes tight is key!!

Its funny, I watched your other video and you basically drew it out on a power point on how you attacked a yard weed eating the most proficient way. I watched you in this video and you did the exact same way lol...nice!

#FACTS I have about 65 in the downtown area local to me. And I can do them in roughly 4hrs 2guys. Money making day. There stacked up and can move the truck twice during them all. Just a random guy who is doing the same thing. And it works. We do it 4 days a week 2 guys and 50-60k a month. So it’s possible guys.

I added an extra charge per service for dog waste, most customers started picking it up, but I'm not at the point yet where I can drop or turn down anyone because its excessive yet. Hopefully sometime in the future.

Honestly I love getting those ugly lawns and rougher properties. There's less pickyness with the customers and they still pay the same

  • @yoddy0

The thing I struggle with is how the customer agrees to a weekly cut for $45 on that kind of yard. I don't know if I could cut that lawn knowing it probably didnt have to be cut for another week. Please someone knock some business acumen into me.

I’m in Dothan, AL and picked up a few yards on the side. I’m a CPA so I’ve watched a lot of your videos about efficiency. I always end up taking about the same amount of time to weedeat, edge, and blow as I do mowing. I.e if it takes 20 minutes to mow it takes that long to do the other. Any thoughts on this? Maybe another video? I can get a faster mower that would definitely decrease that time, but not sure how to decrease the other any more. I guess I’m just asking what is expected and what could I cut out that wouldn’t be cutting corners too much.

I deal with a certain amount of it… just comes with job. If it’s excessive I’ll ask client to pick up. If it doesn’t get better I drop the yard.
