Hello Techne love your reviews I was just wondering Is this keyboard better then the K65 and the RazerHuntsman? Cause I really dunno which one to get I though Corsair cause it can match with my pc lighting what’s the best idea?
Love the review, but I really wish the bigger companies would get in touch with what people are willing to pay for features. Despite wanting to switch to wireless peripherals right now, this board isn't compelling enough to get my huntsman mini off my desk
Man, honestly, I really don't care for Razer's whole aesthetic. It's a little edgy for me. But, I feel like the Huntsman series has taken the old K70 Rapidfire's spot for top overall keyboard. I use the V2 TKL and it just feels so good. I had no intention of buying that particular one walking in to the store. I tried all of them and it was not even close. If I didn't use the function keys alot I'd have bought the mini in a heartbeat. I would just stick to yours until someone can make something at least as good as the Huntsman. Wireless keyboards have far less of an impact in game than a wireless mouse. Even then if you play under 50cm and have good reset habits, a wireless mouse is kind of pointless too. I personally still feel like wireless polling stability has a ways to go. Even Logitech has occasional hiccups.
@@FriendNotFoeBand I feel you on that. The only reason I want wireless is because I regularly have a logitech g920 wheel, a shifter, and a handbrake on my desk for sim racing but it still needs to be a compelling set of options and I am kind of brand loyal to razer because it's what I started with. If another company makes a winning product though I'd for sure buy it
If hyper x made an alloy origins v2 with their pbt keycaps and hotswap... oh my that would be amazing. I probably wouldn't even replace the switches since they're really good imo, but mainly to tune the stabilizers and do my own little mods along with knowing I could replace the switches if one ever broke
Corsair really needs to work on their product naming. Not everything can be a K70. It's a 60% and K60 would've made a lot more sense (K87 for TKL, K100 for full-size, etc). They're making good moves in the space and the names should reflect that. Great looking board!
its a nice board but honestly, i feel the brand tax is a bit too high on this one, the rk61 pro has dampening, bluetooth, rgb, hotswap, detachable usbc and even an all aluminum body and that's only $70
How is it for gaming though? I've seen some people on forums complaining about latency. Just dont want it to be as bad as my steel series apex 5(first keyboard mistake)
@@coyotex850 I dont use wireless for gaming..even Wired though is what I mean because i saw some threads about latency issues. My steel series one is Wired also and the latency is fkn horrible compared to my k100 and k65. That's what I want to avoid lol

Hahhahaha big stack of keyboards towards the end love it. I’m buying the Corsair. Love Corsair products and swappable keys now. You had me at “hot swap”
I hate that no one mentions how icue let's you customize FN Key functions and save it to onboard memory. That alone opens up TONS of options for keycaps vs than just the default.
And they chose the worst format possible to go with hotswap :) 60% is mainly used for gaming so you need quick switches - it's better choose one with the quick switches and stick to it without meddling with changing to different type switch. And if you have something like Wooting or SS Apex pro at a similar price point, then this Corsair is an unfunny joke :)
@@TheTechne thanks for the reply I was thinking of getting it is it worth the money and does the rgb connect okay when you turn on your pc? And 1 more question can you us it wired and wireless?
@@TheTechne you generally would if you want it to sound really good. I think for example the Anne pro 2 sounds really good for a gaming keyboard largely due to its flex
I have been using this keyboard early access for about a week now, and its amazing. Only problem is with the ICUE bugs it has and doesn't memory save the rgb effects I have put on it and have to fix it everytime I am opening up my PC
When I think of the K70, I think of the epic media functions and keys on that keyboard. That it's missing on this keyboard kinda ruins the whole K70 branding for me. And the ROG Falchion showed us an innovative way to have media functions w/o sacrificing size (via touch bar).
@Techne -- have you taken a look at the Tecware Phantom 87 Key Mechanical Keyboard (comes in Outemu Blue, Brown, and Red)? It's only $45...and honestly is a beast for that price. It has so many solid features. Similar look but TKL ofc. Would love your thoughts! Also, unlike mice -- I'm not sure being wireless is as much needed imo. Yes, a cleaner look for sure..but the keyboard wire doesn't really 'get in the way' of anything.
I have been using a floating keycap design kb for almost a year now. It bothers me that my kb easily catches dirt and sometimes small bits or dust even goes into the switches. Not sure though if this is a factor in chattering as I found my kbdlite67 r3 is as much prone to chattering as my GMMK TKL even on just day 3. but the dust/dirt getting into the switches, etc really is bothersome. and when you combine switches on your board as I do (tactile on alphas and linear on arrows, etc with combination of holy pandas, akko and ktt switches) it really does not look good as I can see all the different colors peaking underneath the keycaps. but this board does look nice and sound nice out of the box. so okay I guess. just not a fan of the floating keycaps though I understand if you are using the RGB. I don't, never had.
I'm currently looking for a small form factor keyboard I've narrowed it down to 2 keyboards. This one (Corsair K70 mini) or the Razer Blackwidow V3 Mini. I have used Corsair products in the past and I've liked them a lot. But I am very interested in Razer's Hypershift feature. if anyone has any recommendations I would appreciate it.
In my opinion it’s better to buy 1 keyboard and stick with it, because it’s a lot of money that we spend on these things, mouse, keyboards etc, so it’s better to buy the best setup first so you don’t pay after, I bought the viper v2 pro and the apex pro tkl
that is up to you and what you like on the keyboard size. pass tkl you do not lose any keys, but they might be a different location on the keyboard so might need to press two or more keys to get there.
Asus ROG Falchion is a competitor. I'm a big fan. I may check this one out eventually because I am not a fan of the ROG software and I already use Icue...
180$? Why are they charging so much for smaller 60% keyboards. Its already missing a bunch of keys. I’ve have a apex pro tkl for over a year and i shall not change for a while
So I only own the Xbox Series X and the Xbox One X do I need a keyboard? Hell no... But if I did need a keyboard that looks and sounds like a Sticking Cozy keyboard... Keep up the great work fella..
I think its still bad because it just can't compete against the apex pro mini and the Wooting 60 he. The power of analog is unstoppable right now. How can I crank my 90s at Fortnite if I don't have my 0.1 millimeter actuation point keyboard?
LETS GO!! Buy… oh it’s a mini.. I was misled by the intro.. Nevermind. Lol. When it comes to keyboards I haven’t found a good reason to change from my apex pro tkl yet. Wireless is the only thing I’d be interested in. I’ve looked at custom mechanical, but I’m too afraid for my wallet to start down that rabbit hole.
Don't worry sure it won't be that bad..... I think I mean I been in the custom keyboard community for 2 years but haven't built a board yet so I can't really say but you will be good.....I think.... or just get the apex pro mini wireless its expensive but hey something
@@AspexFPS lol the apex pro mini is expensive, but you can spend that much on a keycap set and a custom coiled cable too soo.. at least I haven’t bought those yet right?
Massive improvement over the last 60% offering. Hot swap definitely puts it far ahead of other big brand gaming boards in my book. Nothing beats that flexibility to put whatever switch you want, but that 3-pin design is pretty stupid. Why would they limit themselves like that in this day and age? Even $30 boards have 5-pin compatibility. Edit: Oof. Just saw the $180 price tag. That combined with 3 pin hotswap, this is a hard pass. You really shouldn't have to be permanently clipping switches to fit them in a PCB anymore, especially if you're paying over $1 per switch for some of them.
The K70 RGB Pro comes in a TKL version as well. There are two versions: one with mechanical switches, which is neither hotswap, nor wireless. The other version comes with Corsair's optical switches (Corsair OPX), which are hotswap, but again not wireless.
