I love that this author believes in rescue dogs. The tips and training has been invaluable and gave me moments of.... "how simple why didn't i think of it" so it's been a great tool. Thank you!

Brandon makes me think real hard about my life purpose. As a huge foreign fan of " dog" tv series i bought this book as a support ruclips.net/user/postUgkxGQVgV21bQ7B9b9duQ1ByImyT9xHbjOKq . But the part that brandon wrote about how he become a trainer of homeless dogs makes me cry. It wakes me up and force me to think hard about what i'm doing in my life right now. He was willing to risk his job for what he believed : every homeless dog must have hope and a home. He committed to his promise that he would help saving lives. He never gave up and willing to sacrifice his secure career for it. That part alone changed my life, not even mention all dogs' stories he told throughout the book. They are all inspirational.

    • @kingofthegrill

It's highly effective but it can create a bit of a dependency that you have to train out of them. From what I'm observing you can kick that cling while training off-leash, you reward the independence but also the behavior of her checking in.

We took in a Pitbull stray 7 months ago and realized how much exercise they need. So much so that we have considered giving up at times. The information on your channel for training, play, and food has been a boost for hope in our situation. We are nearing our senior years so this will make it easier to care for him. We are lucky that he was trained pretty well on food aggression and we have continued those behaviors. We will be buying some of the toys for playing as he craves tugging. We use that play to desensitize people touching his head and think the pull spring will help us provide him the energy release he craves. We definitely will be incorporating raw food in his diet as well. Thank you

Overall, just make sure the dawg is at least gettin walked. 2 or more (1 mile or longer),walks a day. They also need to smell scents and be allowed to relax on part of the walk. VERY IMPORTANT for apartment dawgs! An exercised dawg rarely mis-behaves.

She's a natural athlete and I want to do right by her and let her get the physical results she deserves. She's actually inspired me to exercise more at home and now I'm considering getting myself a rack and a bench for when I'm out in the yard with her. They really do bring out the best in us.

Great advice for making your dog fit and healthy. Be carful on the pulling exercises. My pit bull loved to go for long walks to a big park and then she would sprint like crazy at the park, it’s good to socialise the dogs this way as well. She was an alpha alpha female, she had to dominate every boy and girl dog she met. She would appear ferocious but just to gain dominance, the second that occurred she was all wagging tails, only ever hurt other dogs pride. Pit Bulls are highly intelligent and need a lot of stimulation and affection from the owner. A walk in the park was brilliant for this. As was the beach and swimming,

BIKING!!! I live in the Netherlands, so from my experience with any dog (I now have a Red Nose Pit, but have done this with Podenco and Kooiker-dogs too)- BIKING! If you live in a flat-land area like Holland or Calgary you can take your dog on a extending leash and have them run alongside you. They might have to apply at first if they are used to sidewalks but just remind them of staying close and you and your dog should be allright.
Fun is that you can adjust the pace very easily.
Very soon it will only give them more energy instead of getting them tired!!

Any dog could do this, for the pulling, start he or she out light (I just let my dog pull me, I'm around 100 lbs, in a standard toddler wagon XD) but this could be for any dog, German shepherds would be good at this as they are muscular, mainly the spring pole, they have more of a bite force than a pit. But see what they like best

Loved the video. Only thing I saw that I didn't like was the chicken leg in the bowl. Gotta take the meat off the bone for chicken. The chicken bone doesn't break in the same manner that pork and beef does. Chicken can turn into shards, that can damage the throat all the way to the intestines.

Hey buddy, Thumbs up on the video! It's obvious you know what you're talking about. Being in the veterinary field I can not agree with you more about these exercises. The only one that always makes me ponder is the first one you listed, the spring pole. I have used it in the past myself, but it always made me feel uneasy, with the potential injury risk. You most likely have more experience than me with physical fitness training, I guess my question would be; have you ever seen injury with that type of exercise? Would you consider it a highrisk exercise?
Again, great advice, it motivates me to start working out my two pups.
    Thanks Again

I did the walk in circles with the pole trick with my English bull terrier, and he loved it. He enjoyed the hell out of it, he was jumping up grabbing it, it was great and then I got so damn dizzy I walked into my tree and got a big gash in my head, so I had to be careful, so wear a helmet. Of course I’m joking, great video man, I have two English bull terriers, and this video was very informative, one is four and one is three, and I’ve been walking down 4-7 miles a day since they were born, they are very active and will tear shit up if you’re not out there keeping them busy. So I’m going to put this video to work, props to you man thanks for the video👍👍

Great Video! I absolutely loved it and smiled and chuckled the whole time. We live in Hawaii and Pit Bulls are the best for this climate. Our Pit swims/hikes a lot. We have had a PitBull die on a hike from heat stroke. So just a reminder, plenty water and shade. These dogs will run themselves to death, simply trying to please you. I hit liked and subscribed, looking forward to your next episode!

3:52 WOOOW that’s so amazing!! I never knew they were capable of that!
I found this video looking for something for my boxer. He’s starting to lean out due to an increase in exercise and recent breeding.
I’d like to change his diet but his skin allergies are crazy. The vet has him in a Rx hydrolyzed protein food but his paws haven’t improved much... he does itch less though. Great content! I’ll be digging around your channel to find any helpful info!

I’m tryna train my golden retriever rn. Got him from a breeder and is like 3+ gens pure bread. I remember since he was small he would always climb onto the couches like a rock climber and noticed dude developed some nice definition and size in his front legs and when we go on walks whenever he gets excited and close to home dude sprints all out while I still give resistance so he don’t pull my ass to the floor but he can move me pretty easy (I’m 260 but I’m not a fat slob, I still work out to stay in shape). He’s only turned 6 months recently and is on the high end in terms of weight for a golden but vet check ups say he’s healthy for his size. Can’t wait to try some of these.

I know its obvious, but boys and gals remember, please pair exercise especially bite force training with behavior training and that.
I am not a pro but we have had a lot of foster dogs, including amstiff and rottweilers, never had issues because of good training, but halfway down the street 2 big boys were put down, because of several incidents.
Dude only trained bite, like tug of war. Dogs were good but they only played mouth and yea ended up hurting other dogs
