In this episode of Stories N’ Steel, the guys head to Phoenix’s Historical District to visit with Valley hot rod fixture and cheerleader Chip Quinn of of Hot Rod Central Louver Company. There, in the blazing May heat, important hot rod guy questions are answered, such as “does this mini bike make me look like a dork?” and “should I pay the electric bill, or have more louvers punched?” ...along with an exploration of other daily car hobby-related conundrums.
It’s a fascinating walk down memory lane and deep into the things that come together in a life to make a hot rodder out of a human being.
If you’ve ever wondered what the car community and culture in and around the Phoenix area is like, you won’t want to miss this one.

Please start posting again!!! Just found the channel and the car stories are truly amazing, reminds me of stories my pawpaw would tell as a young boy.
Wow, thank you! A bunch more will be out real soon!
Thanks loved that.
Chip is a great guy he has been helping my husband hot rod his 1961 Ford Falcon Ranchero Pickup and yes of course he did the louvers on it. Thanks Chip!
Dad bought his louver press in 1958. Carried that thing around for years punching hoods. I helped him do many hoods and it was the most irritating thing for a kid to do...hold that dam hood steady!. His widow still has his old hand pump press.
It's definitely an art, and an exercise in patience and planning!

what a neat way to be raised as a kid! times sure have changed. I was wondering what louvers cost nowadays? I've got a 56 ford (car) that really needs a hood full????
Fantastic interview with Chip. I just found this channel thanks to his FB post. I can wait to watch the rest.

We were supposed to meet up back in 2015 at Pomona but it never happened. This is as good as meeting the man whose knowledge of T buckets helped me build mine. But Chip I'm still waiting for my key tag
this kind of advertising is why a 40.00 mini bike from mid 70,s is now 4 to 900.00 dollars and up its out of line bull S
