Being grateful is such a good thing to become aware of. You're a comedian. You know how lucky you are? Your friends are comedians! You realize how amazing that is? What you're talking about, coincidence, is called synchronicity. A very fascinating phenomenon Carl Jung wrote about it. I had an amazing experience of synchronicity, which felt like a gift from the universe. And I'm an atheist. Now I leave everything to the universe.
Tom Papa is a brilliant comic, love his podcast, and I will definitely get his new book. And has anyone else noticed his smile is remiscent of Jack Nicholson's Joker?
"I don't always wanna be perceived " the purest description of me my whole life. I would always say I wish I were invisible. I just want to exist without being perceived 🫶
It was impressive, how Papa was able to condense his thoughts over the 75 min. interview into a few sentences at the very end. I'm officially cured, for now.
“The colon knows”😂😂😂Once again Neal gives me a new comedian to dig into, whose material I would have otherwise never checked out. 7 minutes into this interview I became a fan of Tom Papa. This show enriches comedian’s material by dissecting the source.
Love Neals interviews, my only critique is that he listens more. His guest be ready to spill some serious beans & he cuts them off. U can tell the guests really trust him & be wanting to let go, but Neal be like ✋🏻 lol
I loved what Papa said about people need to see they aren't the only ones standing in the CVS with problems. As a hair stylist over 20 years, I'm here to say everybody has the same damn problems but thanks it's only happening to them. We are all experiencing the same human experience. Just different things at different times.
I worked at Goodnight Comedy Club in Raleigh around 2011. Tom Papa made a joke about putting his nuts on the counter top at the end of the day "like 2 chicken nuggets." And it came in a previously entirely clean act. It has always stuck with me
Neil, I think you should absolutely have the guy who wrote The Love language's book on your show. He's still out there doing his thing in his 70s except his wife has passed away and now he's talking about sexuality and relationships and love and growing older and he's pretty freaking awesome
I love The Paps! What a great podcast Also, I love when people with ADHD describe all the symptoms of ADHD in a podcast, alongside an example of a genetic link of it in an immediate family member. And they still go... hmm... I wonder why I do (xyz) 😂 and then Neal's like...uh...spectrum? Ahh the ironic plight of the oblivious Neurodivergent. ♡ Its a badge of honor. Sincerely, Samesies
“I guess it’s now”. I’ve never connected more. Damn. I’m disabled and have been near death numerous times. It’s never “not here, not like this!” It’s always “I guess it’s here, I guess it’s like this.”
Video Time: 52:29 - 'Cocaine & Calzones' / That should be the title of the next Tom Papa Netflix Special or Book! I'd pay GOOD money to see that and or read that book! 🤣😂
"AAAHHH! The engine is on fire!" Papa, ice cold, says, "Yes sweetheart, of course it is. That's supposed to happen. Close the shade & read your book. But just in case, you know how I feel about you." 🤣
I would love to cook for you two. Tom I would love to make you full despite yourself, and Neal I'd love to see completely lose control and eat all of something that you planned not to- but that still fits your macros. Thank you for the lesson early in the podcast about hard work beating everything else.
God dammit I wanted to go to sleep to this but I LOVE Tom Papa. He introduced me to the gritty Tits McGee Ojai babe. Good God I've listening to this podcast at LEAST 2x a week.
So this is just a short FYI about the extra tall toilet seat. I had knee surgery in 2012 at age 49 and for about 7 weeks afterwards I had to use one because I couldn't bend my knee into normal positions. So not that gross and nothing traumatizing beyond the initial injury.
Neal, with all due respect; you are reaching for Maron's record of not only interrupting a guess EVERY TIME he starts to speak but never waiting longer than 5 seconds to do so. I thought only drunk people do that. sorry/thanks
1:02:42 my circle of friends calls this “Plate o’ Shrimp” in reference to Miller from Repo Man. It’s all part of a cosmic unconsciousness. Ex: this podcast had the third Doo-Woo reference I heard today.
Neal’s spot-on re: Tom’s body looks like it actually should be chubby, like his frame was built to support it 😅 Always felt secondhand body dysmorphia whnvr seeing him on podcasts-as if my mind’s 👁️ just envisions Tom as a jolly fat guy
dang. fat going to stomach and love handles but everyone perceives me as "skinny" because i'm meticulous and regimented, body dysmorphia, sugar day gluttony = i feel seen
Tom Papa just makes me happy when I see him. Very rare energy
Love Papa. His voice is as soothing as the crust of a lovely, freshly baked loaf of sourdough.
Your a loaf. :)
"Krishnadirty" 🤣 Well done.
I wonder if he ever bakes bread other than sour dough. 🤔
🎶 It’s time for breaking bread with Papa…🎶
Big fan of Tom. He's has the most underrated show breaking bread with Tom papa.its a amazing show that never got the credit it deserves.
"I don't always want to be perceived." Such a perfect description of how I feel a lot of the time lol
I feel like Neal is doing something really important that we need right now with these vids. This is dope.
Agreed 👍
Thanks to Tom for speaking about dealing with death. Losing friends when you’re young is life changing
🫂🤍
Too true to be good.
the last few seconds say it all about this guy, he really seems to be a good spirit with a positive nature, and we all need THAT !
Can't get enough of Tom Papa!
Just catching up on old episodes- what a perfect description/perspective of ‘introvert’ vs ‘extrovert’.

