- Pizza Wars is back, and Nicole Russell is continuing her quest to become the world's next master pizza maker. Throughout this season, the Last Dragon Pizza founder will enlist her friends Frank Pinello (Best Pizza) and Josephine Giordano (Lenny's Pizza) to help take her skills to the next level. On the Season 2 premiere, Frank and Jo challenge Nicole to master one of the world's most traditional pizza styles: Neapolitan-style fried pizza. Will Nicole's pizza fritta beat out master pizzaiola Giorgia Caporuscio and her classic montanara pie? Tune into the season premiere of Pizza Wars and find out!
Special thank you to Naples field producer Tony Mastroianni.

PIZZA WARS IS BACK! Which pizza styles should Nicole conquer this season?
I want to see a peanut butter pizza recipe! I grew up west coast and John's Famous pizza is where it started. There's only a few JPs left and none near me, so i make my own! Would love to see a pb pizza rendition from My fellow Nicole!
Love you guys!
Dessert pizzas!
Stuff crust
No wonder why the americans are the biggest people in history..
To actually answer your question, I would love to see her make Detroit style pizza. Thanks.
Really enjoyed the changes to this season so far. Blind test was a necessary change to avoid bias. And the little clip of trivia/ background on the style of pizza was a great touch!
Yeah, cause she didn't win honestly all those times last season.
@@melne1126 but she she kind of did. I remember seeing one episode where they said her pizza tasted better but it was less likely to go viral. They never really seemed bias, she just seems like she makes a really good pie. But we'll see! We all want it to be fair.
Too bad they didn't show it to the judges so they'd know what Pizza Fritta is!
Giorgia: A calzone is a pizza.
Judges: This looks more like a calzone than a pizza!
XD
So glad to see season two!
I will openly admit that I prefer a good calzone over a pie any day.
@@TheForeverRanger nothing wrong with that! I prefer a pizza but sometimes im in the mood for a calzone
@@TheForeverRanger a calzone is baked. Period. A panzarotto is fried. which is what Nicole made.
@@espressomatic my shop has been frying calzones since the 60’s. I would definitely recommend Nicole’s recipe. It was packed with amazing flavor.
Giorgia is the cutest thing ever
She truly is the best
Amen to that.
Giorgia is a beautiful person..so humble yet so good
Once again, I'm struck by how lovely and supportive the 2 contestants are towards each other. Nicole is so kind and it seemed really genuine. Love the change to a blind taste test as well! Wishing Nicole all the best
It’s pizza! What’s there to be mad about? Thank you so much for your kind words.
Giorgia is such an amazing guest! Loved this episode.
The changes were definitely needed! Glad the show is moving in a better direction, but having 2 NYC judges only gives us NYC opinions. You need to get some truly educated judges - grab a World Pizza Champion or two - they’ve been around the block a few times!! 🍕🏆😉
Yeah, having any NYC judges seems pretty redundant as it seems like any new yorker is somehow their own pizza expert...
@@nate6862 exactly!!!
the whole point is she opening a pizza shop in... NEW YORK.
Because NYC judges aren't "truly educated"?
Well if they were doing a casserole show they would have Chicago judges but it's a pizza show
Giorgia is incredible, but that Pizza Fritte seriously looks amazing.
I love the fact that this show has transitioned more towards exposing me to incredible chefs from around the world rather than it just being about who won.
Agreed 1000%, this really is the best show on RUclips.
I love seeing Nicole's growth, and I can't wait to visit her pizza shop when it opens in Manhattan!
My fav RUclips video right now no lie ruclips.net/video/XXU7zhDou0I/видео.html
i love her baby new york accent! lol
She is definitely growing. I can hear the cholesterol in her voice.
Thanks for sharing! I can see how you’re still changing the format around, but here’s a little friendly feedback if you’re interested: Nicole should 100% be in the shoes of “host” and not the judges. The dynamic was just a little weird with “we have challenges for you” and feel as if instead they should be in the role of. “I’m so happy to be here. I can’t wait to taste what you make.”. Nicole as host would be the one saying “this is the challenge for today. I can’t wait for you to taste it.”, plus the blind tasting is 100% perfect. Food for thought but overall happy to have pizza wars back.
"pissa" wars is back. That one judge has the heaviest new York accent
In another dimension Joey Coco Diaz comes out of nowhere and says "THIS 🍕 PIZZA IS TREMENDOUS"!!!!
I’m glad she’s pronouncing it correctly this season
I scrolled down to the comments because the way she used to say, "Pissa", used to grind my gears, but it sounds like she has made a conscious effort to try and stop saying it that way.
If you are talking about Frank Pinello, then... yes... he's definitely from NYC from Sicilian roots. Watch his previous show, "The Pizza Show" on Vice. He is a heck of a host!
