Robert I love your videos. I am 58 yrs old, lives in Mississauga, Ontario and wish to travel like you but I failed to convince my wife to do this. I wish one day me and my wife can travel with RV and see beautiful North America.
Traveling Robert my second favorite state after Virginia. I live in Virginia. I didn't like living up "Nawth". Fortunately I have lived in Virginia for longer than I lived up North.
GSMNP is the only national park without an entrance fee. That's because the state of Tennessee demanded that no fee be charged as a condition to transfer the land to the federal government for the creation of the park.
We did the Tail Of The Dragon on a motorcycle. My husband was going a bit faster then I wanted. It was exciting and scary. I have been binge watching your videos for the past few days, I love them!
Great video! it bring me thoughs of the years that I lived in Chattanooga TN, if you want to see all the seasons in it’s full esplendor you have to go there.
Waser, lol...the main thing there is what you drove by, the NOC (Nantahala Outdoor Center) where they have had world championship water sports competitions.
1962, I think, forest fire at Fontana Lake. Our college dorm was the nearest pool of men. They cane for us at 1 o'clock in the morning, loaded us on a bus, and off we went to man the fire lines. We got paid, a wild sum of 36.00 dollars, which was a magnificent sum at the time. We felt rich, dirty and tired. A fond memory from my time at WCC, correct name at the time.
I went to gainburg back in 1982 in September and It snowed us in for an extra day.at that time it was not at all crowded. but the snow made it like a winter wonderland
Hi Robert, Just a little more info about the “Tail of the Dragon” for your viewers. 318 curves in 11 miles. Sport car owners and motorcyclists the world over come to the “Dragon” to test their skills. There is also a “Tree of Shame” for those who fail and wreck their ride. If they have lived and most do, (alot don’t), they are supposed to hang some part of their “ride” on the “Tree”. NOTE: State Patrol heavily enforce speed during peak tourist season but for those who dare....The adrenaline rush is incredible.
Indeed Paul, my friend who owns a motorcycle has rode on this "TOTD" many times. Of course he is not that brave enough to push the limits on speed. He lives nearby, so that's where I got the info, and hearing Robert was going to visit the area, -- was super cool! I have yet to get to the point where he rides on the "Dragon", be interesting to hear his comments. That area has several "curved" roads....I remember my dad driving our rental Class A near Cherokee NC with many curves and switchbacks...
Taken my 21' chinook on a road trip late October... been home since the March (virus) ...so road trip .. Leaving Southwest Colorado and of October gonna be a snowbird I'm so glad you did these great videos thank you... Because I have never been East of the Colorado state line! Gidyupp
one of the most things i like about Robert's channel is he puts subtitle on almost videos 'cause i'm not a English-speaker, it's really helpful to me. Thank you Robert!!!
Bryson City NC is my fav town. Tourists, but not overrun with them like Gatlinburg. Great little restaurants. I rented a beautiful log house last year with a wrap around porch with long range views as the base for driving around the Smokey Mtn Park. It was heavenly as all the leaves had turned colors. That was before I got my Minnie trailer. Love that area!
Hi Robert, superb video as ever. Perhaps sometime you might like to drive the whole of the Blue Ridge Parkway all the way up to Shenandoah National Park, it would be a great experience. Allow plenty of time though, every overlook is better than the last one!
My grandmother would drive us (Mom and I) on the BRP, she'd book a night at the Otters' Creek Lodge, had some fond memories of that place, the first time i went I thought the mountain was haunted...over time I think I convinced myself it wasn't haunted. Now this was when I was like 4-8 I think....this age i am wanting to revisit places I went when i was a little tike....
Goooooooooood Morning Robert. Loved your GSMNP Video. Your traffic experience is one reason one of the largest National Parks does not charge a fee to get in. Can you imagine how much more additional traffic charging a National Park Fee would create? You didn't miss much not going to downtown Gatlinburg. Fall is always very busy. I'm glad Newfound Gap was pretty. Sorry you lost a memory card. That happens to the best of us! Thanks for sharing your experience.
I love the fall colors, but it signals the coming cold. It is so cold. I wish the colors lingered a bit longer, and I'm glad you finally got to capture the eastern side. It was beautiful.
got a tip to check out your uploads....gorgeous in the Smokies, blue ridge, Highlands & all around is breathtaking Robert...been there often....little places for organic produce...chilly in the Panhandle of Fl too..thanks for your generious shares ~
Hi Robert you ever by in Helen GA? Traffic is crazy like this in Tennessee. Never ever come on Saturday or Sunday you going to spend at least 4 hours on one line road traffic. It is crazy.
Thanks for showing. Blue Ridge Pkway. We live in Blue Ridge, Texas. Great Videos.always LIKE your videos and we are subscribers. .Great Music too. Thanks again Robert. Age here is 76 so can't travel any more so we let you do it for us.
I used to do motorcycles rides up from Florida in that region back in the 90's and early 2000's. Haven't been back since then but will be in that area in about a month with another motorcycle. It is absolutely beautiful up there...
Beautiful Fall scenery It's tough when traveling with a trailer behind you to stop at a lot of the small roadside places. We were in Smokies last y ear
I did things the opposite way. First bought motorhome and the changed to camper. I am loving my airstream but there are definitely pros and cons to both
Thank you so much for this video I've been trying to find out this stretch of road that we took last year to pigeon forge we had made a wrong turn and it turned out being the most beautiful wrong turn ever. Want to make the same wrong turn again this year
Man you really have a smooth delivery . your voice in the videos quite nice and no shi&% electronic music. Editing is great. I Hope you have someone special in your life to do this adventures with. KEEP PLOWING 🐊
Thanks for another great video Robert. You didn't miss anything when you bypassed Gatlinburg, Now don't get me wrong I love your country and have spent many enjoyable stays there however, IMO Gatlinburg is the worst of the USA. What was once a lovely mountain town has been totally ruined.
Yah...I did the Tail of the Dragon in my F350 Crew Cab Dually with a 32' trailer in tow...seemed we took "a short cut". Well...not to bright but I get through it without wrecking anything...yes I pulled off when I could to let people pass.
Southwestern North Carolina is beautiful! I love to take the back way into NC up US74 from Cleveland Tn through Ducktown. It's nice and you bypass Knoxville and all the traffic on I-40.
Recently discovered your videos. They are great! Love the presentation and music, as well as your comments. You are a wonderful videographer. Keep making them!
As always, great video. To see great Fall colors, you need to go to New England. It starts at the beginning of October in way Northern New England to Mid-October in Central and Southern New England.
This yr. the north end of Blue Ridge Parkway's Fall was 2 days of full color. Day one was rain the next day the colors were not as vibrant. Then the leaves turned different shades of brown then fell off in just a few more days. The west side of the mountains is normally cooler and the leaves turn quicker. To bad you did not see the real height of fall. I would never go up in the mountains on a weekend. Tues. Wed. is much better. If your real lucky you may be the only one on the road for miles.
Great video, I know just what you mean about the Gatlinburg traffic, I have encountered it many times and every year it gets worse! Keep the great videos coming. See ya on the road one day.
Robert great video you were at some of the places I went back in Dec 2015, Townsend, and US 321, and of course driving south on US 441 through the Smokies...on 1 section of the video I thought you captured my similar photo I took, but it wasn't....Been cool if it was. I think that this video segment was by far 1 of your best...too bad that Tail of Dragon SD card was lost...would have been cool! Glad you were able to make it back safely, and honestly Gatlinburg is really a big Tourist town, very similar to Helen GA, lots of "German look a like buildings...and many many people" -- perhaps another time....