that whitman quote is one of my guides so good this episode, its actually better than good.. its great
"I don't always want to be perceived"
Holy shit that hit hard
hardest pill to swallow.. there is always an audience. grumble
I love it when podcast have on Tom Papa. Throw your hands in the air. If youse a true playa.
Tom is one of those people where his smile just makes you feel comfortable and that you can trust him. Shoutout to em 🍞
Tom Papa is a brilliant comic, love his podcast, and I will definitely get his new book. And has anyone else noticed his smile is remiscent of Jack Nicholson's Joker?

Two of my favorite podcast hosts coming together! I’ve never clicked so fast in my life!!
Bird by bird is a great book for writers and creatives of all kinds. Love you Tom ❤
I love this raw conversation. Appreciate you both in my window!
The double “that’s deja vu right?” Legit tripped me out 😂😂
Great show and episode. LOVE Tom Papa
Love Blocks so much listen to some eps repeatedly. This is my 3rd time for this one. Just enjoyable and informative
Two good solid dudes having a chat. Love it. ❤❤❤
Beautiful. Beautiful ending.
Thanks Neal, have been following since ep 1 and I really think you are great in this format
My favorite podcast. Killing it Neal.
Loved the synopsis of Papa's book: you can learn something from everyone you meet, from the smartest to the dumbest
This is a great podcast. Loved every episode so far.
Icon. Love Papa & Gaffigan. So much. Brilliantly funny gents.
Papa, I have those dreams too.. noone believes me. Do you remember the dream before it happens? Great show today.
🤣🤣💖🤣🤣Love Papa even more after this. Perfect ending!
Nailed it Neal.
Tom Papa is so likable
“The colon knows”😂😂😂Once again Neal gives me a new comedian to dig into, whose material I would have otherwise never checked out. 7 minutes into this interview I became a fan of Tom Papa. This show enriches comedian’s material by dissecting the source.

This is very funny.
Yes!!! I'm hearing more from Neal than Tom. I'm getting a little frustrated.
The deja vu edit was great.
Thoroughly enjoyed this episode! Thank you
Great episode & loved the advertisement glasses, Neal 😂
One of the best podcasts!
Really great podcast guys, enjoyed it so much ❤😂

Great interview, and two funny guys.
Pumped for this episode as always
Tom and Neal just describing disassociation as staring at something random is hilarious
*dissociation
I didn't laugh too much with my mouth on this one..
But i laughed plenty with my heart 👍☺️👍
I worked at Goodnight Comedy Club in Raleigh around 2011. Tom Papa made a joke about putting his nuts on the counter top at the end of the day "like 2 chicken nuggets." And it came in a previously entirely clean act. It has always stuck with me
Joan had a jewelry/fashion line that sold on QVC and in-stores, she made a bundle with that.
19:03 I just think of Neal as the kid from Charlie and The Chocolate Factory.
Love Tom Papa and of course you Neal 💗
The premise of this podcast is so dope. Definitely makes me feel less fucked up lol
FR FR.
Whoa! That's the friggin' bread guy!
These two are hilarious together!
Neil, I think you should absolutely have the guy who wrote The Love language's book on your show. He's still out there doing his thing in his 70s except his wife has passed away and now he's talking about sexuality and relationships and love and growing older and he's pretty freaking awesome

