It's nice to see a bus conversion done the proper way . I just watched a video where this guy just put insulation and plywood over the windows . He is going to hate his life when one of those windows leak and he has to tear down half of the interior to fix the water damage .
Retired school administrator and bus driver here. You made an excellent choice with the flat fronted blue bird. Excellent visibility, better ride than traditional bus and the CUMMINS.!!
Mr. Dad your family is lucky to have you. Awesome job. My Dad passed away from cancer related complications on my 20th bday. But as a child watching him build things I thought he was a real super hero. Now at 34 I have even more of a respect & concept of how valuable this is for families 🥰
@@lifeanywhere sorry for you loss it sucks. You have a beautiful family. Can’t wait for more videos. I plan on purchasing a RV soon to carry out my Dad’s last wish if he had made it out of the hospital. Safe travels 🥰
When I was a little girl we lived in Harlan county in Kentucky and we lived in 2 busses we used one for a kitten and living room and the other for a bathroom and bedrooms we were very poor but we were happy it was me and my brother and my mom and dad we lived like that for years! It just shows you you can make it through anything if you just put in the effort it will pay off thank you for this video and the wonderful memories it has awakened God bless you all and keep you safe and meet your every need Peggy Lynn Smith from Corbin Kentucky

Thank you for this video. It was a genuine delight to watch. I respect and admire the build… especially the quality and the finishing touches using wood. Excellent. 5 out of 5 stars.
I don't have the words to accurately describe how impressed I am with your all of the skills you have accomplished to tackle all of those projects. I hope you all had a blast doing this together and it will be something you all will never forget. Good luck to you all.
This was truly magical to watch. The best I’ve seen yet. If every American showed such dedication and creativity there would not be time for unrest and political malarkey. You truly live with unconditional love without knowing any of you it just comes through. My kind of Americans I would be proud to have as friends and neighbors. ❤❤❤
It’s crazy how the last time I rode on a school bus, was 30 years ago. Some of my classmates & I went to & from our high school graduation Grad Nite in a night club. No my friend, the best part is that you and your lovely wife are still together after building that together lol. Seriously though, this wasn’t just a tossed together build, you took your time, did it right and beautifully and I hope your family enjoys this new home for many years to come 😊
A Thomas bus uses screws rather than rivets, so MUCH easier to take apart and an after-school "Activity" bus 9white in color) has highway gearing compared to an in-town school bus (yellow in color) hence better mileage
All I can say is you are an incredible person! My Dad built a home in the Berkshires in the late 60’s. We would stay in one room all weekend, while he was working in the rooms. Yes, putting up those ceilings looks familiar. We have a well. All the neighborhood kids helped us. My father lost both his parents at the age of 11. I am the proud daughter of an incredible man. And know I have met another one. Peace to you and your fantaboulous family! ❤️

I grew up on a ranch in South Dakota and have always been impressed with folks that can do for themselves. I am amazed at your skills sir, and glad we still have some MEN out there that can do this and your wife that is right there with you helping. That was how I was raised, working outside along with the men and then coming inside and doing house duties. Love hard workers, hope you love traveling and living in this amazing bus.
You have created something quite special and beautiful for your family. I hope you have amazing adventures while traveling in this beautiful RV you have lovingly created with your family. This is the type of project that my Dad would have loved doing especially since we went on month long camping trips as we explored the various mountain ranges, visited family and friends and had fun as a family. We used a tent trailer with a zip on extension and stackable camping cots for us kids to sleep on. Once the 3 eldest were no longer living at home Dad up graded to a popup trailer that slept 8 and had a built in stove, fridge, heater, sink and a water tank. Because we camped in bear country we didn’t cook or eat anything in the trailer which was fine since we had a pretty good setup for cooking outside and had multiple canopies to protect us from any bad weather. Dad even had heavy plastic sheeting that could be attached to the canopies creating walls that came in handy on a few rainy trips.
