I don't know, David Fincher has quite a history of turning books into film. He's a good director, and although I've heard he's changed some things, I think he'll still keep the over all theme intact. I for one was very excited that Daniel Craig was cast as Mikael, rewatching the first film I could really see him in the part. Don't get me wrong, I loved the original as much as all of you, I'm just not writing off this new one just yet.
Although I am a fan of David Fincher, I think Roman Polanski would have been a better choice. . . I think he is one of the best adaptation directors, ever. Definitely the best working today. . .
@kayele I usually dont approve of remakes I mean American just HAVE to have everything its wrong and all but still I hope this will be good cause as I said the movies till now are good but by far they DONT DO the BOOKS JUSTICE :S so many things are cut and rushed I mean 100 pages in 10 MINUTES?! Im not saying this time Americas gonna be good Im just saying Im hoping for the best but it would be harsh if the American would go better than the swedish :S We'll just have to wait and see
I didn't liked the films: They are very close to the books in their form and content, but they had no soul. I didn't found half of the excitement I had when I read the books in them.
ok First off the books are much better lots of things were switch left out more in the second movie all Im saying that the movie was long 2 and a half hours but the first 100 pages covered in 10 minutes now that in my eyes says it all if an american remake just had to be made I hope it those the books more justice then this
@mott308 I don't support Polanski (although he's a great director from my country) but I think after all these years he redempted his guilt. And his victim forgave him.
both are amazing!
I've read the book and I saw the movie too and I can say that they dont change many things, it still marvelous

That sucks, and it's gonna suck. You know Hollywood, instead of a laptop they're gonna give her a gun.

where did they find this pleb to describe it? It's like she's pitching it to pre-schoolers, but then she is representing ITN
The movie missed out on keypoints and deleted most of the points of the novel. They changed so much, but even so the movie wasn't bad.

Has anyone else noticed how misleading the trailers have been for the movie adaptations of these books?
@aRoseByAnyOtherName He’s also a known rapist, so I don’t think a lot of people would condone him directing a very anti-rape film....
@weya Cool story bro but he didn't raped her. Anyway I think Larsson would be mad if Polański wanted to make this film.
