I'm a St. Louis boy born and raised. Was to see Bigfoot in Roadhouse. Learned a couple things. Didn't know Bob didn't do the driving in the movie. And the show Room cars where new and not junkers.

All of your facts are spot on excellent research. The reason I know your 100% right is because the company I work for ProMedia (NMRA) hires BIGFOOT for our events. BIGFOOT is on display and sometimes for car crushing we have 6 events a year for NMRA and BIGFOOT is always there. One of there long time employees for the BIGFOOT company is Bob Brown very cool guy has told me about all of the history of BIGFOOT # 7. I like BIGFOOT #7 because of the movie Road House I loved that movie. Great scene when BIGFOOT drives, crushes and destroyed that dealership. The movie even had a Ford Motorsport banner (now Ford call's it Ford Performance). Plus when I was a kid my parents took me to see the original BIGFOOT many times. Most of the time at the NMRA events we have the original BIGFOOT and sometimes the newer tube chassis one little different look paint wise also yellow light blue somewhat. I will say it again your facts are right on the $$$$$$$$.

Thanks for responding. Another car would be the 58 Plymouth Fury from Christine. It probably has the most interesting history of any Hollywood car. I was shocked to learn that of the 25 Fury's used, 17 were completely destroyed 6 or 7 were used for parts cars, and only two survived. Shocking that they externally completely restored them only to crush them with bulldozers, light them on fire, or crush them between buildings. Truly a crime against cars since there are almost none in existence now. Still a great movie though.

I want to know what compound those ancient Firestone land train tires are made out of the last this long and still look that good

Apparently standard industrial grade rubber, just very thick. Not sure how they have survived that long either though regardless. It's very impressive though!

I’m surprised you haven’t done one of these for the movie FTW & it’s 1969 RoadRunner…

I haven't as that's not really my kind of movie and haven't seen it, but since you say it has a Roadrunner in it; I'll add it to my list to look into. Thanks

@@CarStarz42 thanks! It’s a pretty good movie. And probably has some names you’ll recognize(?).
      For me though,
That 69 RoadRunner is the star of the show (my dream car & currently in the middle of restoring one as we speak.).

Saw an interview with Bob Chandler and Jim Kramer recently on BIGFOOT's YT channel .Jim said he accidently left the rear sliding window open and was covered in broken glass during the stunt. He also commented that glass got into the engine compartment and shredded the blower belt, causing the engine to almost stall just as the truck exited the building. In one of the close ups, you can see the chains holding one of the crush cars in place. Jim Kramer also drove BF #8 for "Tango and Cash" and commented on how the 50 cal machine gun mounted next to him really shook the truck when fired. If I may make a suggestion, how bout a clip on the "Wheels of Terror" Dodge Charger . Here's my vote for a clip on the "Rolling Vengence" M/T. Thanks for posting.

Yikes, yeah I always wondered if all that glass raining down on the engine like that caused any damages. Thanks for that info. Also, where did you see that recent interview at out curiosity? Thanks.

@@CarStarz42 BIGFOOT has a YT channel, it has several clips of more recent and vintage BIGFOOT action. There's a 5 part series of interviews with Bob and Jim. Part 5 is when they talk about the "Road House" stunt. There's also a "behind the scenes" clip on the BF channel as well.
