Jeff Lynn, the vocalist and leader of ELO later became a music producer. By the late 80s he was working with many artists including Tom Petty, and George Harrison (Beatle). They were in close proximity one week when George was in town to record a track or two, and George, Tom, Jeff, called their other friends nearby for instruments and a home studio, so they all went to Bob Dylan's LA house and hung out with him and ROY ORBISON. A supergroup was formed for a couple albums with the name TRAVELING WILBURYS. (Handle with care, End of the line) at the turn of the late 80s. Jeff Lynn - plus Roy Orbison, Tom Petty, Dylan, Harrison - The Traveling Wilbury's. Not to be missed. Hope you react to them! AND the supergroup "The Highwaymen" - Johnny Cash, Willie Nelson, Waylon Jennings and the legendary songwriter Kris Kristofferson.
This song was taken from the "Out Of The Blue" album which was released in 1977 and by 2007 had sold more than 10 million copies.Written and produced by ELO frontman Jeff Lynne. Jeff Lynne wrote the entire album in three and a half weeks after a sudden burst of creativity while hidden away in his rented chalet in the Swiss Alps. It took a further two months to record in Munich. Side three of the original double LP consisted of the symphonic Concerto for a rainy day. In a BBC Radio interview, Lynne talked about writing "Mr. Blue Sky" after locking himself away in a Swiss chalet and attempting to write ELO's follow-up to :A New World Record. It was dark and misty for 2 weeks, and I didn't come up with a thing. Suddenly the sun shone and it was, 'Wow, look at those beautiful Alps.' I wrote Mr. Blue Sky and 13 other songs in the next 2 weeks.
ELO has a fun sound... Yes, a lot of Beatles influence... Jeff Lyn was one of the Willburys later, with Roy Orbison, George Harrison, Tom Petty and Bob Dylan... :)

They are maybe even better today in some ways than in their prime. Jeff has put together a fantastic group of musicians and has decades of experience. The Wembley show was great, wish I could have been there. In the audience I saw mostly oldsters, but also younger folks and children. Looked like 3 or 4 generations of family sometimes. All smiling, dancing, singing along and having a great time. That's ELO, happiness in musical form.
Jeff Lynne: Lead Singer Guitar 🎸 Lyricist Composer Producer.... (Musical Genius) And at the end it doesn't say "Mr. Blue Sky" it says "Please Turn Me Over".
Jeff Lynne was & still is the lead singer/guitarist/songwriter. Just a genious. You should see them live, sensational!! One of the best ever in the 2000's. Just excellent. Better than the one you saw today. 🥰🥰
They play this at every home game at my football team before the team comes out on the pitch. This was played at Wembley when my team won a cup ( my football team is over one hundred years old and hardly had any succes) so us blue noses sang this with all our hearts that day- especially ' and today is the day we waited for.' Americans bought the club a few months ago and someone you may have heard of- the American footballer Thomas Brady holds shares in the club now too.
ELO can do so many genres of music. Definitely a happy Beatles vibe. Jeff Lynne (the main writer and lead singer) would actually join George Harrison of the Beatles (plus. Tom Petty, Bob Dylan and Roy Orbison) to form The Traveling Wilburys in the 80's. Listen to Handle with Care.
This song opens The Guardians of the Galaxy, Volume 2, so if you decide to start watching the Marvel movies, it's only 15 movies before you get to hear it again. Sorta', kinda' kidding, but if you do start the MCU (Marvel Cinematic Universe), whether it's on the channel or in private life, here's the law: 1: Stan Lee makes a cameo in every movie. ALL HAIL STAN LEE. 2: Release order only, because every one has one or two mid / credit, after / credit scenes. 3: Every one has one or two mid / credit, after / credit scenes. 4: Although some would disagree, there are some who throw shade at "The Incredible Hulk" & "Thor: Dark World" for not being "as good" as the others, etc. Ignore them. These each stand on their own as excellent movies. "DO NOT FEED THE TROLLS".
We need to hear some of their modern concerts from across the pond. They are a much bigger deal and lots more instruments and the light shows are outta this world as are the sounds !!! They were still growing in this one 😁
McCartney recalled the ease of working with Lynne - and how it reminded him of recording with John Lennon and George Harrison: "Now, it was me and Jeff doing it all. He'd play guitar with me and I played bass and drums.3 Aug 2020
At this point in music history, it’s always surprising to find grown adults who have not heard Mr. Blue Sky. And yes, the Vocoder company sent ELO leader Jeff Lynne a prototype in 1978. ELO was a pioneer in using the Vocoder on pop music.

