  • "Bonjour!
    After 2 years we were finally able to have our yearly "repas du village": a lunch with all of the people of our village. It is one of those simple joys that I love so much about living in a tiny hamlet in the French countryside. Taking you along with me so you can enjoy a taste of it too!

    You created a French travel brochure video. The pot luck lunch, village, wine cellar all seem like a movie set...so intriguing. This was really enjoyable, merci.

    Loved the visit to the market, seeing the market baskets, hearing the musicians and you could almost smell the cheeses😊I love seeing how people choose quality above quantity in practically every part of their lives..

    I loved this video Marloes! I loved seeing your community gather and share food, laughter and conversation. Also the visit to the market was lovely as you were able to hear the sounds and liveliness of the city and then ending it with wine tasting 🫶🏽

      @@benedictives9559 yes, french countryside = always needing a car to get somewhere. We do plan to go out for errands and groceries only 2 times a week and since we work from home we never need and use our car for that so I think we still drive a lot less than most people. You can look for a village that has public transport or / and a safe route to cycle to the nearest shops. Our closest train stations are in Beaune and Meursault, both at about 20 minutes

      @@FrenchCountryLife Incredibly kind of you to respond to us. I am grateful for your insights on everything. We have always sought a simpler life after living in Greece years ago and are now considering a walkable French village life. Please know that you are admired and thought of with our best efforts!

      @@benedictives9559merci! You can definitely find a larger village that has all necessary amenities, most realtors include that in the property description. For example, at 10 minutes we have a larger village where our boys go to school. It only has like 1200 inhabitants but it serves as the go to place for the surrounding small villages so it has two primary schools, a secondary school, 3 GP’s, a dentist, 3 supermarkets, a small hardware store, a garden center, several boulangeries, hair dressers, banks, pharmacies, cafes and restaurants etc. So if you find something in a village like that you wouldnt need a car, only when you go out to visit friends, need something from a specialist store or take on activities outside of your village. For us, with driving kids to soccer games and trainings and friends etc, we couldn’t live here without a car. But it can be different when you choose another village and since the pandemic, with many people wanting to move to the countryside we see many new businesses being opened and bakeries and small épiceries return to smaller villages!

    Thank you for letting me see Beaune. My grandfather was in an American Red Cross hospital in Beaune during WWI and I have his letters written in April 1919. I still hope to visit Beaune some day but till then your video has given me a chance to see it. Lovely!

    Bonjour j’aimerais avoir votre avis sur le coût de la vie en France , car mon âme m’appelle la bas et j’aimerais trouvé un endroit pour acheter , est ce que vous pouvez me suggérer une agence immobilière ou un particulier qui est prêt à vendre ?!… merci a l’avance pour vos suggestions ❤️

    • @FrenchCountryLife
      @FrenchCountryLife  2 года назад

      Je pense que c’est difficile à dire si c’est plus cher ou moins cher qu’ailleurs… ça dépend d’où vous êtes maintenant et d’où vous choisissez de vous installer en France. Il y a des régions ou les loyers et les prix de maisons sont moins chèrs que dans d’autres… et les salaires le seront souvent également. Renseignez-vous d’abord en ligne auprès de différents agences. Mon amie @samfournier a fait une vidéo sur ce sujet sur sa chaîne RUclips, ca peut vous intéresser!
