Hey Froggy. Joe M here. Im a service tech at GM. The 00 on your scan tool is a symptom byte. It generally points you in the direction of the failure, or is used to describe what circuit or system has a failure within it. It is unknown to me why your P0300 would not clear. Key on engine off, the vehicle could not be misfiring so code should clear. Could possibly be a software issue with scan tool. Great channel by the way. I have an 02 C5...love it. I hope this helps

Hey Froggy, Joe M. here again. One more thing i noticed....you have vehicle in accessory mode...as you stated. To be able to view real time data and clear codes, you should have vehicle in Key On Engine Off mode. You simply hold down start button, after clutch or brake prompts on DIC, until you see the IPC gauges perform a gauge sweep as they normally would when vehicle is started. Then vehicle is on with engine off. You should be able to perform DTC clear then, unless there is a software issue with scan tool. Thanks again for a great channel

"If the DLC and external power source are both connected, the power jack connection supplies current to the Tech 2. In this instance, power from the vehicle's DLC connector is automatically disconnected from the Tech 2 internal power supply."

Yes, don't want to spend the $$$ for real, for a tool I use once a month maybe. But for guys that use several times a day I too would get a real one.

......And works identical to the discontinued genuine Tech 2 at a fraction of the price.