In the audience I saw mostly oldsters, but also younger folks and children. Looked like 3 or 4 generations of family sometimes. All smiling, dancing, singing along and having a great time. That's ELO, happiness in musical form.
Jeff Lynne:
Lead Singer
Guitar 🎸
Lyricist
Composer
Producer....
(Musical Genius)
And at the end it doesn't say "Mr. Blue Sky" it says "Please Turn Me Over".
Jeff Lynne was & still is the lead singer/guitarist/songwriter. Just a genious. You should see them live, sensational!! One of the best ever in the 2000's. Just excellent. Better than the one you saw today. 🥰🥰
What a happy song, I needed that! Thanks ❤

VERY REFLECTIVE OF THE BRITISH VIEW OF, OUR OWN WEATHER.
Can’t believe this is new to you.
I thought the whole world knew this great feel good tune.
Other fabulous ELO songs Telephone line, Turn to Stone, Living Thing, Rockaria, Horace Wimp, Confusion, Midnight Blue - and many more!
They haven’t been around that long……telegraph. Haha.
@@jeffmattson5766 excellent typo. Fixed.
This can also be heard in I think the second Guardians of the Galaxy movie
If you do ELO again, be sure to check out their fairly recent “Live at Wembley” concert. Start with “Telephone Line”. Simply amazing!
I believe it is scientifically impossible to be in a bad mood while listening to this song
If you want to hear an ELO banger, listen to "Don't Bring Me Down". Jeff Lynne was/is a creative genius.
🇨🇦 Just as popular were their songs "Living thing" and "Strange Magic" !
Loved ELO back in my youth and still today! Strange Magic is my fav!
This song opens The Guardians of the Galaxy, Volume 2, so if you decide to start watching the Marvel movies, it's only 15 movies before you get to hear it again.
Sorta', kinda' kidding, but if you do start the MCU (Marvel Cinematic Universe), whether it's on the channel or in private life, here's the law:
1: Stan Lee makes a cameo in every movie.
I read an article where a scientist in the Netherlands developed an algorithm to find the happiest song on earth. This was the winning song.
We need to hear some of their modern concerts from across the pond. They are a much bigger deal and lots more instruments and the light shows are outta this world as are the sounds !!! They were still growing in this one 😁
The words at the end say...Please turn me over...Because it was the last song on side 3 of the double album.
Super Band So Many Songs...Sir Paul McCartney Called Jeffe Lynne Best Songwriter Ever
McCartney recalled the ease of working with Lynne - and how it reminded him of recording with John Lennon and George Harrison: "Now, it was me and Jeff doing it all. He'd play guitar with me and I played bass and drums.3 Aug 2020
An upbeat and fun song. Recommend next Evil Woman and Don't Bring Me Down.
John Lennon called ELO "Beatles Junior."
At this point in music history, it’s always surprising to find grown adults who have not heard Mr. Blue Sky.
And yes, the Vocoder company sent ELO leader Jeff Lynne a prototype in 1978. ELO was a pioneer in using the Vocoder on pop music.
Jeff Lynne and Roger Taylor from Duran Duran both lived in Shard End in Birmingham, but only Jeff Lynne mentions it in one of his songs
Cant get it out of my head,is great ELO song and like alot of their songs you cant get it out of your head,so catchy
A great wake-up song.
One of my top 3 favorite songs and one of my ringtones.
Huge hit. In movies and more. Great tune. One of the Beatles said ELO is what they would have been if they hadn't broken up.
John Lennon said once; if the beatles would still exist, the music would probaly sound like ELO, he was a big fan.
this was the short version😝
