- This video is about a day in the life of me, an unemployed millennial beginning my search for employment :D
In this video, I mostly share with you guys my process for writing my resume, cover letters, or taking on any writing projects in general. As a perfectionist, writing and getting started on a blank slate can be intimidating. If you have felt the same way, then here are some of my own tips and tactics I use to help me start writing (or even just stop procrastinating)! A: I have worked since I was 14 years old, took a semester off undergrad to work full-time, and RUclips ~while not traditional~ is a job!!

“Unemployed millennial” is a big mood
I feel this! It's been 6 months since I graduated and still no job. I've been actively applying to jobs every week, I've had a few interviews, and still....NO JOB! It's so easy to get discouraged. :/

What’s your major and where do you live? Also, did you do any internships? Those factors can affect your job search a lot.
Esther Ahn I studied Communication and Cinematic Arts and I live in LA. I had internships at Billboard Magazine and Yahoo! so I thought that would give me some good experience and make me unique you know? Guess not. It’s honestly all about who you know :/ No one gives me the time of day unless I was referred by someone in the company.
I'm so happy you made this video!! I graduated from college in December and have been looking for a job ever since. It's really discouraging seeing all of my friends get their dream jobs and moving up in life. However, I know my time will come. In the mean time, positivity is key.
I think the biggest takeaway that I’ve learned from this year as all of my friends are working at incredible companies is just to not compare. I’m on a completely different path and like you, I find it helpful to believe in myself, be confident in that, and know that my time will come. And life isn’t too bad so I’ve been learning to enjoy and savor the journey along the way. Love your attitude and I’m so glad you shared this comment. Best of luck to us both 🤞🏼

Jobs are very hard to get these days.
To be honest she isn’t trying that hard. If you don’t have a job you should be spending 8 hours a day working on finding a job whether that’s working on your resume, reaching out to people on LinkedIn, actually applying. I think if she really just focused, she’d be fine.
Macy Shaw totally but when you’re an influencer, have your own brand as a RUclipsr, had an amazing internship, went to UCLA, it really shouldn’t be that hard

I have two whole ass degrees. Been working nonstop since I got my BS. Girl, enjoy not working, I wish I would have taken a year off because now it’s a lot harder since I’m in the middle of building my career. I know it can be frustrating bc it sounds like you didn’t choose to not have a job, but I guess there’s a silver lining? Hugs!
Girl same here. I graduate on Tuesday and recently had a job offer rescinded. So now I’m feeling down when I should be happy about graduation, but I’m also jobless 😩

I’m 28 and had a job interview about a month ago for an ENTRY LEVEL job at blue cross and I just found out I didn’t get it. It was basically my dream job, and they crushed me lol
I'm graduating high school this year and all 4 of my English teachers were adamant on writing essays/brainstorming/outlining by hand! I agree with everything you said: you're able to focus better, and apparently even the physical component of writing things out helps ideas flow better... I guess it has to do with using multiple learning styles and helping you slow down. I always brainstorm with a pen and paper, and I try not to cross anything out because you never know if a great idea is hidden behind a poorly worded sentence! Haven't commented in a while but I've been watching your videos since your high school days too! Best of luck with the job search :)
I graduated from college in December 2017 with no job. I didn’t find a job till July. And it’s not even a job that needs a degree. I have been looking for a better job since I started that job. So I feel like it’s harder to find a job with a job.
Finally something relatable, I had a breakdown about my student loans today and then I took so many beta blockers that I was tired for the rest of the day.
This is such a mood.. I feel the exact same. I graduated in May and am moving out to LA hoping to get a job.. EVERY job I apply for has minimum 100 others applying as well it’s so hard to stay positive. I just try to remember that my time will come and I’m sure yours will too! Just gotta keep trying

You shouldn’t have a problem finding a job didn’t you graduate from USC Marshall? The network in Cali is so strong. My son is a sophomore in college and I always tell him to look before graduation so he can hopefully work right out of college and have it set but not so easy I know
I think she doesn’t want a corporate job. She could probably easily get a corporate job if she focused and used the Trojan network but I guess she wants something different.

I wonder why she got laid off? She is focusing on making RUclips videos instead of refining and upgrading her skills at the office so she can provide more and greater service to the company. She is focusing on building relationships with RUclips subscribers instead of building relations with upper management. She is lazy. look at her.

I have worked in the corporate world over 25 years and have never been laid off! Company bosses appreciate " Perceived" loyalty and if they think you have outside projects going on they feel as though you are distracted and not fully vested in the company!! ... Just look at her talking about the last job she failed at!... she doesn't even admit the role she played in causing the company/firm to be less interested in her... look forward to more layoffs buddy!!!

Except for the old, sick and the disabled ...there would be no jobless in a world that simply shared the jobs/work. No one would have to beg for benefits or charity... Everyone would be able to 'earn' what they have. It's only the stupid notion that jobs must be around 40 hours a week that causes unemployment and the fear of losing jobs.
