My buddies on discord and myself watched this video, and after much arguing about what features each person used, we decided that it's not really possible to account for each person's preferences in a pleasing way. I think we all could have done better to anticipate that something that works for one person doesn't always work for the others, sometimes it makes things worse. I agree that AM has some problems, but I think they are more in the little things
- The "Listen Together" feature might be problematic as it could be seen as an invasion of privacy. While obtaining permission beforehand is possible, it's still not advisable. A group listening party similar to Spotify's could be a suitable alternative. - The Shazam function integrated into the dynamic island is absolutely brilliant! It's mind-blowing. Apple Music should have implemented this like yesterday! - The pinned playlist is also a wowzer. - The Listen Together should have the album as the main card and the user's display pitcure at the corner. - I love how the "Concerts Near You" section displays artist on an order of "Number of Listens" as compared to popularirty.
notice how you are saying I, I want, I think. The point of Ui/Ux design is to please the biggest group of people that would use the app, not just you. Many people use the Radio, Many people use the search, Many people use the Library. This is selfish design
Sorry man, but it seems like you're not improving the UX at all... what you're doing is just changing the app to what makes sense to YOU. In product design you need to try and remove your own bias and instead use existing principles to make an initial design and then test that with a number of users (usability test) and amend your initial design from there. OR if your app is already live, look at reviews and gather user data to establish the user journeys, pain points, etc... Moral of the story is, the users and data decide what is best, not you. Stick to graphic design and leave the UX to the experts. Trust me, the people at Apple know what they're doing.
Sorry to be blunt but your design is ugly. I like Apple Music because of its clean UI and incredible library management, you removed both. Only Apple Music provides such detailed library management ability currently. You cannot just remove the library tab mate. Also, the genres mentioned in the search bar you removed are actually helpful when you want to explore different kinds of music. I only don't use the radio tab a lot other than that I use every other tab the app offers. On the positive side, I liked your Shazam Idea on the Dynamic Island.
I’m sorry but there’s too much information screaming at your face. It’s awful man. You’re supposed to not interact much on the app because your main goal is to relax and listen to music.

hmmmm, I still prefere the original design but I appreciate a lot the principle of challenging the concepts!
