    Shame that Ford stopped producing the 1.6 in the Fiesta. Has me worried about blowing mine . Glad they still make these though

    What about closer to 450-500whp ? I was under the impression these blocks could hold a lot more power stock than the 2.3L

      You are correct, 500 is very attainable! It will shorten the lifespan if you are driving aggressively at 500, but she will hold for a good while.

    Do you guys do engine installs, or just sell parts?

      This is the full list. Go through what you have that is still working from your engine, and then fill in the gaps. Replace all the seals and gaskets and your are good to go!

    Hello, if purchased and stored for later, what is the correct way to store this? Should you buy one and keep it around for a year or so? Or wait ?

      Keep it dry and in a bag so it doesn't get filled with dust and debris, no worries!

    Only 50000 miles out of an ST engine that makes 350+ horsepower? Is it even worth it? My 2014 ST has the Ford Performance tune and exhaust, intercooler and RS intake. I just hit 192000 miles. Original clutch and turbo. No issues. I have had to change the purge valve 3 times though. When the car starts to have that erratic idle and very low speed surging issues that is the problem. Change that and it goes away. Starts up immediately everytime. Planning on upgrading to a stroked 2.0(2.3 ltr) once engine gives me issues. Will replace turbo at same time with another OE one. Don't beat up on it and change oil frequently and this engine will last awhile.🎉

      Yep you're exactly right. I have 70k and counting on mine stage 3 fbo last 25k. I won't have the original clutch long though bc it has ALOT of stop n go city miles on it plus i taught my wife how to drive stick on it 😂. I have to admit, the stock clutch is one helluva clutch. The stock turbo ain't too shabby either as long as you keep the oil changed. I don't push mine to the max too much, but I spool about 5 to 7 psi everyday.

      @@richardlapoint18455 to 7 is nothing and that's normal driving. My eco mode tune is set to 15lb and I barely touch 8 unless I'm passing someone.

    I blew my engine 2 days after I received the base tune from you guys. What should I do?

    • @EdgeAutosport
      @EdgeAutosport  9 месяцев назад +1

      If you believe there is something that was caused by our base tune, we can certainly discuss that with you. I would email tuning@edgeautosport.com and Alan will answer any questions or concerns you have. It's unlikely that a base tune would blow an engine by itself. Usually, that's a coincidence and it has happened before. But aside from us helping you understand the causes, the next step would be to get a new engine which we can also help with depending on the direction you'd like to take.

    From what I understand, very recently, since about when this video was posted...Ford announced they no longer produce these engines. Are the ones you sell off your site purchased from stock thats out there, and not from Ford? I just lost my engine due to a failed ringland..but im in the mid 400whp range so it was inevitable. Im going to have a stock short block fitted with Manley Rods/Pistons and then drop that in (with rebuilt, stock head). For the price, after budgeting a few thousand for a short block, you might as well figure out how to come up with a few more and just get a complete, forged motor 😅

    • @EdgeAutosport
      @EdgeAutosport  11 месяцев назад +1

      The Long Block is discontinued, the Short Block and all other parts associated with the Long Block are still available. Essentially, Ford is no longer assembling the Long Block for customers, but all the parts are still available. All Ford OEM parts we sell come directly from Ford. We just shipped out a fresh short block today, maybe it was yours...

    • @dham99
      @dham99 10 месяцев назад

      @@EdgeAutosportOh okay, that makes sense. No not yet, I'm likely having the block I'm removing rebuilt with said forged parts, or looking at a good deal on a built block from someone. But the difference between the two options is many thousands of dollars. i wouldnt put an oem set back in my car with the power levels I'm making, and I'm shooting for over 500whp 😅