@@fredychicano654 BACK IN NEW YORK IT WAS 86 I WAS AT JIMMYS ON A TUESDAY THE PIZZA HE HAD THERE WAS FUCKIN TREMENDOUS COCKSUCKAAA HAHAHAHA YA UNDASTAND ME JOE ROGAN?
Giorgia is the nicest person. Loved the episode!
Georgia was so cute
Frank and Jo are exactly who I wanted to see as judges. Thank you so much for continuing this series.
I love how they do slight adjustments to the competition by making it blind tastings, but at the same time keep it friendly among themselves so it's still lighthearted and not just competitive.
Absolutely, respect shown by everyone involved, I love it.
Production and process is definitely getting better! Season 2 will be great!
Ahhhh Josephine! She's the best! I am so excited for this series, and now I'm on a mission to learn how to make pizza fritta. I literally don't know jack about pizza making, but I'm funemployed and have time on my hands. 😂
So glad Frank is back on RUclips. AO OA. ... Love this show.
Nicole has such a wonderful energy! Talented yet humble
what if she put jamiacan beef pattie filling in the pizza fritta? that'd probably go insane in NY.
great show, and the new intro sequence for this season is amazing!
I loved the show already, but I agree with a bunch of folks I’m seeing the changes are great so far! I love the blind taste tests, the judges are some of my faves, and the on location segment about the fried pizza was really cool. Keep up the great work on an already rad show!
So thrilled they changed it to a blind taste test. That was my only complaint last season. And once again… now I’m hungry. lol
I love what Nicole is doing , but y'all showing this before I go to lunch is wrong.
Awesome season premiere. When does Giorgia get her own show? Maybe Babish can scoop her up for a contract with the Babish Culinary Universe.
I like the people who came back as judges. I liked both alot in their episodes.
Thank you guys so much for all the love! Giorgia, Frank, Josephine and I really had a great time shooting this episode, too. Up next, we’ve got Nick DiGiovani. He’s so dope, See you soon! 🍕🍕🍕
OMG!! When Nicole cut hers open!! My mouth started watering SO much!! DAYUMMMM that looked incredible!!
For real, though….
@@lastdragonpizza4280 For real DOUGH
This was somehow the most NYC video i've ever seen and I grew up in NYC
For real. That lady judge's accent is on another level. I was born and grew up in Morningside Heights and always felt that Brooklyn accent was a crazy caricature cause I didn't have it around me, until I met my father in law. Born in Brooklyn to Italian immigrants. We talking bout he could be the judge's father for sure. My wife was born in Queens and her mother is Polish so she doesn't have that heavy accent which I thank god for.
happy this is back! So great watching the friendly competition and great pizza making :)
first episode starting off wit a bang with 2 best competitors of last season as the judges
The first episode was a very strong start to what promises to be an awesome season.
Fuck yes so glad this is back. Loved every episode last season. Always made me wanna cook (or order in lol) even when I didn’t want to.
Love this show! So much humility. Amazing people.
Both of those looked amazing. And I like the new format. I love who you chose for judges and I think it will only up everyone's game.
They both look amazing 🤤
My favorite part about this series is how the competitors are there to compete, but they also cheer each other on. It reminds me of how you make friends from other teams at cross country and track meets.
So glad to see the new Pizza Wars season!! Great job with the judging change up and the choice of judges too! Nicole you have such a warm presence on the screen, there's no doubt your restaurant will be a huge success. buona fortuna!!!!
Thank you!
Frank is so awesome. Glad to see him on youtube again. Loved him on the Pizza Show and other things
Great start to s2!
*PIZZA CAN BE THE ULTIMATE MEAL CONTAINING ALL THE FOOD GROUPS & STILL BE DELICIOUS!!!*
Pizza is like sex. Even a bad pizza is pretty good..
This show is a star maker. Well done Nicole!
Love the judges.
So glad its back baby!! Respect from the UK!!
Don’t know if you’ve done all the filming yet but next time give the judges a description of each pizza so they’re not guessing what they’re eating
Pizza ist just the best food out there. Change my mind
Tacos ain't bad
Deep fried ice cream 👌
Only thing bad about pizza is that it is not satiating and even Neopolitan pizza is a bit high in calories
Oh! Oh! Loaded Potato Skins with cheese n' bacon and a side of quality sour cream!
Don't read my name!"!"!*!
Welcome back to my favorite First We Feast show!
Nicole, you are so legit. I am happy you are doing the blind taste test so people can stop questioning your wins. When I come to NY, I actively avoid Manhattan but once your restaurant opens - I'm stopping by.
Thank you so much!
This is actually changing the game with the blind taste test. Ohh baby
The judges and the guests are always great, but it can't be understated how much Nicole's energy makes this show. All considered, this season is off to a fantastic start.
