@@NicknLex I Love all kinds of music except Rap and Country music, I just can't deal with it, when i was a little kid, my dad would ram the old-time country music down our throats and now, I can't listen to it
I think there may be plenty of subscribers who like you Alexia are getting to understand this genre of music. I most certainly am one of those people. A couple of years ago I would run a mile if I heard the opening bars of a song like this. But the channel has opened my old ears to much new music (to me) and I settled in, rode the early storm and by the end was really enjoying everything that was going on! Thanks Nick, from Van Halen to Symphony X in one evening. Cool.
Neo-proficio! Though heavy very listenable. At 6:30 it still goes all the way back to Yngwie influence. Which I will always love. What makes Eddie VH different from this style is his back up singing and Blues approach to shredding. I saw queensryche a few weeks ago and they sure sounded technical for a live show. This is great though and I appreciate it.
When I saw "Nevermore", I was so happy that you were going to hear 'Alan Parsons Project : The Raven' : Nevermore from 1976, but alas it was SYMPHONY X (sigh). OK, I'm listening ... hmmm that's pretty cool. I like his voice and they are very tight. Not my fav but I'm glad it's not growling. Thanks.
@@NicknLex I see you did The Raven 3 years ago and I liked your vid. Oppps, I forgot (time fies) / P.S Yes, I did like it and am glad to now know some SYMPHONY X.
Reading the comments here, it's cool that people can be receptive to this genre who may have shunned it...but I really can't. It's too much, too frenetic, just makes my head want to turn in and hide. As I've gotten older, I definitely have taken a turn to groove and jazzy cool. Speed Metal and Prog Metal are too many decades of taste evolution away for me now. Kind of sucks because clearly it's technically masterful.
I hope you give these musics more of a chance. I mean . . I'm 60, and I still follow new bands of various subgenres. I mean Symphony X is TAME compared to other bands, or there are bands equal to their heaviness and musicianship. Btw - their albums _before_ "V" are not as heavy, and Russel has a great cleaner voice, so you might just like them.
Hehehehe - The WRONG kind of Gringo's mi jefe 😆. Seems those guys don't come here for whatever reason (as I see them show-up at other reaction channels). Nick may have to create just a Metal channel, that describes he is just learning more about it, and _that_ may get more people to "understand" and suggest stuff that he may like. I know Nick doesn't like "Cookie Monster" vocals, but some bands out there do it for a reason and it goes well with the type of Metal. But there is a LOT of melodic vocalists in "Prog Metal" and other Metal bands. - From Tony (the "Gabacho" 😊)
. . . . actually I have NEVER seen Symphony X !!!! I know, don't pelt stones at me! I don't know why. I do have a friend now that I've gone to a few concerts with, and Symph X, Maiden and Helloween are his fave bands, so as soon as they release a new album, we'll go see them :). I have "V" all the way to "Iconoclast", but want to purchase the older albums because Russel Allen's vocals can be much softer too. I just wish _more_ "LaFamilia" from the States and South America would chime in! We need more Metalheads damn it! ☠🏴☠🤘 I mean come on people . . . even "Lexi" gets it! 🤯 Great reaction Lexi and Nick, mi Metal compadre (and all things Jarzombek & Holdsworth)! - Tony
Thank you Nick!! Glad our conversation gave you this idea! It was awesome to see Alexia jamming out to this! Fun! Such a banger!!
Glad you enjoyed it!
I saw them a few weeks ago (slightly off center stage and right on the barricade) - what an epic show!!!!
I really like this music, it's very energetic and it seems like they put a lot of work into their craft, it's really good
Very Happy you enjoyed the track!!!

A message to Nick: I bought tickets to America, War on drugs, kings of Leon and Everclear today for my next 4 shows.
Never heard this song, but I liked it. Russell Allan's vocals are great. How would Dream Theater with him on vocals?
Narvik, I'm curious, anything new or old in Metal or Prog Metal that you have been getting into lately?
Thanks 🙏
More symphony X reactions please..!
We will!
The machine behind the drums is known as Jason Rullo.
crazy runs ! 80's speed metal to me

I hate growling MonsterSound. I would never show Alexia anything like that. We did listen to the entire Raven I believe. Glad you liked it a little 👍

. . . and then there is Nevermore the "Band" :P Melodic vocalist but even HEAVIER than Symph-X.