“I guess it’s now”. I’ve never connected more. Damn. I’m disabled and have been near death numerous times. It’s never “not here, not like this!”
It’s always “I guess it’s here, I guess it’s like this.”
Staring at stuff = Zoning out. It has come and gone throughout my life.
brilliant Papa super awesome
I catch myself staring at things all the time
Good. Would have liked to have heard Tom more.
YYYYEEEEAAAAHHHHH ❤️❤️🥰✨❤️ I adore you both!
Such a good podcast
Video Time: 52:29 - 'Cocaine & Calzones' / That should be the title of the next Tom Papa Netflix Special or Book! I'd pay GOOD money to see that and or read that book! 🤣😂
"AAAHHH! The engine is on fire!" Papa, ice cold, says, "Yes sweetheart, of course it is. That's supposed to happen. Close the shade & read your book. But just in case, you know how I feel about you." 🤣
I'm listening to this as I do chores, and it's difficult to distinguish their voices sometimes.
Awesome!
Yey! I like this episode. 😊
The staring thing for me is when I'm disregulated, Childhood PTSD. Im 59 years old and it Just started happening 2 years ago!
Love papA.
And "the hardest part about leaving home is not whistling when I pack"
It’s Papa!!! ❤
The staring is called disassociation. It's a coping mechanism.
*dissociation
Did you catch Jerry's episode on this?
I would love to cook for you two. Tom I would love to make you full despite yourself, and Neal I'd love to see completely lose control and eat all of something that you planned not to- but that still fits your macros. Thank you for the lesson early in the podcast about hard work beating everything else.
1:02:16 PERFECT😆
Did you really sneak in a double-cut of “that’s deja by right”?? 😂 best writing and editing nominee lmao
Is that a sculpture of a head behind ya’ll? That’s beautiful 🌸🌸🌸
God dammit I wanted to go to sleep to this but I LOVE Tom Papa. He introduced me to the gritty Tits McGee Ojai babe. Good God I've listening to this podcast at LEAST 2x a week.
Dreaming something and then having it happen is called deja reve as opposed to deja Vu.
Neal knows exactly why Sarah knows that the Brennan’s don’t snack
Neal, you do your pod every Monday?
P for Papa, it's a Papa party! Yay!
Hearing someone mention, Gaetanos cheesesteaks is incredible.
So this is just a short FYI about the extra tall toilet seat. I had knee surgery in 2012 at age 49 and for about 7 weeks afterwards I had to use one because I couldn't bend my knee into normal positions. So not that gross and nothing traumatizing beyond the initial injury.
Joan made a ton off of her QVC jewelry line.
Anyone else vibin’ to the theme music?
I love it when they call me big papa
Tom is the "Bennet Cerf" of his generation.
For the alg. Yay Tom
Dope
Neal, with all due respect; you are reaching for Maron's record of not only interrupting a guess EVERY TIME he starts to speak but never waiting longer than 5 seconds to do so. I thought only drunk people do that. sorry/thanks
Neal, this is future you. The final biopic question sucks. Drop it and move on. The podcast is great.
Agreed. It’s easily the weakest part of the show.
Hey Neal, most people are ambiverts and aren't pure intro- or extroverts.
1:02:42 my circle of friends calls this “Plate o’ Shrimp” in reference to Miller from Repo Man. It’s all part of a cosmic unconsciousness.
Ex: this podcast had the third Doo-Woo reference I heard today.
John Hodgman would have also fit that description
😂 a good one.
Neal’s spot-on re: Tom’s body looks like it actually should be chubby, like his frame was built to support it 😅
Always felt secondhand body dysmorphia whnvr seeing him on podcasts-as if my mind’s 👁️ just envisions Tom as a jolly fat guy
My dude Neal, I miss Breanna. Can you please bring her back⁉️
How does your body know you're near your home toilet? Because YOU literally know!
Future echoes can be useful
Papa is a closeted man to the millionth degree.
A Blocks with Binx and dem?
dang. fat going to stomach and love handles but everyone perceives me as "skinny" because i'm meticulous and regimented, body dysmorphia, sugar day gluttony = i feel seen
Love Tom but he’s definitely the kind of guy who whispers “shhhh” in your ear while he chokes you to death.
😂😂😂