Thank you. The crew deserves a lot of credit, too. It’s a loving vibe all around. ❤️
Giorgia is literally like the Disney princess of pizza. 🥺
the intro got me hyped for this season! nick digiovanni, inga lam, and andrew rae competing in this show? what more could i ask for?
Deep-fried pizza in Scotland is VERY different thing.
American by birth. Southern by the grace of God.
Scot by heritage......
Tell me where to go in Scotland
Pizza fritta looks amazing. It's kind of like a bigger version of a fried wonton but with the actual Pizza ingredients in there it's just genius cooking
Very nice episode. I've never seen a fried pizza IIRC. Nice work!
Fried pizza I've never heard of something like it. This should be interesting
We need More Giorgia she’s amazing
Georgia was so sweet! Both of those pizzas looked delicious and now I’m hungry for fried dough. When they said zeppole my mouth watered lol
awesome, i've been waiting for more pisa wars ;)
I was more excited for this season of Pizza Wars than Hot Ones 😬 (both are figgin awesome, but I'm really loving Nicole's journey to getting her restaurant 💙💙💙)
Great episode. Love this show
Great improvements over last season, this is fun!
The first episode was a very strong start to what promises to be an awesome season.
Nothing but the best, apparently. Great show!
This spot Keste used to do a fried pizza with a bunch of cured meats.
Congratulations Giorgia. I'd still want to try both
YES IM SO HAPPY THIS IS BACKKKKKK
So glad this is back!!
Nicole thank you for finally getting the pronunciation right
I didn't get any notifications for this video but I'm glad I found it still !
make a lot of home pizzas. never even thought of frying the dough. going to definitely give this a try.
Love the program. love the LOVE between the contestants as well as the judges. how do we switch things up though for the judging/verdict? maybe try and guess the chef?
Pipe down....
5:56 EL DIEGOOOOO
I frickfracking LOVE this show!!!
Yess the pizza wars are!!!
So glad its blind this time thats what I was looking for this season !
Yippee! Been waiting for this❗️💕
It’s back! Hell yeah! I need one of each a those!
Epic as always
PIZZA PRONOUNCED CORRECTLY WHAT IS THIS I CAME FOR PISSA!
she was pressured by the yt comments :(
@@wmahmoo - How is "pizza" pronounced, then?
@@SlickRick4EVER ruclips.net/video/qkP2F7kWn7A/видео.html should clear it up for you.
Pizza Wars is back! Love this show!
Great job y'all! Tennessee fan here, love pizza but I gotta say you guys are doing it right in NY. The show is about making pizza different/opening people's minds about something new and old at the same time. Keep up the good work! Make Dave Portnoy rate your pizzas next!
Ahh, I found a pro pineapple-in-pizza lover!!
Growing up I had neighbors that came straight from Italy..they owned a shop called Joe's Pizza...they had the best fried pizza twists( aka panzarotti..aka calzone...aka pizza fritta) that I've ever had. I always wonder why other pizza joints don't have these on the menu..probably because they come straight from the pizza shops in Italy...more shops need to make these!
Yeah love this series
I was supposed to be going to Naples in June 2020, then in June 2021, now hopefully June 2022. Fingers crossed.
Josephine and Frankie need their own show, traveling around the world
Man picks up a slice after a calzone, this one feels more like a slice.
Lol
After this season, can we get a spin-off in which these two judges start judging not just pizza, but everything? I'm picturing an updated "People's Court", stripped of all of the faux-legal rigamarole. Just two New York Italians busting out some Solomonic justice wherever it's needed.
Both of them are fantastic I’ll take one of each please!!😍
Best improvement this season: Nicole learning to say "pizza" properly.
Always loved pizza wars, but the small changes to the program are making the show so much better
Was so impressed by this first episode of season 2!
Absolutely how infectous Nicole's energy! NICOLE YOU GO GIRL! Pizza Wars is back!
Thank you! Just being me. 🍕
N: i can't wait to try your pizza 😊
G: no i can't wait to try your pizza ☺️
N: no! I can't wait to try your pizza!
G: NO! I CAN'T WAIT TO TRY YOUR PIZZA!
I'll be on this show one day I hope. Inspiring home cook been making pizzas for 10 years
Giorgia is such a sweetheart.
WHAT TIME IS IT?! IT'S PIZZA TIME!!!!!!!!!!
It's the *Peesa* show!
Nicole's hands definitely talk Italian
6:06
Aren't they supposed to be going solely off of taste? I'm confused. Why does it matter whether one feels more traditional than the other?
Because it's a pizza test. It's not a calzone or casserole test. The guest can be polite and all that but it is what it is.
You need to check out any classic pizza place in Windsor Ontario. I'm telling you, Windsor pizza is a breed of its own.
True!
