      Even though I agree, I always believe that most books should be two or three movies just as they did with the current Dune.
      As for theb1980s Dune David Lynch did want to make the original Dune movie into two movies but the upper heads didn't let him.
      Two or three movies for one book that makes it to have more coverage of the Novel.

    • @misery441
      @misery441 5 лет назад +2

      @@jaguarking2892 Yeah. Fincher trying to keep Hitchcockian suspense in EVERY fucking scene, by delaying EVERYTHING as much as he can even to do something as regular as showing Henrik Vanger's flowers on the wall, and Rooney Mara's amazing performance of this flat, edulcorated an cartoonish version of a truly amazing, ambiguous and complex character are way better. Keep dreaming guys. The only thing in this film that is better than the swedish version is the cinematography, literally nothing else. Fincher is a great director, but this is one of his most poorly directed films, and Rooney Mara is out of this world, and her performance is definetly great, but if you have a flat and poorly written character, it doesn't matter if you give an Oscar performance, it just wont work. And i'm only talking about director and actress, if i start with how this film has NO NARRATIVE RHYTHM at all, or how much of a Hollywoodized version of Man Som Hattar Kvinnor it is, or how poor is the ending, or how effectist and full of exposition are some scenes, oh God, i would have to spend days writing. The swedish version isn't perfect, but it's way better than this Hollywoodized re-adaptation of a dark and brutal story. Plus, Noomi Rapace's performance would have Rooney Mara's as breakfast everyday. At least she didn't need to scream and yell about how crazy she is, for the audiences to realize that Lisbeth is way beyond dangerous.

    • @jaguarking2892
      @jaguarking2892 5 лет назад +11

      @@misery441 Rooney and Noomi performed this character in two different and opposite ways. Noomi's performance was very natural but nothing more. She just showed freaky and a bit insane attitude in some scenes but most of the time she acted like a normal person. On the other hand we have Rooney's interpretation of this character. She was calm and violent at the same time. She portrayed complex inner world of the character adding more expressiveness. Even her appearance was badass.
      Talking about directing and production I would say that Fincher's version is more suspenseful and brings more emotions even if it's more "Hollywoodized" in some aspects. The only thing I completely agree with is that Fincher's version has very slow rhythm of narration even though some original plot's details were ignored.

    I look at this and then I look at the spiders web movie and I think my god what a fuck up! Don’t get me wrong I love Clair Foy but she was handed an unenviable situation. No one could have been able to appreciate the effort that was made because they skipped two whole books, and those facts not withstanding you still have a clumsily put together movie most of which is revealed in trailer.

    I think it worked out better with Rooney Mara than Yolandi Visser. I think Visser would oversexualize the character. Make you pay too much attention to the erotic then the suspenseful plot. It worked out so well because later Visser would take a main role in "Chappie" with Watkin Tudor and knock it out of the park. Mara was exceptional in the role in this movie. Casting is so important I think.
