I’m still working on it, I’ve been meaning to make an update video but keep forgetting. I haven’t gotten any further in terms of working on it, however I do have a plan and a list of what parts etc that I plan on rebuilding it with. I’m currently having trouble finding a machine shop that will machine it for me.
The most likely scenario for this happening was an LSPI Event ( Low Speed Pre Ignition ) . It’s a fairly common issue with the 2.0 ecoboost . Stratified has a good write up and explanation about LSPI on there website.
Definitely definitely keep us updated on the procedure for the built engine. Would be very interested in seeing what you went with on the machining.
That’s currently the process I’m trying to figure out now, will definitely be makin an update video once I get all my ducks in a row.
Awesome tear down excited to see where you go with it👌
Highly informative! Thank you for posting!
Any update on the rebuild?

Hey man does that timing chain have marks? Everywhere I see on the install there’s no marks on the new timing chain
The 2.0 don’t have any from what I recall.
Why does that happen in the piston?
