    Eddie Howe doesn't seem to want to sell players we have to many in their thirties that aren't going to bring in fees should of been moved on. Remember the players Keegan sold to move club on Kelly, Hotiger, Cole etc.

    I’ve got a sneaky prawn feeling that this January window is going to be quite busy.
    Firstly, city are going to inject a load of cash into the market ‘cos they’re going to spend. Secondly, the lack of activity during the summer was because nervousness about PSR as the deadline was looming. That won’t apply in January. We’ll see, I guess.
    Quick word about Longstaff. I guy I know who’s an actual pro football coach said if we sell Longy a lot of clubs will be interested in him. He said this in response to the question of is he any good.

    Taking my toon hat off for a minute. I’d say the two Arsenal home wins we got were strong defensive performances (Arsenal fans will say negative) and Arsenal didn’t have their Captain and playmaker in either game. The game we lost was when Odegaard played and scored. Basically we always need to score first or we are fooked against them.

    Being realistic guys, when do you think there might be some serious changes to the PSR rules to make them more fit for purpose? I understand they were introduced in an attempt to stop clubs over-spending and going bust, like Leeds nearly did for example,, but football ownership is so different these days, surely the rules should be more bespoke to each clubs specific situation?

  • @andrewgarrett5799

    You 2 journalists know it's notoriously difficult to sign good players mid-season. The chances of us signing any first team players is low and the chances of us signing 2 is probably nil. Its more likely will sign nobody for the first team, some people are going to be super angry and disappointed at the end of the window, they really need to temper expectations.

    Lads, do you think player wages and transfer fees would ever go down? Do you think a salary cap and transfer fee cap would overcome PSR issues? As long as players are considered as some kind of financial asset, there is no chance any smaller club would break the cartel's monopoly.
    Further, how do you expect the club to continue buying players of Isak's calibre? None of Bruno, Botman, Isak or Gordon will now be affordable to us if they were playing for other teams. The toon does not simply have the resources of other teams. The region is not wealthy, and the club has simply been not successful for a long time not to dine out on past reputation like Manchester United. We need to adjust our expectations, and keep hold of our players and get the best out of them. Invest in the young ones, and turn them at least into the likes of Elliot Anderson.

  • @LGlifeisgood

    Anderson was sold because we had overspent with PSR so having academy players coming through would be fantastic if we don’t overspend, as they would be a free player and can be sold on later for full profit , are recruitment and spending hurt us , I understand the first years to stop relegation but they kept spending until the reality kicked in and we found ourselves in a 70 million black hole and we don’t know if it’s over , the management need to get to grips with PSR and I think that’s why we didn’t spend in the summer and I can’t see it in Jan , we signed pivas get him here , or sell him like Osula if he’s not good enough sell him , longstaff sell we should of sold burn and Schar tripps target the list is endless and now old players at their careers end worth nothing or contract will run out with big wages , Mitchell was right it wasn’t fit for purpose,

    • @johnenglish929
      @johnenglish929 20 дней назад +2

      Not fit for purpose but we ended up with Pope. Trippier, Tino, Burn, Bottman, Hall, Isak, Tonali, Gordon (& Minteh) ? Do me a favour.

    • @LGlifeisgood
      @LGlifeisgood 20 дней назад +1

      @ so why did we sell and why do we still have to sell and why didn’t we buy ahh that’s it because the players you named cost so much it put us in a black hole and now we can’t afford to spend more on players so yes it wasn’t fit for purpose, same people who defend this are the same people shouting why can’t we spend why aren’t we a top 4 team , where is the 70 million for guehi ,the money wasn’t there it would of ment selling Barnes miggy longstaff trips Wilson to balance the books that’s PSR , it’s a rolling 3 so what ever we spent 3 year ago is what the hole is we are in this year , we have sold nobody for profit as Anderson and minty got sold to balance the 70 million hole , yes we got good players but we are paying the price for it , so if we sell Bruno or isak so we can buy other players or just to balance the books remember you say it was fit for purpose if it had of been we wouldn’t of sold Anderson or minty, it’s basic math

    • @johnenglish929
      @johnenglish929 17 дней назад

      @ Eddie was tasked first with keeping us up, and then getting us into Europe, both of which he achieved. Mitchell has never said who he would, or wouldn’t have signed under his model to do the same. Remember, if he had got Guéhi we would have had a back line with an average age of 22. to build on. It’s easy to criticise, but Mitchell has yet to deliver - apart from a Division Two winners medal with MKDons, who went back down at the end of the season.