Waser, lol...the main thing there is what you drove by, the NOC (Nantahala Outdoor Center) where they have had world championship water sports competitions.
You beat me to it. lol
I loved the narration and scenic views. We are new to the R V world and looking forward to our own experiences.

The nantahala area is incredible
Beautiful scenery.
Diana you are so absolutely right!👍
Leaves peak over several days, not all at once.
The AT shelter at Fontana Damn is known to thru-hikers as the Fontana Hilton because of the size of the shelter and its amenities.
Mt. Mitchell is a must!
I've made a note to visit next time
Amazing, siempre welcome sus videos thank very much Robert.

Paul Howell I was there, yes, I’ve done the curves and all these beautiful roads... nice colors Robert
Very curvy road, as are many in the area. Highway 28 was pretty curvy too and I did that one towing the trailer
Wonderful job narrating 💕 thank you
Wonderful video. We love the BRP! Excellent narration. You have an excellent narrator's voice.
Thank you so much
Robert enjoyed that very much
Taken my 21' chinook on a road trip late October... been home since the March (virus) ...so road trip .. Leaving Southwest Colorado and of October gonna be a snowbird I'm so glad you did these great videos thank you... Because I have never been East of the Colorado state line!

Yes, the next time I do the BRP I'm going to do the whole thing.
So much to see along the BRP: Waterrock Knob, Mabry Mill, Northwest Trading Post, Humpback Rocks Pioneer Farm,...
My grandmother would drive us (Mom and I) on the BRP, she'd book a night at the Otters' Creek Lodge, had some fond memories of that place, the first time i went I thought the mountain was haunted...over time I think I convinced myself it wasn't haunted. Great seeing Wears Valley Road where I used to own property.
Deep Creek near Bryson City is a great place to go tubing.
This trip is in the top, of my bucket list.
Marcos Custodio did you read my mind? North Carolina is on my bucket list too.

How do I find that place?
What a beautiful the "New found Cam" view
Yes, it was breathtaking
The Appalachians are beautiful

Yes it is. I'm going to try to go back next month too.
Other than Gatlinburg and you rv campsites I have been to every place you filmed. Gatlinburg is to commercialized and I avoid it.
so how did the fall colors go in the smoky mountains in october of 2018.
Great videos and funny comments, thanks
Beautiful Fall scenery It's tough when traveling with a trailer behind you to stop at a lot of the small roadside places. We were in Smokies last y ear

The plan is to leave to New England soon. I've heard this year fall colors are going to be great.
BEAUTIFUL FALL COLORS BORN AND RAISED IN BLUE RIDGE MOUNTAINS OF VIRGINIA MOST BEAUTIFUL PLACE ON GOD'S GREEN 💚 EARTH 💚💚♥️🇺🇸
Too much enticing video especially the different color of leaves ..loved the forest.. this forest can be seen in wrong turn movies...love you Robert
The leaf color changes are late this year. Last year it was at peak the first and second weeks of October.
Have you ever been on the Cherohala Skyway? You were very close and it is well worth the visit.
Robert, come to pigeon forge on labor day weekend and camp with my family. Riveredge rv park. Lots to see and do up there
I was there a couple of months ago. Beautiful area.
Next time you're in that area, try and stop at Na-Bers drive in on 19. It's between Cherokee and Bryson City.
Fantastic views and amazing burgers.
