HOW I CREATE $1,500 MOWING DAYS FOR OUR LAWN CREW

  • How I set up $1,500 mowing days for our lawn crew. The name of the game in residential mowing is route density. Everyone knows this, but what are the actionable steps you can take to actually move the need forward? Postcards, truck wraps, and social media are the best ways to build route density. Sure you can get clients from all over town through your website, but that's not where the magic happens. The magic happens when you start stacking houses on top of houses and completely dominate a street, then over time, completely dominate a neighborhood. In this video I'm showing you how I do it. If you want some more help, be sure to check out turf pros academy below.
www.turfprosacademy.com is a mirror image of the business model Jonathan used to build Florida Turf Pros. If you're looking to start your own lawn care business, or if you feel like your lawn care business should be more profitable than what it is, this is the course for you.
My 3 Favorite Lawn Care Tools:
For Pruning: Dewalt Hand Saw amzn.to/3hCWYPJ
Best Multi Tool: Leatherman Skeletool amzn.to/34n8YlV
    Best Boots: Merrell Foresbtound amzn.to/3sXaCoo
    My Story:
In 2016 I had been in law enforcement for almost 7 years.
I was not in control of my schedule, I was hardly making any money, and I was away from my family working nights and holidays. I was capable of more,, and I was silently suffering. I knew I was selling myself and my family short.
I started Florida Turf Pros as a side hustle in 2016 before going full time in 2017.
My lawn business changed my life. I control my own schedule, my own income, and I am proud of what I have built.
On this channel you will learn the steps I have taken (and am still taking) to have a lawn care business that serves ME and my family’s needs.
We are a small owner operated company (2 full time mowing trucks/crews, and now a sod installation division).
If you are interested in starting a lawn care business this channel will provide the direction.
This really is a great industry to be in…
And I hope that by documenting my journey it will help you too.

I've had my own mowing business for 21 years, started when I was 16. Your videos are motivating and also helping me realize I've left a lot of money on the table! I'll be implementing several changes over the next few months to increase profits, reduce wear and tear on my body, and enjoy going to work more than I already do now. Thank you for putting in the time and effort involved with these videos. You're helping us smaller guys out tremendously!

I'm just starting out this hustle.
I got income to cover my bills and enjoy, but this just adds money.
I am starting with electrical equipment EGO, starting with a push mower, working to save for ride mower, trailer, and truck. This is going to take some time unless I gamble by using savings or loans.

I’ve watched a lot of your content and learned a lot from you . I only cut commercial accounts now. I have 30 accounts . I started off with residential but in South Louisiana commercial is where the moneys at for me . I sprayed weed killer at 12 places the last two days and made $3,400 on top of cutting this week . I only have cards and a sign on the gate of my open trailer . But I’m always told how clean my truck and trailer with mowers are . But I’m planing on getting a 8.5x 24 enclosed this winter and letter it out so I’ll have a rolling billboard .

You could knock doors, but most folks are unaware that you can target a neighborhood in the ads you purchased from FB and Insta. I bet you might even be able to do that right here on RUclips. Imagine that every time someone in that neighborhood opens up their social media, they get bombarded with ads for your lawn service, over and over, every. single. day. Then they get a door hanger. Then someone knocks and, surprise! It's you, with a pitch for your lawn service. Yeah, it's nuts, but you could do that. Take it further by convincing current customers to let you place lawn signs in their front yards by giving them a one time discounted cut to remind all their neighbors of you and your business's ads. You can really smother the neighborhood with your marketing and promise a slightly lower rate than your competition or some specialized service. Once you own a neighborhood like that, your route is really tight.

Should You Do Door Hanger Advertising? - Jobber
Some customers consider the use of business door hangers as invasive and even illegal, but merely placing them on a customer's door without engaging in conversation is known as canvassing. Canvassing is generally legal because you're not directly selling a product or service (solicitation).Oct 21, 2022 Just an FYI for all of us....

Good question! My business model is a per service model. There's a reason I don't do flat rate billing, at least for now. I don't require lawn clients to go weekly unless their yards is terrible if left uncut for two weeks. Most people end up weekly who really want to take the best care of their yard, but I understand there are a lot of people who can't afford a weekly lawn service... so it's ok with me, as long as their yard is not atrocious.

There is no sales tax in Florida for services. However, if you are up charging a client for materials on a plant install and you are buying the products at wholesale. Then you would need to charge sales tax for that. But on regular maintenance work… no. You should speak with your accountant about the proper way to go about collecting sales tax if it is applicable to your specific situation.
