I'm using one of the newer controllers and it's just not pairing I have everything turned on but I still don't know why it won't pair

First activate the wired pro controller setting. Then go and turn on the controller and pair it.

Can anyone help me!? I tried to connect the USB to my switch, so I can connect my elite xbox controller 2. Its not working, I already updated the firmware, updated the switch, updated my elite controller. "Still nothing!" I have had issues with this in the past with connectivity issues, it would take a while before connecting. But this time its not working at all, does anyone know of a new firmware doing this?
using an xbox series S controller and can’t get it to work at all... updated firmware as well. it says device paired with my nintendo switch but the xbox button constantly blinks and the controller just does not respond to any inputs.

Ok I been trying to connect my controller for 30 minutes after updating and it's still not connecting what gives.
For anyone else seeing this, you gotta update the firmware. check out their website for information.

I don't think the switch controller has any bluetooth support. You'll probably need a separate one that plugs to the switch headphone jack.
@@GameRumble I know the switch controller doesn't that's why I bought the adapter in video.. Xbox controller works fine but just doesn't seem to send mic signal through to switch
@@sharp1979as you can't use mics on switch, you have to use the NSO app and use your headset through your phone
I think there are two versions of the 8bitdo. The orange brown one being Gen 1, and gray black being Gen 2. Gen 1 no longer works with switch.
How'd you find out Gen 1 doesn't work with switch

@@hbk92286I understand this comment is old but maybe you’ll see it and still need help not sure. I believe the 1st gen doesn’t work because Bluetooth changed in the newer controllers and I think it requires you to have gen 2 for the adapter

Yep, spent hours trying to connect Xbox One controller. Doesn’t work. Piece of crap! Updated firmware, updated every damn thing I could think of, software, firmware. There’s nothing that will make this junk work.

go back to firmware 1.33 so it will work with box one controllers, dont update to latest firmware

I don't think you can. There's a PS1 classic adapter (also not sure if switch works there) but not sure for the PS4.

I have new xbox controller with bluetooth (electric volt) and 8bitdo adapter with upgraded soft, version 2.01. I plug adapter to the dock and I can't even pair them, everything is just blinking. I'm trying sync buttons, I've checked pro controller wired connection in console settings. Any ideas?

SOLUTION: there's no solution. New bxbox controllers don't connect with this dongle because of new bluetooth version. End of story, don't buy this shit.
The Xbox pad and 8BitDo pair but won't appear on the Switch change controller screen.
It's an Xbox1 1708 model, it can connect to the laptop over Bluetooth and I've updated to the latest firmware.
The 8BitDo has been updated to the latest firmware. Pro Controller Wired Communication is on.
They pair, lights turn solid, pad vibrates. The pad also vibrates when the power on the switch comes on. But the Switch will not register it.
I've gone through the setup multiple times and restarted the Switch.
It will not appear as another controller. I feel like the 8BitDo is paired and taking power but the Switch is not registering it.
Any ideas?
Not sure what's wrong in your case. In my case, the pad usually pairs and vibrates the first time... Then it disconnects and then pairs again and only then it works.

It has to be this one. Although, I see people saying it doesn't work for them with newer updates, which I haven't had the time to try. Maybe someone here can confirm.

Nvm I figured it out I couldn’t connect the regular Xbox one controller nor the series 1 elite controller only my series 2 would connect I’m pretty sure the Xbox a controller would work as well

Video Game Worm I did. I also connected the controller directly to the switch and presses both the sync button on the switch and the controller. Still didn’t work :/

No, it won´t because it only mimics a wired controller. The receiver needs to be connected to the dock.
@@GameRumble mine came with an attachable usb pot kind of thing for the switch so it does work in handheld mode
