@@MajilBo that’s what’s up man, I just saw them live on their latest tour a month ago, they’re killing it as always, they’re currently working in their new album, it’s been way too long 😆 I actually discovered them right as paradise lost was coming out
Thanks again for delving into Symphony X guys! Loved how it sparked such a great conversation. You guys were basically correct in your interpretation of the song. This album has a lot of songs that touch on a possible future where machines are the ultimate power. This band used to tour with Dream Theater and that just happened to be my first concert experience. Symphony X loves writing songs about mythology and sci fi. They even have a song called The Odyssey which is a 20 minute epic that tells the story of Odysseus from the ancient Greeks stories written by Homer. Great musicians too! I’ll have to send you some more Symphony X down the road!
I absolutely love Symphony X. Saw them open for Dream Theater twice and saw them headline with the Symphonic band EPICA (who you need to do more of btw) opening for them. Also have seen their singer, Sir Russell Allen, with Adrenaline Mob (which included Dream Theater drummer Mike Portnoy) and the Trans Siberian Orchestra
Oh man, I was literally just talking about these guys earlier today! Still one of my favorite bands of all time, and Twilight in Olympus is underrated as hell
Saw these guys open for Blind Guardian in 02 or 03. One of the greatest shows I've ever seen. At one point, the guitarist did a tapping solo, then passed the same rif through keys, bass, vocals, and even drums (they had toms tuned to an octave).
Symphony X was my gateway into Progressive and Symphonic Metal, there is plenty more you need to hear and i recommend Incantations of the Apprentice for one.
You gotta check out Through the Looking Glass pt 1-3. A bit of a long listen but might be my favorite progressive metal song of all time rivaling the Glass Prison by Dream Theater Edit: you could actually just check that whole album out it’s god tier
This group is an all time favorite for me in this genre of Metal. From Underworld to Iconoclast and everything in-between , from Hell and Back to Reign in Madness, there is something about the way these guys do storytelling that makes them enchanting. If you want a group who does Rock Operas, these are the guys to check out! Id love to see you guys do more from Symphony X! Anything from Iconoclast is absolutely stellar music!
Symphony X are so damn good. They are an essential in progressive metal. The Neo-classical aspect of prog metal is their main characteristic. Try "The Accolade" and "The Accolade II" for some more heavy goodness. For the full on epic journey, listen to "The Odyssey". It's progressive to the max and still feels too short at 23 minutes.
Just saw them in concert a few weeks ago, and they put on a killer show! Here are a few suggestions for them: "Walls of Babylon", "Iconoclast", "Serpent's Kiss" or "Kiss of Fire"
@@Hollywood6IX and now I know. Before, I thought it was the two of you running the whole show: thumbnails and editing, vetting Patreon/RUclips comments, scheduling, etc.
Morning fellas! Very Kool band! I really enjoyed this! Definitely not what I expected! Lol! Very good❤️💯🤓 and I totally agree with every damn word you said about AI..for reals!!!
I have a funny story. Several years ago me and my mother were watching Jimmy fallon. At the time, we hadn't had homemade lemonade in years. We had just made some right before the show when all of a sudden He had a skit with a guy dressed like Christopher columbus, and he was singing Hey weird song about homemade lemonade.😂 Turn at the time, Jimmy Fallon had not ever made any weird songs. And then all of a sudden, the very day we made ours. He puts out a song about it. I don't know. It seems weird to me. We were watching the show on a smart tv.😮
Hi. When listen THE ODYSSEY AND DIVINE WINGS OF TRAGEDY. MASTERPIECE OF 20 MIN. UNDERSTAND ALL TALENT OF SYMPHONY X. THE MASTERS OF CHANGE RHYTMICS AND VOICES. ETERNITY SYMPHONY X MY BAND FAVORITE ALL TIME. THANKS. FOR THE VIDEO. GREETINGS FROM CHILE
Queensryche, Fates Warning and Dream Theater are referred to as the Big 3 of progressive rock/metal but it should be the Big 4 just because of Symphony X!🤘
Rush, of course, predates all of them, but was a huge influence on these guys (guitarist especially). Russel Allen has to be one of the best vocalists out there as well! Listen to The Odyssey if you want their full range of talent on display!
My favorite metal band of all time, they are the most underrated too, definitely gotta react to their stuff more 🤘
Absolutely underrated! I saw them live when Paradise Lost came out, but I noticed they haven't realised new stuff in almost ten years.

"The Odyssey" is such an amazing song. It is the very definition of Epic.
You know how some songs create a mental picture in your head? Symphony X- The Odyssey. You're welcome...

Gave me 80s metal vibe with ronnie James dio added to it. Enjoyed it

Wow that’s like my favourite tune of theirs. Don’t think I ever saw anyone react to it. Cool
Russell Allen Is the closest thing to Dio that I've ever heard. Almost as if he were his disciple.
Paul Gilbert is one of the unseen guitar Gods... Absolutely amazing what he can do with a drill with picks!!!
Paul Gilbert?! Is not Michael Romeo playing here?! Is the founder of Symphony X.

Smokey thinks exactly like me. I've noticed that.😊❤🤘
Does Jonny need a ‘Keep Caml and Proofread’ shirt too?

We have a big team here at the Trash Talkers Studios Mike and he's a vital part of it lol.

Nightwish is cringe. This is good symphonic metal🤘🏼
Weirdly cool. Hey, you might be interested in "Driven to Destruction" or "Beyond the Eyelids" by Riverside.
