I just bought the x3 yesterday, my God am blown away, I auditioned the x2 at the store. My dealer said get x3 instead. Best speakers I have owned. AGD fir life

What made the owner tell you to get the X3? Matches the room size better?
Friend, the dimensions of my living room are the same, and I decided on the X3, I think the difference in money is more worth the investment.
@@luisrodrigonunezolguin7038 You must have an open space. In my closed space the X3 would never work. I once spent an ungodly amount of cash on some Sonus Faber Amati (3rd version) and they were way too much for my then even smaller room, which was 12X13! If I had them in an open living room, would have worked out very well. So in my enclosed space, the X3 would not work. For those who have the space, the X3 would be a better bet as they cost $2k+ more but offer up even more of this sound.
That sounded accurate to me. Pretty good.
The voice of my wife is also very accurate......impressive audiuophile sound but I am gonna divorce and looking for a wife that can sing a song that touches my soul .......

Close to 8 feet apart and about 5 from the front wall with a very light tilt towards listening position

Sounds so detailed and musical, Steve. How is the system for long listening sessions with lively music ?
It's smooth, full bodied yet detailed but not in a harsh way. Can listen for hours without issue. These are not fatiguing, but also could depend on the amp used. With the Galion A20 they are a touch warmer in the mids than the AGD and almost as much resolution. Awesome match as well. The Axxess amps are more tipped up in the treble and leaner in the bass, making them sound more uber detailed. They are never bright though, not even close.

Sounds good. Borresen is coming out with a line that is a step up from these. The bookshelf version will be about $17k I think. They are reportedly substantially better than the X series. I bet Next Level HiFi would let you review them. Please make it happen!

I have the X3’s and have experienced hour 1 to @ 300 hour break-in. It’s a journey to say the least. There’s nothing I do not appreciate about X3 in my room, coming from SFaber, Harbeth, Devore, Wilson, Tannoy, Stenheim. My favorite amps with X3 are tubes, although I appreciate the Forte’3 as well.

Hey Steve huge fan of the channel love the reviews just wondering if you had a chance to try the Borresen X 2 with the new galion ts a 20 amp I'm thinking about upgrading to both of them thank you sir you are the best
Oh yes I did! The A20 is STUNNING!! I can not believe Thomas is selling this amp for the cost he is. I know he has spent a lot on it and as he says, it's his passion project. I can tell you now that the A20 is silent, doesn't get HOT just warm, sounds super refined, rich and detailed with some warmth in the mids as well. Very high resolution as well. Remarkable amp worth every cent. I ran it with the AGD Alto II pre and that is a stunner as well.

with the forte 1 & X3 combo I've heard they sound magical but yea... long term listening fatigue might be an issue, I suspect
@@kevinlim6521 For those who asked (I know someone did), yes the Galion A20 can power these with ease. No problem, no matter how loud I need to go. I suggest watching Thomas's videos on it. He explains more about the power and why you should not worry. With that said, if you are in a large room then more power would always be better for louder listening levels.

Prob not. The Forte 1 sounds very close to the 3 from what I have heard. Will have the same signature of sound as the 1 really. Maybe just a "little more" of it. The Forte makes these sound more hyper detailed and snappy, more "audiophile". The AGD amps have more soul, a lot more soul.
Forte 2 actually sound different than Forte 1. Warmer, fuller, more organic.
I'm looking out for that Qualio Audio review. Would it be the newer ultra ones or the recent one?

I don't understand why people "demonstrate" fine audio systems this way. Can the listener, who is listening to an in-room recording that is played via the listener's computer, often using low-fi headphones, really get any sense of the actual capability of the system? . . . . seems like the listener's perception of sound quality would likely be more influenced by: the system set up in the reviewer's room, the recording/reproduction method used to stream the music, the listener's computer and his/her headphones. Am I missing something?
What speaker cables did you use ?
My $39 specials I spoke about a couple videos ago ; ) All I need as I have had speaker cables up to $15k. IC cables make a much larger difference than speaker cables and cables just add or subtract from the sound. Just another way to tweak the sound, not always improve it. Ive had these for 1 1/2-2 years now. Always go back to them due to the ease of use, lightweight and sound great.
@@HiFiHuff You should stry Ansuz X2 or A2 speaker cables and interconnects at least with this level system. They are only voiced with Ansuz cables so you are really not getting what these can do.
@@pennfootball71 So is your $2000 speaker cable going to sound 50 times better than the $39 dollar specials? I doubt it.
@@boneseyyl1060 actually no 2k will not be enough for Borreson that is not even X2 level that will only be marginally better. THE one you need for these speakers are closer to 12 grand at least Ansuz C2 AND YES THAT IS 50 times better.

Difficult to make abstraction from a digital streamer signature ...........happy to not having fall into the trap of streaming . ..............perfect digital sound....not music as a perceived emotional and present event ......... lacking some essential qualities , some digital comes close , most even don't know it becauise they grow up with the fake reference ........natural and real sound !
But listening to the speaker with this kind of source suggest a far better potential to reproduce music without the shortcommings of most ( even high end ) digital.
