- I'm kicking off a new series of videos for our recent trip to Tennessee. In this first video we take a leisurely drive through the Great Smoky Mountains National Park on the Roaring Fork Motor Nature Trail. The trail starts near the Gatlinburg entrance to the park in Gatlinburg, TN. Along the way we stopped at a few places for a closer look at some overloook views, rustic abandoned cabins, and numerous views of the Roaring Fork river.

The cabin you walked through (the one with the graffiti on the walls) belonged to my great grandparents. It was moved there from the Sugarlands due to being vandalized. I love knowing that my heritage comes from such a wonderful, beautiful, place. My mother was born and raised in Gatlinburg, but moved to Florida as a young adult. She passed away last November and we took her ashes to Levi Trentham to be laid to rest with her family. That was the third time I had visited, and I hope to be back more often!
Wow, that is so cool, thanks for sharing! I love seeing/hearing the history behind these cabins and structures. It's really quite amazing.
@@OutdoorVector I have learned so much about my mother's side of the family. My great great great grandfather was Frederick Locke Emert. (First settler in Emerts Cove which is now Pittman Center). He was a soldier in the Revolutionary War. He had one child with Caroline Parton (William Earl Parton) which is my great great father. My great grandfather was Williams child, Hubert Parton. Which is the one that lived in the cabin with his wife Margaret Cole Parton. I love history and more especially when it's about my ancestry ❤
Great video, very green and relaxing, thanks for sharing. Can't wait to see the other videos of the park.
Thanks for watching!
One of the best drives in the Smoky Mountains National Park been there many times try to find Heintoga picnic area slate Rock tables 5 fantastic overlook s
Will do!
Thanks for the Gypsy Guide suggestion, it looks interesting and very fairly priced. I've been through the Smokies, but the other 3 of my family have not. This addition would certainly make it more interesting for all.
Hope you enjoy it!
If you don’t get good reception how does Gypsy work?
If I remember correctly, basically you can pre-download (with WiFi or when you have coverage) the area that you'll be in. That way all you need is a GPS signal for the app to work correctly and trigger at particular locations. Thanks for watching!
My husband and I got sooo lost. Foggy night, and we actually saw Lucy of roaring fork. SCARY 😳
Lucy of Roaring Fork! Yikes! Thanks for watching. 😳
To anyway how reads this. At the time stamp 13:00 you’ll see a white van parked. Where that can is parked I lost wooden pocket knife that says my name ‘PJ Blair 18-23-12’ on the knife. I lost in in the water… to anyone who is able to find it I will give them 1,000$ please help bring my knife home
I hope you find you pocket knife.
He didn't mention that you have to pay for the tours on the app. This is not a free app. $12.99 to go through the Smoky's.
Yep that’s true. Thanks for making that clear.
$14.99 now lol inflation
@@OutdoorVectorand without reception in the woods how does it work?
