The 1968 Barracuda "Super Stock" featured in the 2004 movie "Highwaymen" is not just a car; it's an emblem of relentless pursuit and vehicular vengeance. Driven by Jim Caviezel's character, Rennie Cray, the Barracuda becomes a formidable force in the pursuit of a ruthless serial killer who uses his car as a murder weapon. The sleek and muscular design of the '68 Barracuda provides a stark contrast to the sinister intentions behind the wheel, making it a symbol of both power and malevolence. As the vehicle hurtles down the highways in pursuit of justice, it takes on a character of its own, embodying the relentless determination to stop a madman. The 1968 Barracuda in "Highwaymen" becomes an integral part of the film's thrilling narrative, leaving a lasting impression on audiences as it roars through the screen in pursuit of justice.

Thank you! You probably found the tread on A-Body mopars only forum I wrote couple years ago. All your infos are correct. Apparently the Barracuda was sold by the owner in Ohio but don’t have any details on it.
Fun fact: Robert Racki was the main stunt driver for this car and broke is arm in one scene when he was laying on the hood of the caddy at the junkyard scene.

Being a Mopar guy what cracked me up was when they revealed it was a superstock Cuda, those things with that hemi handled like a dump truck with flat front tires and a rocket strapped to the back, those caddys the bad guy had would literally be able to drive circles around it.
A little bit of useless trivia, Chrysler was so serious about winning races in order to save weight they did away with the window mechanism and used a seat belt to hold it up and the glass was way thinner than stock which meant that when racing the torque from the hemi would twist the body and the side windows would bind in the frame and shatter. None of the original ss cudas or darts if it was raced have the original side windows.

Off topic now... in the remake of Dawn of The Dead there is a scene in a parking garage that highlights a 1969 Lemans blue Z/28 Camaro. It was bizarre and totally out of context with the movie. I almost bought one back in 81 for $1000, but my fiancée decided that we needed a 4 door, as she was hoping for a baby... we broke up 2 months later, by then, the car had sold for $800...