    • @LGlifeisgood
      @LGlifeisgood 17 дней назад

      @ if we had of bought guehi Bruno or Gordon or tonali or j7 or even isak would of been sold because we’ve sold nobody, so we would of up graded one position then weakened another , how do you think it would of gone down if Gordon or Bruno had to be sold because we’ve bought guehi, they had banked on Wilson trips being sold and miggy going to Saudi but Wilson and trips both got injured and miggy refused to go to Saudi so now we have trips 6 month left on his contract 6 months on Wilson and injured and miggy now looking like he’s been sold for half of what Saudi was willing to pay so out of 3 players we get 8 million but 3 need replacing, so where would that money come from , ? Just buying guehi wasn’t a option, target won’t go because of his huge wage , so this window we need to sell miggy longstaff trips Wilson if possible and target and that without knowing what black hole we are in for PSR , because PSR is a rolling 3 years and are spending was more than our revenue so going for Europe that early has set us back a few seasons and now we are paying the price, this year our revenue is reportedly 280mil the likes of Chelsea Man U man city ect are between 700-900 million and rising so 3 times are revenue and spending potential, so how can we compete spending 60-70 million on one player and wages , it doesn’t work that’s why we had to sell Anderson and minteh just to fill the hole not for profit so imagine if minty hadn’t turned out that good , it was luck , then Gordon would of went last summer, and people still say it’s working and Mitch wasn’t right , doing it the way they were it’s hurt us we got to Europe two possible 3 seasons to early for revenue and players , now we pay the price , Mitchell was 1000% correct it wasn’t fit for purpose, the players we have on are books are either end of career or running out their contracts so worth nothing or very little, they all need replacing burn Schar is just two , look at our bench it’s championship or bottom level premier league squad players, how can we compete when top teams can rotate their full squad, we played Chelsea second team and struggled 3 days earlier we played their first team and lost , we play every player over and over , we can’t rotate anyone that’s why we can’t compete in Europe because we didn’t have the quality of squad players we need ,

    I think we are in another black hole with finance again like last year PSR is doing what they wanted it to do , stop us spending, no matter what we think of Amanda and co they did us no favors with PSR by buying big price players yes we got to the champions league but it’s cost us so much and set us back, I can see us not spending again and if we don’t spend I hope the fans don’t get upset, especially the fans that don’t want a new stadium and don’t want to rename the stadium so they have can’t complain that we don’t have the revenue, we have made 280 million this year the likes of man city and Man U ect are making between 700-900 million so how can we compete with this PSR bull 💩 so we need a new stadium and let them re name it and do what they can to bring in more revenue, APT rules can help us more now but it’s just not enough to let us spend on big name players,

      @ then the buying of players wasn’t good because we couldn’t afford them that’s why we had the 70m black hole you can’t have one without the other , we can’t say we bought well , what happened if minty was shit , then a Gordon or Bruno would of been sold then how bad would it have looked as it nearly did so no the buying of them players wasn’t good as it didnt balance the books and we are paying the price now , Mitchell was 100% right, we can’t sell players nobody wants because they are either useless or old or injury prone, they don’t just become 20-30m players to generate 30mil we would have to sell miggy longstaff a keeper and maybe someone else but we are talking 60 70 million players to come in , it doesn’t work , we over spent we should of bought young players and slowly improved over a few seasons while they build bigger revenue, but we didn’t and Eddie and Amanda wanted to buy 50-60mil on players because of expectations well now we pay the pice ,
