  • Noomi Rapace fell in love with the character of Lisbeth from the Millennium Series novels, so when she was offered the chance to play her in the film adaptation, Noomi made sure that she remained loyal in her portrayal, to the point that she held the script hostage.

I think the most telling part of how Lisbeth's character is revealed in the film is the scene where Blomkvist says "I want you to help me catch a killer of women". The change in her body language is so subtle it would be easy to miss but it shows so many things. She is immediately converted to Blomkvist's cause but at the same time it shows that he has read her and that hits her vulnerability. To me it showed a whole team in synch with what they wanted to achieve; actors, writer, producer and director. It filled in a huge part of the backstory, it was superbly set up with Blomkvist playing the "illegal" card as a threat and then backing off to gain her trust and then her acting absolutely nailed it.
