As a Porto supporter who saw up close the beginning of Lopetegui's top level career, I have to say he has a hell of an agent: mediocre predictable football at FC Porto (highest spending ever by the club), ok football with the Spanish national team, turns on them right before the Euros to join RM (insane appointment), mediocre football at RM, decent football at Sevilla, sacked after a terrible season start. Wolves was maybe the only place where he impressed me，and this says a lot, he's just not a good top level coach.
David Sullivan will trow Tim Steidten under the bus to cover over his own failings as it was him who appointed S'Loppy whilst he also had his grubby little hands on a number of the pre season signing that he purchased via his agent mate. Steidten has had his hands tied since the minute he joined the club simply because Sullivan is a typical little Napoleon who thinks that he's always the smartest person in the room
This is a good gig for Potter. He has a good squad and a few good months to hone his art and pick this club up. The only downer is he’ll won’t have too much time for training with fixtures coming thick and fast. They need to bow out of all cup competitions to focus on only the league
You can’t compare the pressure at a club in the world view like Chelsea to a pretty mid club like West Ham. He won’t be under any kind of pressure to win cups and qualify for the UCL. He’s allowed to lose to all top 6 club and his job won’t be on the line. As long as he finishes in a respectable league position he’ll be pretty fine
