Definitely do so! I'm starting my lawn care business this spring & I want to work solo as long as possible, but I'm praying to get so busy I need help. I'm blessed to have an amazing woman who wants to answer calls, handle billing, estimates, etc. But what's even better is she wants to get outside & actually Work most of all.
Good luck to both of you this year!

My wife has mentioned things like that in the past, especially wanting to help out when we're short-staffed. I always really appreciate it but I'm not comfortable going there. Not because she couldn't do a great job, some of my very best employees are women. I just don't want her to have to deal with the rigors of landscape work. I'd rather work harder myself and have her taking care of things on the home front. Call me old school! She does help out in the office though and that is much appreciated!

No one ever believes me when I say this but quitting my job and starting my business allowed me to be the husband and father I’ve always wanted to be. I’m at all the school events, all the meetings, all the appointments and even better I get to be there for my friends whenever they need help. That’s freedom I didn’t have working a 9-5. I really enjoyed this one man

Still one of your most powerful videos Jonathan.👊
Divorced, at 55 with a 5 your old precious son, 650.00 in child support, a family dividing mother-in-law and now an ex wife doing all she can to tear our son's life down with his dad,
I think the odds are stacked against my son and i exponentially.
That's why in a few years, I'm certain I'll be able to share a needed success story that many men aren't hearing.
Because of the thousands of videos I've seen since last year,
I've never seen a success story of a single father and his children he only sees a few days a month.
My son will be 6 in May.
    He is my priority motivation.
Thank you guys for all you do. Lord willing, a God-fearing wife is still to be.
You've no idea of the inspiration you give.

It has been extremely difficult to convince her to let me quit my full time job and pursue being a business owner. What a smart, level headed, and lovely lady you have been blessed with! I highly suggest more vids with Jammie, showing her behind the scenes work, her support, and even some end of the day debriefings and personal interaction. Spencer's is tops at this (and a lot of subs to prove it), with of course a little advantage with them working on the ground together nearly every day. Thanks for coming on the video Jammie! Man, this was awesome and thank you both for sharing. When we got started this time last year, your channel was very influential to me. We are about an hour west of you and I too graduated from UWF, although I only minored in finance (majored in management), ha! My wife is one of the main reason we took the leap into a very successful first season. My wife has been my supporter and rock from day one, and has always been there to hash out the details good and bad. In fact, my wife created our logo and creates most of our marketing materials. Communication is key in order to stay on the same page. I can agree that time spent will change and there will be many sacrifices as you grow your business, but as you said, it is still our job as husbands to inject that time and invest back into your family, your “ohana.” Family is everything and without their support it would certainly be tough to maintain success. We both did the same planning for our family as I too quit a full time 8-5p salaried leadership position with full benefits. My wife continues to provide our insurance. Thank you again, Jonathan. Would love to meet for lunch one day during the office season to bounce marketing ideas or discuss strategy for our respective markets. Keep up the great work! 🤙🏽

I am so grateful that a man like yourself has someone as wonderful as Jamie.
The gift of family is my greatest treasure.
Unfortunately my wife left me for her mother 4 years. Our son was one.
    He's now 5 and I'm 55.
I'll have to do this on my own but it's going to be okay - I will make it with God's help.
I have all the bills to pay plus $650 in child support.
Losing my wife was horrible but then losing my son to was devastating.
My goal for 2020 is to just establish a weekend business.
If my job will hold out a couple years, I'll trade it in for driving a school bus, henceforth - Insurance and a year-round paycheck.
I wouldn't even be considering this if it wasn't for the wisdom and discernment I get from you guys.
I am grateful for each and every one of you.
And if any of you are in Hattiesburg Mississippi next month,
    See you there 👍

I spend the day with Jason Creel, Alan Haynes & Keith Kalfas last Thursday.
Next month I'm going to spend a couple days with Wally from beech River, Richie Plemons, Shawn and Samantha Spencer.
      2020 is starting out right.
Haven't felt this good in 4 years.
Thanks for what you do Jonathan.

Hey brother real quick and this is for everyone please please please please make sure to teach your wife right next to you how to entirely run the buisness from start to finish even book keeping keep her involved incase something is to happen to you and how to hire new worker and everything and always have someone that is LOYAL to your buisness that will be willing to help your wife train the new guys in case anything was to ever happen to you. Me myself i have trained my wife and father everything about my buisness because iknow that at any moment we can be gone and i would never wanna leave my family hanging. So iam sure yall get the point just make sure to have everything set up for success alot of people start good but end tragically also i have a choice to sell my buisness to some other local companies so get familiar with your competitors and make friends man at the end of the day where all in the same boat together take care and best of luck to everyone.

if you got that "ride or die" person supporting you, then your not at it alone, and thats HUGE!. They can be rolling up their sleeves and getting their hands dirty in the business with you or just handling all other affairs at home or on that personal side of your family life, as long as they are there supporting you in that dream or goal(s) of lauching that business, you can't ask for more. And with that, your one HUGE step closer to being successful. As I can see inthe many comments and from the video, many of us have been very lucky or will be lucky to have that by our side. Thanks Jonathan/Jamie for the video.

My wife has a great corporate job and she is all in with our landscaping company. We both still currently work our full time jobs as well as putting in another 40 plus hours with our company from back office duties to in the field. Hoping quit my job and go full time in March. My wife says she will keep her salaried job until we are able to replace her income as well, then she will be able to leave. Thanks for the great content!

I started in 1994 full time landscape, and the wife as well, she add a different mind set, as your wife seem to have, hmmm , in 2000 my wife divorce me , at that time full time landscaping with 4 staff and many trucks all gone overnight, and here complaint and the why she divorce was I was always working, yes starting over since 2003 working for others landscaping company for a few years , since 2005 a new landscape company call Horticut.com a small solo work style that is way better now , your next make sur paperwork is done so you don't lose everything if she think different !

That's a Home owners association. Where there could be 30 plus homes. They pay a monthly fee to the association and in return they usually don't mow, remove snow etc. It's all hired out.
