My Q is easy and works with multi vehicles. $350!!!! One vehicle and can work view status of garage door until on driveway. MyQ takes 15 min not half day to install or wait for Tesla to install. If you sell vehicle your out of pocket expense is gone. At $45 a year it takes 7 years to equal cost of Tesla install. Food for thought.
I just purchased a used 2021 Y. Is there anyway to know if one of these is already installed from the previous owner short of taking apart the frunk ? If there is an existing one there, is there any way to use it for my garage? I don’t see Homelink as an option on my screen in the car. It is not worth it to me to spend $350 but if one is there already I can tap into already I’d be happy to have that
I believe you installed this on the incorrect side of the mount. the unit should be on the side facing the bumper as the antenna is directional. This may work but your range will be greatly reduced if the unit is reversed and the antenna is facing inward. May wany to update the video as Tesla installs the unit behind the bumper if you but them from them.
Love the video. If you have homelink in a current Tesla and you purchase a new Tesla and want to move it to the new Tesla, how could you "deactivate" homelink in the old Telsa? Or is that automatically done once you remove the homelink adapter?
Bought the same OEM unit from Ebay and went to install today on my 23' Model Y performance and when doign the software install in service mode it said "Failed to update Homelink Configuration"...unauthorized configuration change. hmmm anyone have any ideas? Really dont want to pay Myq to open my garage.
My ebay search says that part number is good for 2017-2022 models bro! Are you telling me this thing works on your 2023 Model Y? Hmmm... Price I found was about $100 cheaper than going thru Tesla and Tesla will install. Did you get parts that "fell of the truck" somewhere? Way too much risk with this approach.
You should make the video little bit longer for complete and test out your garage open and closed before end video
Cool someone likes evs down south and took the time to make this. Thanks.
Thanks for great video and just ordered one from Ebay hopefully it will be just that easy!!
Great video... I have installed it by my self.
And all went fine, but it says present key and I can't there not add it to my garage.
Do you know why?
Does the 2023 July build work with this? Thanks

No. It is the principle of not paying a monthly fee to open your own damn garage door. Piss on those companies that do that.
@@SpaceDad42 so angry
If your internet is down, My Q won't work.

Model 3 it is installed after the bumper is removed.
Do you know of the phone charger issue of overheating iPhones? If so a video on this could be useful.
Thanks for your great video. Tesla tries to rip off its customers, again.
Thanks. Got my Y last week.
Love this! Thanks for the video.
Glad you enjoyed it!

It does not move to your new Tesla.
@@SveltoPerformance You can move them to a new vehicle. This video is what lead me to yours :) ruclips.net/video/45O6ZEXrOrg/видео.html
The Tesla rep stated the same point, that it cannot be moved. I need 3 channels so I need to stick with homeLink.

The price on Ebay is very close to what Tesla charges.
how much is the part?
Could you provide the eBay seller name?
Yes, please 🙏🏾
Will this home link also work for the model s and x? There’s also a 1114984-00-B. Are these similar?
I am not sure, sorry

Yes, it works on my 2023 Model Y.
Mounted it in wrong direction
It’s mounted correctly from the install docs from Tesla
I saw that it should be mounted the other way around.
@@kothareddykrishna not sure, just what I read in the documentation. Works perfectly fine.
Do you have a link to the documentation? thanks @@SveltoPerformance
@@zhikangfan6936 sorry, I do not have any documentation
Can you provide the eBay link?
Search “Tesla Model Y “Homelink” in eBay. There are tons of them.
